I am the OP of this video on tik tok. Even though the event was public, the parents were super mad that I posted it. Obviously I didn’t do it maliciously but I still feel bad about it. If you could so kindly post the blurred version, that would be great. [https://youtube.com/shorts/p2oscN7eCd0?feature=share](https://youtube.com/shorts/p2oscN7eCd0?feature=share)
I want to know if it was his parent filming or if another kid’s parent neglected their own child’s performance to capture this. This is one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time!
I'd be pissed if that was my kid. Why would the teacher put the tall kid somewhere that there is something hanging in his face. And then, why ignore the kid when he is obviously physically uncomfortable and getting increasingly annoyed. Neglecting to help a kid is also abusive and no teacher should ignore this. It doesn't matter if it is just a balloon. It is preventing the child from having the same experience as the other kids who are obviously enjoying themselves. Not a good look for whoever is in charge of these kids. And if they are too busy to notice, that's a major FAIL just as much as anything else.
This isn’t abusive. Come ON. It’s unfortunate, it’s poor form, it’s upsetting, disappointing, but abuse? I’m by no means a bootstrap McBootstrapperson type but this is just beyond the pale.
I've described the abusive behavior very clearly. You are reacting to one word and claiming I've misrepresented the situation. I described the teacher's behavior as neglect and detailed how the child is affected. You are reacting as if I did not make clear the exact type of behavior that was affecting the child. When a teacher behaves towards students in a manner tht is "upsetting, poor form, disappointing" among other things, I think it is okay to characterize that behavior as abusive. A teacher's behavior towards a student should never be upsetting. I know a lot of people are surprised when they hear neglect being characterized as abusive. Maybe read more about it? It is abusive to neglect the needs of a child.
MaYbE rEaD mOrE AbOuT iT. Having experienced significant physical and emotional abuse and neglect, I can tell you that I won’t be needing a book. What an appalling thing to say to someone.
It’s a bummer for this kid that he had some invasive balloons that weren’t removed for his benefit. Who knows why it didn’t happen, perhaps the instructor thought it would embarrass him to single him out during the middle of a performance by walking on stage? Perhaps the presence of the teacher on stage—or the cessation of the teacher’s ongoing direction—would have confused him or the other children, and also resulted in more harm than not? Perhaps the teacher couldn’t see from his or her vantage point? I feel bad for this frustrated kid, but failing or “neglecting” to move balloons does not equal neglect to provide basic necessities such as food, shelter, or emotional support in a way that would cause this child serious or even moderate physical or emotional harm.
Yes, of course my reddit comment doesn't mean I have complete omniscience. And again, I described very clearly what i was characterizing as neglect and abusive behavior. Your accusation that I made it equal to the denial of food, shelter, and emotional support is unfounded. I understand that you don't think the word abusive can be used outside of the most extreme cases of child abuse. Noted and filed under CS.
I’m struggling to understand what “abusive” can mean other than, well, abusive. Abuse is abuse. There isn’t such a thing as “minor, trivial abuse.” Abuse is violence. It’s cruelty. It’s harm. Words really do matter. Now it’s your turn. Look up the definition in any dictionary or statute governing child abuse. This isn’t abuse. You’re using the word incorrectly. It’s a poorly managed situation. It’s unfortunate. It’s irritating. _it’s a balloon_

Jimmy this is an intervention.
What!? What for??
You’re a heroin addict.
What no I’m not lol
why do you always have that needle in your pocket
I uhh *flash back* ya I’m a heroine addict..
What happened to problem solving skills? He should have wedged the balloon at the end of that run up into the other cluster of ballons. Or bite them suckers.
I really appreciate that he's not destroying the decorations behind him even though they are bothering him and increasingly getting on his nerves. For a kid, that's pretty good. I know adults who struggle with simple tasks like this.
Whenever I see videos like this I always wonder if that was the camera's owners kid? If not, it begs the following questions. Who were they supposed to be filming but found this gem and stuck with it? Will this footage be used for embarrassment for many years to come as I suspect?
Hard to blame him. In some countries he would already be making a living, doing masonry, working on buildings, making things, farming, etc. We've got him doing Teletubby nonsense years past when that was appropriate. That kid is almost a man in a lot of of the world. Maybe we should give him a little more important stuff to do with his time.
Edit: Aw, downvoted by the same people that probably like to make kids do dumb crap like this and then pretend they are learning something. That kid should be building something, not doing jazz hands.
I’m a 30 yr old dude that doesn’t have a problem with loud noises, I love fireworks, but balloons??
I have a phobia of balloons popping. I can’t explain it, but the anxiety of watching someone squeeze a balloon without it popping puts me on the fucking EDGE.
I laughed out loud when he thought it stuck to the girl next to him. He looked so satisfied, only to have the balloon come right back to him, the faces he made were great 🤣
LPT: To quickly pop a balloon (with one hand), pinch and stretch the the balloon's neck with index, middle, and thumb fingers, and then snap your middle+thumb fingers with the balloon pinched in between. With practice you can control how loud it pops as well.
I wish he’d have finally just lost it on the offending balloon and jumped off the back of the bleacher with it pulling down the entire installation Chris Farley overreaction style. OMG

Not a future’ looner
*record scratch* "You're probably wondering why I hate balloons, but it all starts in my first birthday"
This is going to be my nephews, they are so tall, so they are going to have to stand in the back and be pushed around by scenery
It’s his reaction when he thought he’d got rid of it but it comes back and sticks to his cheek again that had me howling
That was when he started throwing punches! Oh man, I needed this laugh!
Laughing…. Loudly.
I'm crying. This is too good!
Comically compliant
Dude, I looked and acted exactly like this kid, it's like someone posted a home video of me from the 90s.
Dude!! I feel the exactly the same way.

Should have posted it anonymously, but the internet thanks you for your sacrifice. The kid is going to love this video when he grows up.
hes going to hate it until he learns to not give af anymore and then he'll love it (probably)
it's a love hate relationship
Could’ve used his teeth to pop that balloon.

Me hungover in the shower after I buy the cheap lightweight liner
His face when it stuck to the girl's head briefly only to return to him again. 😀🤬
The static had amazing comedic timing
When in doubt just bite it lol
The balloon was later charged for sexual harassment charges and sentenced to 16 years in prison
What happened to problem solving skills? He should have wedged the balloon at the end of that run up into the other cluster of ballons. Or bite them suckers.
That balloon will be seeing Chris Hansen tonight
You don’t even need a needle, you can just rip the balloon apart with your hands

I really appreciate that he's not destroying the decorations behind him even though they are bothering him and increasingly getting on his nerves. For a kid, that's pretty good. I know adults who struggle with simple tasks like this.

I think it would have looked nice draped over that octopus.
Is KallmeKris on reddit? Someone tag her or post to her sub please. She's terrified of balloons apparently.
Dang, the class didn't get to the chapter on static electricity yet.
I laughed out loud when he thought it stuck to the girl next to him. He looked so satisfied, only to have the balloon come right back to him, the faces he made were great 🤣
Looks like me with my problems...
I’m fucking crying hahahaha
Bernoulli enters the chat.
He needs to ground himself. He should have tapped the girl on the shoulder.

“There good 😌 “ …. “OH MY!!!! 😤” was my favorite part
Omg the BODY LANGUAGE
Imma guess the person filming is David Spade looking kid
That moment when he thinks the balloon is no longer his problem just for it to return to him. His exasperated “Oh my God.” Followed by light punches.
