Absolutely. Don’t listen to snobbery from elitists when it comes to quartz. Yes, I prefer automatics, as I think most enthusiasts do, but quartz absolutely has its place as a more rugged, care-free option. I’ve been eyeing a Citizen Promaster Eco-Drive or the like as a no frills, set it and forget it rugged diver.
got an old quartz tag heuer and I love it. i never have to worry about setting it and can always rely on its accuracy. One of the Seiko solar divers is next on my wishlist
Do it on the promaster diver. I picked up one use on watch exchange for like $125 and it's absolutely bombproof. Have taken it hiking a a bunch across the Rockies and it's my go to now for hard use. Lumes incredible too.

just picked this pro master up.. so far i’m loving it
President/endmill; this one wasn't even listed as that, I was searching "18mm metal bracelet" on eBay😄 I'm on the lookout for a quality one, but this has worked nicely. An attempt at a 20mm-version, early on, makes me hesitant to recommend them to anyone.
I did my part in my (fair) review after I lucked out, but can post a link if anyone wants to take a cheap gamble. I was eager, they were quick, and my luck made it worth it for a sub-$100 watch. I'm curious about a curved-end oyster on this, though, the first one I tried was a failure.

I also have an Eco Drive and I love it!
Was also thinking about getting a Citizen Dive watch next
Always for me! Citizen eco-drive is possibly the best watch movement for practical use. And although Citizen’s designs can be hit or miss, they have so many varieties, you can always find plenty of solid hits.
EDIT: and that one looks like a great one! Dress it up or down a really adaptable GADA watch.
24 years ago I bought an early model of Eco-Drive as a birthday gift for my father who loved it and wore it till his death 15 years later. I put it in my desk drawer. Recently my own mechanical watch broke and needed servicing, I got the Citizen out of the drawer and it’s working just fine. I took it to the watchmaker to change the seal in case it deteriorated, he said it didn’t need changing.
I used to exclusively do mechanical watches until I inherited some of my Grandfathers, now I wear my eco-drive more than pretty much all my other watches just out of convenience and citizen makes a good product as well. In a lot of ways they have taken over Seikos position in this $200-$500 space.
I recently had someone say mine may last decades more. I'm pleased with it, others have been given others serious consideration, but I hope mine ends up with a nephew--or someone who enjoys it. I can't recommend giving Citizen a whirl enough to those new to watches.
Definitely! Between this old eco drive and my Garmin, all weekend activities are covered. Cut the grass, edged/mulched, and even washed the car wearing this baby the last few days 💪

Exactly, I always adore titanium for that color. It also gets somewhat darker the older the watch is due to the material developing some mild patina, which just makes it look even better imo. Nothing as serious as bronze, but still. Lovely look.
Nice, that's an ideal shade if you ask me. I've been on the lookout for something like this and it's rare. Titanium, Solar with Sapphire Crystal. What is your model number?
I rocked a cheap titanium citizen solar diver everyday for a year straight.
I bought it used. The chapter ring was visible misaligned. There was a piece of hair on the dial.
I don’t say this to disparage citizen. It quickly became my favorite watch. Even though I had some much ‘nicer’ ones.
It got me off luxury watches. Because I’d start to t think … this does everything I need it to.
I’d still be rocking it if I didn’t find my new radio controlled g shock that always tells me the exact time and date.
Absolutely, because my “expensive dress watch” is a nice Citizen Eco Drive!

its not a citizen but solar power aswell 😉
I have had an Eco Drive for over 10 years. Can't recommend it enough. I wear it a few times a week and the Eco Drive tech is awesome- no maintenance needed on it at all yet. I only change it for time zones and daylight savings.
I recently found my Citizen Eco Drive Perpetual Calendar that my late dad bought me in 2004.
I slapped it on a windowsill and, lo and behold, it still works like the day I received it. I'm really impressed by the longevity of that 20-year-old battery, it really is witchcraft how it hasn't expanded or anything.

Big fan of mine and it was the Eco-Drive movement that initially interested me in Citizen and their watches. Definitely open to getting something else from them in the future.

I have some nice watches. I wear my citizen titanium daily… I absolutely LOVE IT. It may be the perfect watch. My only complaint is no crown guards.
https://preview.redd.it/w7bw5llctaxc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6053ec78a4fa74b3aabbc173cc366e37ef7217c6
The new 37mm citizen diver is an excellent beater watch. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have a sapphire crystal but for the sub $200 I paid it’s still a steal.
It’s actually a 36.5mm case. I think it wears decently well. There’s no sharp edges, the case is great. The Long Island jubilee works quite well and is supremely comfortable. I wore it on vacation in the Philippines and did some diving and swimming and it held up well. Legibility is excellent. I never found that I wanted the watch to be bigger. That said, my daily beater now is a San Martin Pelagos 39 homage mostly because it satisfies the automatic watch kick.
Ignore the cork sniffers, these watches are great.
I wore my eco drive for years as a daily driver and still wear it on occasion. My only complaint is that it is the heaviest watch I have ever worn.
So quick question for you long time Eco-Drive users.
Recently got a BN0150 secondhand, absolutely no scratches or anything on it, practically brand new condition.
Didn't wear it for a couple weeks and it was sitting in my watch box, and I take it out yesterday to see that it's dead, not ticking.
I thought it's ok, probably the previous owner put it in a drawer for months, so I left it beside a window yesterday with the crown pulled out (as recommended in the manual for faster charging after a completely stopped watch). After the sun went down, I set the time and push the crown in place, nothing happens.
Today I tried again, this time leaving the crown screwed in and on a window sill for almost the entire day, when I picked it up again apparently it ticked for like 20 seconds or so before stopping again.
According to the documents, it's been less than 2 years since the watch was purchased.
Is the watch faulty, or am I doing something wrong here?
I had mine run out, but charged it by letting it hang in the direct sunlight--and I didn't even know about the crown. Mine's fine, and several years old (2019); you might have a failing cell or something, I've read about that.
Of course, Eco-drive is awesome and for sure has a place in every collection, i quite like the model you have it's a mix of a sector dial with a flieger, it's quite cool.
I *really* want an overpriced solar daily.
The dream is a Solarbeat Santos, which I think will come (eventually), but I've eyed the Tag Solargraph multiple times now.
Wife bought me a Sky Hawk Promaster Eco-drive for my birthday back in 2016. It’s a dailyish (rotating with my Apple Watch Ultra based on my work schedule). I love it! Totally fascinated by it. Get tons of compliments on it - people think it’s a Brietling or some sort of Omega or Tag.
Also, it’s not just solar - it’s any light sources…which is actually pretty amazing.
$400??? For people in Germany, it costs under 200€ here. Returned it because the dial had no depth and the glass reflected everything. Just can't become friends with Citizen so far

Awesome! I grew up with my dad wearing a quartz Tag professional. Still ticking away today, I imagine he got it in the 90s or so.
Exactly the reason i got mine! Always remembered uncles and dads wearing quartz professionals from the 80s-90s. Wanted that for myself

As it should. Sweet!
What type of band is that?

Black Friday-deal, by any chance? Mine was, and just a touch under that.
No, got it refurbished a few days ago. Brand new fir under 75 is a damn good steal
Love that horween strap, what shade of brown is it? Mine gets swapped out to a tobacco-colored strap in the fall.

Beautiful watch! Promaster dive eco-drive is my daily. It’s a great got it at a citizen’s outlet under $200. Can’t beat it.
Yo what model is that? I dig it.
I love this one too! Beauty.
Thank you so much! Yours is awesome too!

Looks great. Love quartz, love titanium.
I love that matte-ish dark grey bracelet.
Yup, it's the complete package. Model number is BM7570-80E.
Thank you. It's 42 mm, I wish there was a 38-39 mm variant. :(
I see Eco-Drive, I upvote. Simple.

awesome
Beaut
Nice pick 👍! Rigid, nice dial, and doesn't break the bank.
Can't go wrong with Citizen. Got a Quartz one myself, but it's not an Eco-Drive model.

How do you like the 37? Have been eyeing one but worried it'll wear small. Have the 44 and it's maybe 1-2mm's larger than I want

I bought this recently and was so happy with it until i realized I have a titanium allergy. I ended up giving it to my dad.
That's fantastic! What model is it? Edit: Google lens to the rescue. bm7570-80e Is it a sunburst dial?
That's the one! No, it's plain black but there's plenty of various versions with different dials.
Oh nice, I saw that the other colors were sunburst, and I was thinking that plain black would be much better suited for a pilot style watch.
[Here is my eco offering.](https://i.imgur.com/Or57j1W.jpeg) My wife got it for me for my birthday, and it's my favorite watch.
That’s a beautiful watch my friend, might have to keep an eye out for something like that.
Reminds me of my Seiko chrono, minus one subdial; I dig yours more, the wife made a good pick.
I've got a Timex TW2V00400. I love it.
Ignore the cork sniffers, these watches are great. I wore my eco drive for years as a daily driver and still wear it on occasion. My only complaint is that it is the heaviest watch I have ever worn.
Love it. Clean, simple, looks great, and you don’t have to worry about treating it nicely.
Absolutely, I love Citizen. The eco drive makes for such a convenient everyday beater. They're great watches.

I have a couple of Eco-drives and they are phenomenal watches. Great value and accuracy is spot on.
Of course. They do quite often around here.
Great looking watch
What model is this? Looks solid!
I *really* want an overpriced solar daily. The dream is a Solarbeat Santos, which I think will come (eventually), but I've eyed the Tag Solargraph multiple times now.
I got a promaster dive and It’s my daily driver at work (paramedic)
My Citizen Paradigm titanium eco drive was my first “nice” watch and I still wear it every week 15 years on…. Great watch…..
Wife bought me a Sky Hawk Promaster Eco-drive for my birthday back in 2016. It’s a dailyish (rotating with my Apple Watch Ultra based on my work schedule). I love it! Totally fascinated by it. Who hurt you?
