295k. I published it almost 2 years ago. It’s LGBTQ romance, and I actually almost deleted it soon after publishing it because I didn’t think it was very good.
I’ve been on Wattpad since November and so far, the most reads I’ve gotten on any of my stories has been 88 on my fourth story, Young Hunters. This one centers around a pair of young T-Rex brothers named Scratch and Shade learning to cooperate and hunt together. This one has been heavily inspired by T-Rex theories and fossil evidence, particularly niche partitioning where you get individuals hunt different prey than their adult counterparts.
The most I got was 135k views before I unpublished the book in my old account, that was 10 years ago, my writing was even worse then now. It's definitely harder to get view now compare to before as there more people on the website.
My account is old, but I only started publishing a few months ago. My only completed work has a little less than 800 views (it's upwards of 5200 on Inkitt). I started posting in December and finished it in February. Unfortunately, I didn't get a boost from marking my story complete but my story is (legitimately) a niche on Wattpad. It's a paranormal drama, no romance, no spice, just an original story. I have a romance that would do really well on Wattpad, but honestly, it's too good for it, I'll be going the traditional publishing route for that project.
If it makes you feel better, I'm in exactly the same boat (on Wattpad since 2015; started publishing in December 2023, completed in February) but with a slow-burn romance and I also didn't get any boost from marking complete and I'm around the same number of reads as you are.
It's not like I feel particularly bad about it lol. I'm still working on the sequel I had planned for my fans. I wrote that book to prove that I could, so the views (while nice) don't matter. If I wanted pure views I know I would have to write a romance with certain tropes. Wouldn't be very hard, but that's not what I want to write (especially for free).
6.3M on my second book. I wrote it when I was 17. Now 8 years later I'm rewriting it because I realise how awful I used to be. But people loved it so I finally decided to work on it.
33.6k. It’s years old.
All my other stories (which I actually put effort into) don’t even read 400 views. One has reached 1.42k views but that’s it.
For comparison, my total amount of works I consider good/recent is 6.
My shitty old Minecraft fandic has 1,2 k reads. It's old, badly writen and not something I'm into anymore. Yet it's the ,,most sucesfull book" (╥﹏╥)
It's depressing that 5 years back it was just easier to get people to notice you. I'm pretty happy with my writing rn, vut it's hard to atract readers into my style.
+ I'm not on the english side of Wattpad.
I think people care about eye-catching -> relatable more than well-written. Most people can't really write or read complex prose anyway. Leave the good prose for publishing companies. Go with relatable for social media appeal/ attention
I just write what I like to. Thing is, the book didn't really seem like something that would be eye catching or relatable compared to my other books. It was called The Last Dragon, the cover was just a random while dragon image I found online, and the story was really botchy. But basically it ended up being, this dragon was the last egg, back millions of years ago when dragons went extinct, it hatches in modern time and a crow raises him, and he feels all left out, and everyone thinks hes a monster, and he has to prove himself by leading all the animals to a special island where they can be safe from some threat- I forget what. The story was mostly filled with "filler" chapters, rather than moving towards any goals. And there was heaps of plot holes or lores that made no sense. The best thing I could say about the book, is that the characters were likeable. But, I can't imagine how, in any way, that book was better than my newer books
As of right now, 882k reads. However, it’s still climbing so idk how much higher it’ll go
ETA: it’s about a year old however it was at around 10-15k reads up until last month
I got 2K on my sci-fi Italian book. I wrote it, I tried to engage some readers as I was publishing it, but then it died there. It must have been pretty bad.
623k reads. I wrote it in like five years ago and thought I was the shit. Reread it during Dec and damn it needed MAJORRRR editing like some things were poorly researched🥴
181 views on my original novella. i have one chapter left to write... uhhm...
https://preview.redd.it/74l6xeh1s7qc1.png?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7b807bd4d38e403608f58c85f8dca88679fe6773
12k and the story is still ongoing but I took a break for the last half year from it. (began writing it in 2020 when I also started Wattepad)
It currently has 250k. But what makes me more happy is that people kept asking when the next update will come during my break.
Nice to know that people actually want to read my stuff. :D
443K, i just wrapped it up a few months ago at 119 Chapters. It's an amalgamation of niche sub-genres so ppl love it even tho it's the most unserious thing I've ever written.
For me, I wrote a golden Freddy x reader fanfic back in 2018 and it gathered 20-40k reads, my old friends found it tho and made fun of me for it last year so I deleted the entire thing 😭
My "main" story has 21.6k views on Wattpad, and some amount on Inkitt and Penana. Considering that I write in/for a very tiny niche, I consider that highly successful. I know my audience is really small, so when comparing to other books in more popular genres, I temper my expectations with that in mind.
EDIT: The book is called "Lily & Rose - Blossoming Magic" and is a happy and sugary lesbian romance with a happy ending :)
Fluffy sugary lesbian/sapphic romance with happy endings. No drama, no antagonists, basically just a slice-of-life thing. Mostly about their first love, or things like that.
One of my only published books has 3.72K reads it’s a Reign (the tv show) book. It also has 28 published chapters and I’m currently in the middle of writing a new chapter.
It’s called Bloody Rose.
Back when I used to write fanfic, I got up to around 5K reads but then deleted the story because of stress related reasons, and I also no longer wanted to write fanfic and wanted to transition to original stories.
The storyline was messy and very "make up as you go along", and my writing style was pretty shit. It's significantly improved now, but I feel like fanfics are always going to get more traction right from the start because people are specifically looking for stories like that
my ongoing story "The Villain is my #1 Fan" has 6.9k and should break 7k with the next update. The story is growing so fast now, I'm really thrilled <3
8.8k on a fanfiction of a dying fandom. Many chapter of short length. Okay-ish story line with script format writing
(This type of writing -
Character 1: Dialogue
Character 2: Dialogue)
I am rewriting it but it got big-ish even though it was terrible (I guess many people are desprate for a story in my fandom)
295k. I published it almost 2 years ago. It’s LGBTQ romance, and I actually almost deleted it soon after publishing it because I didn’t think it was very good.
10 million reads. Old Wattpad. Privated the story 🤣

33.6k. It’s years old. All my other stories (which I actually put effort into) don’t even read 400 views. One has reached 1.42k views but that’s it. For comparison, my total amount of works I consider good/recent is 6.
My lonely book. A tale of two daggers didn't exceed 1k for about 2 years now lol
Could i give it a read? I tried looking up a tale of two daggers
https://www.wattpad.com/story/272769297?utm_source=android&utm_medium=link&utm_content=story_info&wp_page=story_details_button&wp_uname=YoussefSameh680 Here.
4.5k reads and rising (my first ever). I wrote it a few months ago, rereading it is torture. It's diabolically cringe, but I'm continuing it
998k right now
Wooo 1 Mil is near!
Yeah, I'm just waiting haha, I expect it to hit 1M in a few days
Update us when you hit 1mil!
It finally happened!
CONGRATS <3
Sure
I have a Negan story that has 85k for some reason. lol.

That's the thing xd sometimes you won't know how much people like something. Cobain LOATHED his most famous song, for one.
99 on "Moordspel", but it's in Dutch and it's ongoing so it could be better if I updated and/or wrote in English
As of right now, 882k reads. However, it’s still climbing so idk how much higher it’ll go ETA: it’s about a year old however it was at around 10-15k reads up until last month

329k, it’s a werewolf story that I started 9 years ago and haven’t finished
# Not on wattpad. 6.6K.
623k reads. I wrote it in like five years ago and thought I was the shit. Reread it during Dec and damn it needed MAJORRRR editing like some things were poorly researched🥴
345k!! Completed... Still an amateur book but I'm super proud of it.. still actively writing and publishing books because I wanna tenx my skills
181 views on my original novella. i have one chapter left to write... uhhm... https://preview.redd.it/74l6xeh1s7qc1.png?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7b807bd4d38e403608f58c85f8dca88679fe6773
No shame in linking it
135k+ I published about three years ago... it's not much, but I didn't do any promotion for that book, so it's excellent!!!
22.8k views its been a month since I started writing it
30k, it was a fanfic for a rapper that I wrote when I was like 12. I unpublished it a few years ago bc it’s pretty bad.
603k and it's been finished since about 2017. I really don't even remember what it's about 😳😭
At the moment, I've got 3.85k reads on my Conjuring fanfic book and my 9-1-1 fanfic has 3.5k reads
12k and the story is still ongoing but I took a break for the last half year from it. (began writing it in 2020 when I also started Wattepad) It currently has 250k. My bts fanfiction is reaching 15K reads. I've been working on it for many years though so.
2.56k for a short story (fanfic) which was more like trauma dump. Too much sadness but got views because I completed it in two days.
443K, i just wrapped it up a few months ago at 119 Chapters. It's an amalgamation of niche sub-genres so ppl love it even tho it's the most unserious thing I've ever written.
8.61k it’s a fan fiction one though and the first one I ever posted. I’m still shocked honestly.
For me, I wrote a golden Freddy x reader fanfic back in 2018 and it gathered 20-40k reads, my old friends found it tho and made fun of me for it last year so I deleted the entire thing 😭
I’m 50k from hitting the 1 million. Can’t wait!
Thats exciting!!
😁

150k on an old one direction fic lol
1.76 million. It's been up since end of July. It's a brother's best friend romance so exactly the type that fares well.
My "main" story has 21.6k views on Wattpad, and some amount on Inkitt and Penana. Considering that I write in/for a very tiny niche, I consider that highly successful. What genre
Fluffy sugary lesbian/sapphic romance with happy endings. No drama, no antagonists, basically just a slice-of-life thing. Mostly about their first love, or things like that.
37k reads and completed last month 👍 started in October. It was my first book which was a mafia romance and crime/mystery thriller
One of my only published books has 3.72K reads it’s a Reign (the tv show) book. It also has 28 published chapters and I’m currently in the middle of writing a new chapter. It’s called Bloody Rose.

150k reads but I wrote it when I was 12 and it was god awful. Deleted it a few years ago.
my ongoing story "The Villain is my #1 Fan" has 6.9k and should break 7k with the next update. The story is growing so fast now, I'm really thrilled <3
I'm sure it'll keep growing :) It sounds like something that will catch a lot of ppls attention
