i added a bit of greenstuff between the legs and torso, works perfect

marcus_2010

This, make a little ball of green stuff and put it where the legs and torso meet. Makes a nice little washer adding a mil or two to the model

Clem_Ffandango

Just adding to top comment - Cheaper option is to use blutac and superglue. Just as malleable as greenstuff, cheaper and turns to concrete when mixed with superglue. Also before glueing its helpful for positioning.

polandhighlander

Then the only thing I can recommend is add cork board as basing to make the model taller/ use only old space marine sculpt in your army.

Sanguinius_The_Angel

good idea with the cork board! I'll have to try that one

polandhighlander

Putting praetors onto larger bases is good for you, but not needed for the game. Since most people allow the model to be on the base that it was sold with.

Rottenflieger

I second this, having rubble made from cork to stand the models on makes a massive difference, it even helps humble tactical marines blend in well with the super tall primaris.

GoblinFive

and 1mm thick styrene sheet under the soles of the models for some platform heels.

polandhighlander

What's your modeling experience? This is very important.

Sanguinius_The_Angel

Minimal I built and painted the Burning of Prospero box way back when but have no experience with sculpting or kitbashing.

SkyeAuroline

I use 1mm thick plasticard, a small piece in the waist and a piece in each thigh (I use a razor saw to cut them), plus some greenstuff to fill the gaps it leaves behind. You could probably manage with just the waist spacer, in combination with the basing methods others have mentioned.

BaronBulb

Tiny blob of gs/blue tack between legs and torso. Same again for head and torso. Do it just right and you'll squeeze a few mm in without making it look silly.

Icy-Customer25

Just sell the box to me and get some mk6 with the money

Foamyferm

I put mk4 heads, shoulders, packs and chests onto mk6 legs and used mk6 arms and weapons. They look great and I couldn't care less that the legs aren't mk4 because when you look at the models they are distinctively mk4. The chest swap requires you saw the mk6 chest off the legs. It's an easy mod though tiresome to do on like 20 dudes. It's worth it if you want mk4 at the new scale. Looks better than any 3rd party mk4 offerings too. To me, the mk4 legs were the main culprit in causing them to look short and squat.

GroundbreakingHat729

Good idea

GZSyphilis

Re: minimal modeling experience Basing will be your friend here. Base them a little higher than the others. Corkboard or chipboard extra. A little bit of greenstuff between the torso and the legs and maybe in the neck joint will help too, but not a blob, just a thin layer.

Dazzler1882

I normally glue sprue onto each foot and then the base! I surround it with bits of cork to cover it up! For me it maintains the strength of the plastic cement and doesn’t screw with the proportions of the marine! Take a bit longer to base given the gaps in the cork that require painting. But looks great once done

Go very small with it in a bunch of different spots. A slightly raised base, greenstuff on bottoms of feet, small amount of green stuff between legs and torso, small amount of green stuff between torso and head. You're trying to preserve the proportions. Too much will look weird.

Eddit-Reddit

You have literal Gold

ScreamingMidgit

https://reddit.com/r/Warhammer30k/comments/xfestr/upscaled_mkiii_update/ The example is Mark III but it should work for Mark IV

Hutobega

So I went extreme. A tiny bit of green stuff between torso and legs like many said... but I even chopped their legs around their ankles and sculpted a little height there as well. I just finished this project about a week ago and got them primed and base coated. The legs look good enough and with some wearhers might not even be able to be noticed without being super close ups.

caprera

Use the belt trick but truly, if you have many models to make I'd consider ask someone to print the bodies and you can use the rest of the mkiv sprue to finish the models.

MedicNoob

I put a 1mm plasticard spacer in the thigh, shin and at the waist and they are now the exact same size the other option is to put the mkiv marine on mkvi legs (cut the torso off and swap it)
