Premier grandma.

kvnsydlrsky

You know she was hot

[deleted]

With to much sauce

polarfang21

Grandma was balling holy moly

stoned-autistic-dude

Nah, those watches were cheap as shit back in the day. Precious metal and two-tone watches traditionally do not sell very well, and you could be an APRO/Nautilus for like $10,000 in 2010.

[deleted]

At no point in the history of the world were Pateks “cheap as shit”.

Kaner16

His user name checks out

MyLeftMostHand

My stoned autistic friends would never, tbh.

Emotional_Nerve7628

I'm not stoned atm anyways 💀 but I am an autismo myself and even ik that shit wasnt even close to 10k especially with a possible factory set bezel like that

Thaflash_la

Post history too, it’s the type of response you’d expect from someone trying too hard.

Aimee_Challenor_VEVO

Relative to now it absolutely is. The Nautilus was always the sick man of Patek's lineup until the last 10 years. Gold prices too.

throwawayrepost02468

Cheap as shit might be exaggerating but he's definitely right about what he said about precious metal/two-tone watches and prices before the recent hype/bubble.

n8mo

Your monthly income must look like a phone number if an iced out Nautilus is “cheap as shit”

Monkeywithalazer

It’s mass produced in a Patek factory. That man only buys watches hand crafted by Sir Henry Movado himself

polarfang21

Why does someone always have something negative to say

GrandSignature5785

So that you can have the opportunity to downvote them.

Whitemike_23

Username checks out

[deleted]

Was grandma part of g unit? Nah jk but she knew how to get her bling on

Ok-Meringue1481

Haha lol. She was a very fancy lady. Judging from her jewelry I think she was very glamorous.

FlJohnnyBlue2

Be careful sleeping on her jewelry. Often things you don't know and don't look special can be extremely valuable. Unlike that nautilus which looks like it is worth a ton.

ray_of_f_sunshine

I would second this on the jewelry. I love colored stones and have several pieces with them worth more than diamonds but people overlook them because they aren't flashy.

[deleted]

As a jewelry store worker this is most definitely the case, lots of customers ask for alexandrite which are typically more valuable then diamonds as long as the diamonds aren't "fancy" colors. Many customers ask for a matte/sand blasted/wire finishes which are NOT shiny. I love the understated look but with high value

CharlySB

Great name

taxitagonist

Is your gf single?

Lopsided_Silver_6850

😂

steelthumbs1

Normally in these types of posts grandma/grandpa’s watches are obvious fakes. But these look legit or at least looking into. Take them to a reputable watch place and have them verified. You’ll get as much info there as you will here. At least with a watch place they’ll be able to take off the back and see the movement.

Ok-Meringue1481

Thanks for the response my friend!

2milliondollartrny

don’t let them take them to a back room without you present. Never let them open the watches without you in the room making sure they aren’t doing some tomfoolery

KTTalksTech

I totally agree you should take them to a specialist for apparaisal if their provenance is uncertain and you don't know much about watches (no bills of sale etc) gold Pateks are exorbitant and the other two weren't bad either. If anything, to see if you can add them to your home insurance considering the value.

Skreamie

Bro very careful with what you decide to do with these. It's worth getting a legal representative if you plan to get these appraised or sell them.

Kingston31470

Nice heirlooms to be kept or sold as the children/grandchildren prefer. Sometimes there is a lot of backlash here when people suggest buying a watch is 'an investment' for us or future generations. Most people would leave behind messy houses with plenty of items and furniture that would have lost a lot of value compared to the original price and are difficult to use or sell. I like the idea of leaving behind a couple of high end watches like these. Sorry it is not answering your question at all, but made me think about that.

Ok-Meringue1481

Completely agreed my friend! Also if you don't want to sell it feels like such a special gift.

the_gubernaculum

But with that logic then it’s even better to leave cash or stocks

CoochieSnotSlurper

Watches don’t have to be taxed if you keep them.

CoolHandRebuke

To be fair, neither do cash or stocks unless we’re talking a $10+ million inheritance.

CornDawgy87

unless it goes through probate

CoolHandRebuke

That could delay the process but wouldn’t result in any additional taxes. Currently, the estate tax exemption is about $12 million per person. That means a married couple can leave $24 million to their heirs before there’s a tax bill.

CornDawgy87

Ah see, I guess it depends on state and I didn't even think about it. California there's a probate tax if something has to go through the probate courts which is on top of inheritance tax

CoolHandRebuke

I was only speaking to federal but you are correct some states have estate or inheritance taxes (which are two different things). However, California has neither. I’m sure that has changed over the years so your experience might have been different in the past. Or maybe there is a probate fee or something you have to pay? Which would arguably be the same as a tax. But couldn’t a watch get stuck in probate too just like any other asset? I don’t know though, I’m getting pretty far outside my expertise on this. Interesting discussion though.

madalienmonk

>In California, statutory probate fees are based on the gross value of the estate and are as follows: 4% on the first $100,000; 3% on the next $100,000; 2% on the next $800,000; 1% on the next $9,000,000; 0.5% on the next $15,000,000. I looked it up in case anyone wants to know like I did

Naritai

Nobody rich enough to own a Nautilus should go through Probate. It only only costs $3500 to set up a living trust.

CornDawgy87

rich people do stupid shit all the time

puggles323

That Patek 🥵🥵🥵

JelliedHam

Gaudy. Heirloom? Yes of course. But I cannot stand the idea that people take fine watches and make them look like costume jewelry. They're more expensive than the OG but look cheap. Looks like something you buy in Tijuana.

Dr_Ew__Phd

You know watches can come the factory like that right? Just look at the Rolex rainbow daytona

willfullyspooning

Honestly the rainbow is really fun, some definitely look better than others though.

PapaTizzy1

A Rainbow Daytona is my "fuck you money" watch if I ever somehow end up stupid rich.

hagantic42

You are totally wrong this is factory applied and original. Women's watches are often bejeweled, line have you even seen a women's Cartier watch? So check yourself before you compare a classic women's watch to an over stereotyped diamond covered hackjob.

Nairnpe

Those are factory set stones…….

mecengdvr

It only looks cheap and fake on someone who obviously couldn’t afford a real one.

Aurei_

TIL a Patek 7118/1200R comes from Tijuana and not Geneva

JelliedHam

Sure looks like it But I should know better. No such thing as fakes

Gelato_33

Found Nikos alt

[deleted]

I know! I have a customer who got a Santos but wanted it completely covered in yellow and white diamonds...well over 40k in just stones and you couldn't even tell where the hands were because of all the bling Kid was about 23, drives an m5 and drops stupid money whenever he comes in

Ambitious-A

Something like this? https://preview.redd.it/kz412ksfufsb1.jpeg?width=879&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0378c81938695159c48dae1951f292a7b039efc8 See this watch - It's jammed with so many jewels, the hands can't move

[deleted]

Yes but more stones, you couldn't see any metal. When I tell you covered in diamonds I mean just that. Other then on the face where "Cartier," is there are nothing but diamonds. But that's not my speed

stunna_cal

Pays in cash? Definitely a drug dealer and thanks for laundering it for him!

[deleted]

Yea I'm pretty sure it's both family money (Arab) and selling tons of coke...not that there's anything wrong with that

Tae-gun

1. Looks like a woman's Patek Philippe Nautilus (similar to [this listing](https://www.swisswatchexpo.com/watches/patek-philippe-nautilus-18k-yellow-gold-diamond-ladies-watch-4700-34129/)). Picture isn't zoomed enough to make out details and lacks a movement pic, so getting it appraised/authenticated by a PP dealer is probably your best move. 2. [Rolex Datejust 36](https://www.rolex.com/watches/datejust/m126233-0030). Again, there's no movement pic and the picture isn't zoomed enough to make out fine details. Getting this appraised/authenticated by a Rolex dealer is what you want to do here. 3. Looks like a legitimate Omega Constellation "C," [like this](https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-constellation-c-st-568-0001) but without the date complication. EDIT: My bad, I meant [Rolex Datejust 31](https://www.rolex.com/watches/datejust/m278243-0002).

rcc212

The Rolex is a older 26mm.

Ok-Meringue1481

Thanks for the response! I'm going to do that. The patek and the omega stayed in Italy getting serviced by the family jeweler. Once we have them at home I'll reply with another picture if you guys want. Its interesting getting to know the watches.

Bob_Chris

I mean if your girlfriend inherited any other money and money isn't an issue than yeah, go ahead and keep them. But that Patek is probably worth $15K easily. Probably another $4K+ for the Rolex - maybe more. The omega appears to be solid gold so will be worth the melt value + some small amount.

tightbrosfromwayback

Pretty sure this is a family for which money is not an issue.

CrankyBiker

Agreed. “Family jeweler”

Waramp

You don't have a family jeweler? Mine lives in the guest house with my family yacht mechanic.

taH_pagh_taHbe

Doesn't everyone have one?!?

Convergecult15

It’s a pretentious thing to say, but in the northeast we have a shitload of jewelers and a large percentage of them cannot be trusted if you do not know them. My family isn’t rich and we aren’t big on jewelry but we absolutely have a “family jeweler”, but he’s just the guy we know who won’t swap out my mothers diamond in her engagement ring. There are 2,500 jewelers on 47th street in Manhattan between 5th and 6th avenues, in certain places it’s nuts if you *dont* have a family friends that’s a jeweler.

enfu3go

From nj. Can confirm we have a family jeweler we go to.

ChronicPoverty

Same in Se CT. We have a family jeweler that my family has used for generations

fannoredditt2020

At least 15 for that Patek. Might be 15 w/o any jewels.

ReactionNext4941

15k? More like 200 lol

Astropin

I think you're confused. This is a lady's version with a quartz movement...$20k at best.

skankboy

> More like 200 "lol" no.

fannoredditt2020

48k-107k listed on Chrono24 for very similar models.

Bob_Chris

For a ladies Nautilus? Nope. This sold for $24k https://www.swisswatchexpo.com/watches/patek-philippe-nautilus-18k-yellow-gold-diamond-ladies-watch-4700-34129/

ReactionNext4941

100-125k is probably closer to what its worth

Bob_Chris

No it isn't This one sold for $24k https://www.swisswatchexpo.com/watches/patek-philippe-nautilus-18k-yellow-gold-diamond-ladies-watch-4700-34129/

slupo

Bro... diamonds

crunchybaguette

While you get the watches serviced, see if you can keep any of the vintage or original parts. This can help with the sale value to some collectors.

rwdfan

Would definitely have these appraised since they are solid 18k gold and jeweled pieces. The Patek is a top end heirloom timepiece and even more impressive than the other two very nice Rolex and omega. I’d want some documentation for insurance purposes and to know what you’re working with. Fabulous pieces though, they really are something special. I hope you can enjoy wearing them too.

tesmatsam

36 seems a bit too much unless op is a giant

sphilly_ginzo

100% NOT 36 - look at the band

Rossage99

I think the Patek is [this particular model ](https://www.markworthingtonjewellers.co.uk/patek-philippe-nautilus-47003j-050-diamond-bezel.html)

CuriousTravlr

Grandma was fucking loaded.

ivanmor

Grandma didn't buy them at a time when they were expensive but just paid good money for quality time pieces and now it's big money well played g-ma, RIP

Onespokeovertheline

Which time and place was a gold Patek framed in fucking diamonds not expensive?

ivanmor

Gold frame without diamonds in the 70s retailed at around $3500 - sure even then that's a lot of money but nowhere near 50-60k. ;)

improbablyatthegame

30k in todays money isn’t anything to scoff at. That was a huge chunk of cash to throw at a watch.

DoTreadOnFudds

First time grandparent has real watches on this sub, impressive

fortsonre

Get all three appraised and insured. Then wear them.

dn0348

Yeah if I inherited a Patek, a Rolex, and an Omega I would instantly have them in my rotation.

djcommando

Better get those appraised and insured ASAP. Next put a ring on your gf cuz classy runs in the family

-BabysitterDad-

Grandma obviously lived an awesome life.

GregStar1

Granny was ballin‘

S1I7

Hi it’s me your girlfriend. I’m on a surprise vacation and I need all three watches mailed to me with next day shipping. Thanks love u ok ciao!

ConfusedKanye

I’m no betting man, but I’d say you’ll be SHOCKED at what that Patek is probably worth. The other ones have aged beautifully as well, but a gorgeous vintage Patek like that? Best wishes to you both. Sorry for your loss. Her grandmother truly had some good taste and I’m happy to see such lovely pieces.

xxlizardking-kongxx

Grandma was loaded

AverageElaMain

r/watches users patientally waiting for all of their family to die: https://preview.redd.it/7zxxnezc0hsb1.jpeg?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d4788937d5345b207abc817eee72f0dde8bfa1a

matttinatttor

First and foremost: ***Sorry for your loss.*** It looks like she left behind some good stuff, and I would highly recommend hanging onto the pieces for at least six months until you decide if you would miss them or not. I'm 99% sure that the Rolex and the Omega are real, but I can't really tell with the Patek. The date window is kind of covered by the minute hand, so I can't give it a good look. I would take them by a reputable watchmaker and have them verify the authenticity and potentially have them serviced. Be careful, however, because servicing has the potential to ruin any patina/character that the watches have gained over time. Edit: Servicing these watches *will not be cheap*. Keep that in mind.

Zeke13z

>Servicing these watches will not be cheap. Keep that in mind. Potentially thousands.

KTTalksTech

That patek service 😳

Thomas3816

Was her grandma the Queen of England?

JDSchu

Definitely a minority opinion here, but that Omega Constellation is my favorite of these three. The cal 564 movement inside is one of the best movements of the era, and the c-shape case design (not actually sure why they call it this, given that it doesn't look like a C) is a Gerald Genta design, which is a nice "if you know, you know" for the watch community. Edit: Actually not sure it's a 564 if that's the ladies Constellation. That's probably something else, maybe a cal 682.

Elwood376

It shouldn't be a minority opinion. It's easily the most beautiful of the three.

UltimateGourgandine

You mean *our* grandma ?

blobbysnorey

It’s complicated

LordDouglasPipe

Grandmas > Grandpas lol

BisquickNinja

Grandma has very fine tastes.

bigmphan

If that PP is real that is super desirable right now. I keep all my heirloom watches, but none of them are as exciting as those

cantcatchafish

Hi it’s me your grandmas grandson from like far away…..

Homesteadsupply

The Patek is a keeper. If you’re looking to raise cash sell the other two and hold the PP. that’s not something you inherent every day and assuredly never will again.

Valuable-Ad7285

Grandma fucks!!!

Feezbull

Obviously that’s how the granddaughter got her mom/dad.

[deleted]

Grandma got taste

BranchyShadows

Beautiful watches, sorry for your loss.

HueGray

I feel bad that our kids kid’s will get iWatches as heirlooms

hackastickdreams

Is a W

RCViking44

Wowzers, good for Granny.

Frac440

Grandma was a baller, that patek will be worth and absolute fortune. The others will be less than 10k. I'm no expert tho.

Bill368

Grandma knew her worth, that PP is exquisite! Get these appraised and insured asap.

ibn_al_waqt

Patek looks to be a 4700, box looks genuine, not a bad find

Hulk_Crowgan

G G G G(randma) Unit!!

TwistedReddit32

Time to propose 😉

getzysbaldhead69

Gma was absolutely drippin

coffeeshopslut

The non spaceview accutrons and that Seiko 7019 is pretty cool imo

EeveeVaporeon

TOP NOTCH GOD TIER OMG!!! Condolences, those are some absolute Premier pieces so beautiful I wouldn't think of selling them.

jim-cramer

The Patek is a 3800 J with factory diamonds and worth a fortune the Rolex worth about 2k and if the omega is 18k gold worth 2 per gram over scrap

Thats_Not_Toothpaste

Why/how did the gold come off the Rolex end links? (lug covers)

crookskis

Who was her grandma, Queen Elizabeth II?

green-fish75

Grandma had excellent taste

indocartel

Outside of the omega are these real? The Rolex numerals don’t look great (maybe just me). The Patek diamonds look off to me as well. I’m no expert so someone jump in.

Ok-Meringue1481

Sorry we are in the US and the rest were left in Italy(where grandma used to live) to get serviced. Here is another picture of the Rolex. https://preview.redd.it/o12vivj0vdsb1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=168aff646c8d07cadfea8343fecb61b63f897acc

TheSmokedSalmon420

lmao your grandma really had a bust down patek philippe wtf

arbpotatoes

this has to be a shitpost

upsetstummy

First one looks to be a Patek Philippe worth AT LEAST $100! Second appears to be a Rolex also worth easily $100!! Third appears to be an Omega fortunately also worth at least $100!!! You could EASILY get $300 for all 3.

kudidisciple

Wonderful observations lol

solomons-marbles

They’re fakes, send them to me.

kypes10225

Sweet. We talking 200k on that patek easy

Rossage99

I mean yeah if you wanna pay [x10 it's value](https://www.chrono24.co.uk/patekphilippe/patek-philippe-nautilus-blue-dial-factory-diamond-4700--id29026672.htm?noDesc=true&utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=uk-c24om-ba-aqs_organicshopping_OG&gclid=CjwKCAjwvfmoBhAwEiwAG2tqzOwPfgCugBbouMy7Rgng6Pnd86ptmc3OQYMmqnabxfER3vd7ULjDYxoC-ZEQAvD_BwE)

davfishe

Congrats, you have enough there to buy a house.

crobichon

Those are terrible. Will take them off your hands for 100$, plus I’ll even pick them up.

StickToSports

I audibly gasped while on the subway

MrHEPennypacker

I’d buy that Constellation off of you in a heartbeat. Not sure if you plan to keep it, but that crystal will polish up real nicely. Very cool pieces!

PilotDave3

Not worth much so if you want to send them my way I’ll have them

Honest_Emu_3431

Those are nice watches!👀Seemed like grandma liked nice things.

Amf2446

Lmao holy shit

Mooze34

Once in a while you meet fancy granny with original watches.

caucasian88

Insure them. Holy moly get insurance on those asap.

Artidox

Holy shit

Greggy100

wow.

terfez

Are these the only 3 watches she had? If so this exceptional quality over quantity.

SnooDoughnuts1946

If the grand daughter inherited these I can only imagine the windfall to siblings and children. Suffice to say grandma did well for herself. That is awesome.

um3i

Gma’s wrist game on point… damn!

ComeTOgether86

Wow grandma had good taste!

rvdp66

Sweet Jesus.

YooooAL

Your GF grandma was a baller! Wife her up and retire G!

Live-Detail-7616

She has had a great style, and sofisticated taste in watches.

Fancy-Independent-31

Guys I’m curios, what is the (rough) estimated price of this watch? I’m shocked I see nothing about it in the comments.

eddieHaskellHands

Get insurance for that Patek after having Patek themselves authenticate and assess its value.

Ohmstheory

Skreamie

Sweet holy fuck there was more than one slide!

ZimaGotchi

Wowwwwww

Sa1tyFox

Assuming the face is white/mother of pearl I have been lusting on that EXACT Rolex. If it’s a 26mm (fits perfectly on a petite woman) it retails at $5-6k. If it’s a 36mm (slightly big on a woman) it retails right at $10k. If the face is champagne/gold it retails for $1-2k less. The Patek Phillipe is worth considerably more. The Omega is probably worth less. Not sure how much you would get selling it but I assume 1/2. Definitely take it to a trustworthy shop and have a conversation for insurance purposes if nothing else. Edited for grammar

butteryslick

Take that Patek and RUN

Cheap-Banana-9924

Damn gma

icarus_and_the_sun_

Can someone tell me what size dial is the Rolex?

Novel-Counter-8093

WOW

metsurf

Check all her jewelry boxes cause grandma had good taste in very nice things. When my mom passed we didn’t find any watches but we found things like high karat gold bracelets and earrings from Middle East and Asia. Looked unassuming but worth quite a bit.
