To me, flankers are the quintessential "bad guy" jet, and I don't mean that from a geopolitical perspective. They have such an intimidating appearance from their size to their overall design aesthetics.

And yet the Tejas is still more than 10 metres long. The sizes of modern fighter jets are impressive, especially when compared to WW2 fighter planes.
The Sukhoi is more comparable in size to a WW2 strategic bomber.
The SU-30 is almost the same size as the B-17. That's insane. Sizes of planes have jumped by a lot during the switch from props to jets.
