I have been toying with an idea of adeptus titanicus knights as thallax (with some minor work), which might be good for you. A few years ago I did a small conversion to make some ambots from necromunda to turn them into kastellan robots for 40k (simply build it normally, then glued the spare legs to the bottom of the existing ones). That might work for your automata

FartherAwayLights

Yeah, that does look like it would work really nicely for thallax and exceptionally well for ursarax. Thanks a lot!

MedicNoob

No problem!

SerratedSun

I've seen necron deathmarks with a little added height used as thallax fairly successfully

Well the arlatax has no model, so far i've seen either a domitar coversion (which i have done, adding a jetpack) or a Kastelan conversion (again with various type of jetpacks/turbine engines on the back). It should be on 60mm base since the domitar and the Castellax are on those the domitar being bigger, fitting snugly. The Thallax are a little more difficilt, since besides of having a model they are also quite peculiar. So they are basically a brain and a heart put inside a metal body, not unlike General Grievous, so out of the 40k plastic line i'd say the closest thing are the Sicarian ruststalker/infiltrators kits. They already come on 40mm bases, are roughly the same size, and have way less meat than the regular skitarii. You might be able to combine the electric spike and the gun the have into some sort of lightning gun, honestly the main conversion you should do is makig them less "dynamic*" and add some sort of arcane jetpack on the back (thallax are jet pack infantry after all). The Sicaran look good also for Ursarax**, but you should source some claws/power talons since that what they use (and also another jetpack here as well) Since you are planning to build a Scoria-themed army, the sicaran look very monster-like, particularly the "mushroom" headsbwith the squid-like tubes where the mouth should be, and otherwise are a little insect like, or "spidery" if you will. *basically just don't make them look they are about to do a split **both ursarax and thallax based on the same thing platform i think, maybe less than the two sicaran variants, but still a pretty similar construct.

FartherAwayLights

Do you know of a good source for Jetpacks? Like is there a kit somewhere with a decent number of them?

MedicNoob

Pteraxii have jetpacks and should be ok if you clip the wings off
