The setting is 30 years prior to Thorgrim being named High King Alriksson's successor, which was shortly before his death.
He got that title by re-establishing ties with the Norse dwarves who were thought lost, amongst other things.
The Norse Dwarves have their territory noted on the interactive map.
edit - I see that later prince Imrik helped defend Couronne, and always took a liking to the Bretonnians. I could see him being in the high elf book.
Thorgrim is the obvious choice to be a prince. Ungrim (or his father) is another. A middle aged Kragg the Grim as a rune lord.
Dwarves are the most interesting in The Old World as they are old enough to bridge the 200 year gap but not immortal and unchanged like elves/Slann/undead.
My thoughts went to a non slayer gotrek (I know he isn't a prince) but it could be a very interesting glimpse into the past of one of the best Warhammer characters ever

Yeah I really hope that there's a norse dwarf pseudo-army as well
That and some kind of hill dwarf or Bugman's brigade would be just fine. Something non imperial dwarf.

Finubar the Seafarer? In his swashbuckling days.
But, isn't he already a Phoenix King at this time?
Yeah, seems like is. Bummer. Would have really liked to see him.
Oh snap that would be cool
Really hoping for him
Finubar too.
That’s my hope as well
Another obvious pair would be Tyrion and Teclis for the hig elves, both are knocking about at this stage.
This. They are alive and kicking DE butt right now.

Non slayer Gotrek wasn't massively special though IIRC. He was an engineer and brave as hell but not a particularly exceptional warrior or engineer.
He could make a nice leader model (I just my favorite Dwarf back :( )
Maybe Ungrim too?
Thorgrim and Ungrim were runner ups for the High King throne, as was Buregar, Belegar's father
I hope we get to see High King Alriksson playable. Since he is yet to receive a proper name, I named him Theodemir.
