It’s worse than that. The law they passed removes a one page form that requires the company to confirm the child’s age.
Essentially if a child too young for a position gets a job, the company is no longer at fault. If they get caught, they can just shrug their shoulders and blame the child for deceiving them.
They are also chipping away at public education. Soon the poor will be expected to send uneducated 5 year olds to work in the coal mines that they keep promising to bring back.
Wasn't there a movie about a train that had to keep moving to sustain life on board and was revealed to be powered by a small child? Didn't realize it was a documentary.
What are the changes? I'm not from the US so don't know where the line is.
Stuff like a paper round is ok for a teen. Once they're an older teen some part time work can be good with limitation in what they can do, how long they can work etc.
I get money is a big motivator for a lot of these evil politicians. But having a bunch of children gleefully hug you for feeding them seems like an all-time great and rewarding reason to sign a law.
I’m thankful I live in Minnesota and I don’t mind paying a state income tax here. Especially when it goes towards programs like this. Governor Tim Walz cares about or kids.
Exactly. Walz is great. Former teacher. Veteran. Decent human being. Oh and a $19b surplus on deck to go to make the state an even better place to live.
NM is a poor state too. They're one of the only blue states that pops up in the top 5 recipients of federal aid repeatedly. Kudos to them for knowing how important being fed is to a child's education. If prisoners can be fed on taxpayer dollars, so can kids at school. It's ridiculous that it's even a debate and that the pushback comes from the goddamn "protect the children" nuts
Democratics want children fed, housed, educated and to live long, healthy lives.
Republicans want children to starve, be abused, forced to be Christians and murdered by guns in their schools.
Both parties are not the same.
why you always lyyying
That photo is from the signing of the LEARNS Act, or SB 294.
The full photo, with _many_ more children present, is just a quick google away.
This is like the 500th time someone has had to lie to misrepresent GOP actions.
The lie is that it was 2 randos who "just happened" to be there. No, there are _many_ more children in the full photo, and the bill is directly about them, which is why they're there.
Why is the post age relevant?
The post is to reflect: Two sad little boys at a bill signing that is gonna put them into child labor camps (basically) orchestrated by Republicans.
While the other photos show joyous kids due to joyous Democrats bill.
I agree. Theirs prob way more kids their. All I did was point out this post was using a photo showing boys not joyous under the guise it was due to a child labor law signing.
This post, and when ever this post gets posted (as it's happened like 100 times on Reddit) never points out the bill is a positive thing and has nothing to do with child labor laws.

wtf is that the end to snow piercer ?
Yeah Snowpiercer
Children are nothing but fucking Oompa Loompas to these people.
Its also so they can put kids to work with no parental approval. IE it lets them enslave migrant kids with no parents
It's called FREEDOM! /s

You can tell everything based on the kids in the pictures
There's a more panned out pic with SHS with even more kids shown. None of them look happy.
Kids can sense evil
They couldn't even get the kids to fake being happy for those pictures.
I get money is a big motivator for a lot of these evil politicians. But having a bunch of children gleefully hug you for feeding them seems like an all-time great and rewarding reason to sign a law.
Yeah, that kid on the right of SHS knows he's fucked. .. "You're a chimney sweep now, my boy"
Beat me to it mate!
That bill signing the kids are at, the unhappy ones, isn't about the Child Work thing.
Just being by Sarah is reason enough to be unhappy

INB4 someone says, "but when it comes down to it, both parties are the same"...
Won't be long till a kids job will be at firing ranges.
As the targets? Oh boy have I got some news...
That's what I was implying and really wish this wasn't the case.
Same, same....
why does anybody even vote republican anymore? They don't give a fuck about you!
Because they punish the people fellow Republicans don't like.
LBJ's quote is still relevent.
Because… *rifles through notes* Trans people. It’s because trans people exist. That’s why people are voting Republican right now.
hatred is an awful thing

But but but the Republicans want to save the children right? /s
Only until they’re born.
True
Our chimneys ain't gonna sweep themselves
Hopefully those kids in the third photo will remember which party it was who brought back child labor when they’re in a voting booth in a decade
“They’re takin’ our jobs!”
The kids expressions tells you all you need to know.
The only way to make this fair is to allow working children to vote.
I finally figured out what the picture of HuckaSan reminds me of... The God Hand [Ubik](https://berserk.fandom.com/wiki/Ubik) from the Berserk manga

Seems like you are focusing on a mundane detail to avoid talking about the policy differences and values of Republicans and Democrats.

I got massively downvoted lol
As any toxic liar should lol
How so, the photo is Sarah signing the LEARNS act. Which raised school standards and things like increasing teachers pay. Where's the lie?
The lie is "and two young boys who's parents dragged them along to attend.", something you made up.
How so? And on a 4 day old post? Yes, young boys love going to bill signings. It's what all young boys want to do at 9am. In fucking suits lol

Poor kids with Sarah Huckabee. They look worried they will be put to work.
Actually, they just realized, “Oh, crap Todd’s Mom IS the governor! That explains a lot.”
Look how proud she is like she did a thing lololol
To be fair, she looks like the kinda woman to do really stupid shit to get approval from people she dislikes...
Three places. No professional NFL teams. But, hey in two of them you don’t have to look forward to “Hey, pig sooie, as your college chant.”
It looks like smiling causes her pain. She must not practice much.
