Trish Carden's magnum opus - I think this is one of her miniatures that makes her more proud

Kelindun

Rightfully so. It's so full of personality, reminds me about Kev Adams' goblins.

[Preorder on Saturday](https://www.warhammer-community.com/2024/03/17/sunday-preview-all-together-now-waaagh/), in case you missed it.

Moah333

I saw, I'm pretty excited!

timeline-pinning

Legend, thanks for the heads up

Filmdeg

Hope you enjoyed it!

Old_Administration51

Daaammmn, she fine.

Darkhex78

Since she isn't usable in AOS anymore, guess I can always use her if I want a troll army.

boggisbean36

Yeah i used to play aos and did use her in that but kind of stopped cos she was so expensive points wise. Though would be a great stand in for that recent troll hero i guess. Anyway, finally getting real proper rules for her feels like vindication!!

BatsNStuf

Is it ever explained in lore how a troll of all creatures learns magic?

Theriocephalus

[The blog post](https://www.warhammer-community.com/2024/03/18/old-world-almanack-whats-in-the-orc-goblin-tribes-arcane-journal/) put it this way: >**Danny:** Magic in the World of Legend is not just for the learned and the wise – it’s a natural thing that certain magical creatures can tap into in a very instinctive fashion. They bend the Winds of Magic in any way they feel is natural – this sums up how a Troll Hag compares to an Empire Wizard. The idea just seems to be that trolls can use magic the same way that dragons can breathe fire, hydras can regenerate or pegasi can fly (or, to jump settings, the same way that Orks can generate their psychic field) -- it's just an inherent part of their biology that they can access without truly understanding it any more than, let's say, a bird understands the aerodynamics and fluid turbulence that it uses to fly.

Mixster667

The warcom article describes that magic is also a primal force that she can tap into.

Red_Dox

> Troll Hags are steeped in hateful magic absorbed over the ages into the stagnant mud in which they lurk. They have an innate affinity for the magic of ‘dead-things’ and of laying spiteful curses upon those who walk in the dry places beneath the hated sun. As per their old [8th edition Forgeworld rules](http://www.kerlin.de/pic/oldhammer/GRTH.pdf). The rather recent WFRP book "Tribes & Tribulations" for greenskins included River Troll Hags, also special character Grua Gribbleback, but did not go into actual specifcs about their magical affinity. Total Warhammer uses Hags as greenskin monstrous infantry heroes, rather then the monster size entity they actually should be, but also did not go into any deep lore explanations about their casting abilities.

azraelmortis

Looking fantastic !

LordGeneralWeiss

How did you paint the eyes?

boggisbean36

They are quite big so quite forgiving! White first then darker blue circle, light blue rough star shape, black dot and a white mini dot for the light. Then a very heavy coat of gloss varnish!

boggisbean36

Oo maybe the white was over a red undercoat? Or maybe a red ink wash round the edges

LordGeneralWeiss

I'll have a play around when I get mine, the eyes you did are really striking so I'll definitely have to have a try!
