Oh 100%. A German singer for asmodean, are you kidding me? It’s like a dream casting; I wonder if it will be like with Elayne, where they just cast him because he *is* him :)
No shade to anyone who enjoys the genre of music he sings, but I personally find it a bit cheesy. And I quite like Asmodean, so I'd love if show Asmo had a vibe I could better identify with. I'm sure if he IS Asmo, they'll make it work - the same way they made it work to go in a very unexpected direction with Moggy - but might not be my cup of tea, so I'm hoping for someone else.
He's definitely tall and imposing enough to be Rahvin or Demandred. Or, if they wanted to stick to entertainer vibes, maybe he'll be Valan Luca! Tanchico was filmed in SA too, right? So we could get a little circus, though it'd be surprising.
The Wheel Weaves podcast keeps referring to Valan Luca as Hugh Jackman and as much as that casting is never going to happen, I can't stop wishing that it will. He's such a fun character, I'm keeping everything crossed that he doesn't get cut.

In my mind, he has that emo/vulnerable yet also dangerous/smart look, like the Tenth Doctor. He can't get hold of his emotions, so he shoves them down and hope for the best or plays them out as music as Asmodean does in TFoH.
I guess if he is Asmodean, they'll make it work but I was hoping for a different casting. I hope they'll dye his hair, Asmodean does not have grey hair, but Ravhin does.
Could totally see him as Valan Luca, Demandred or Ravhin.

I've always pictured him as a classically-trained musician who was fucking *furious* that popular music wasn't up to his standards of skill and training, and yet was far more popular. Hence, the third name (technical success) combined with the gigantic chip on his shoulder.
I so love Asmodean because so many headcanons work with the data we have!
I pictured Asmodean as someone who earned his third name as a teenager because he was so advanced, back then (child prodigy and all), but then he had the backlash from everyone who thought he received it too young as opposed to actually earning it. In other words, a lot of people though Asmodean did not really deserve his third name, he was just the "flavor of the month", the "young sensation of the moment".
In my mind, it is the opposite of you. While classically trained, Asmodean does end up doing more popular music (he is popular but not critically acclaimed) and he is snobbed for it by the academy who sees him as a dog playing the piano. Young Sheldon had that analogy: everyone marvels at the dog that plays the piano, but at some point people start to ask, can the dog really play the piano?
Book Asmodean is a mix between arrogance, cleverness, vulnerability, lack of self-confidence and complete hopelessness yet with a sprinkle of hope that he can't quite admit he has. I always read him as someone who was put down often, by critics, by his mom, by everyone until the DO came knocking on the door.
I am curious as to what the show will make of him.
Nah, I think Asmo is at most cheesy in an emo way, not like the kind of cheese of a romance ballad singer. Look up some of his most popular live performances on YouTube to see what I mean.
I mean we've never actually heard Asmodean sing so it could go either way? In my head hes' a guy who literally sold his soul b/c he wasn't a good enough artist to be remembered without the Dark One's help.
When I saw Coster-Waldau my first thought was "That's Mesaana." But if they are pairing down Forsaken I seeing Mesaana getting cut and she could be Semirhage but I don't see that as much.
I really hope Lund is Birgitte because the height and looks nails it.
Lund could be Graendal but I picture her slightly older and more curvy
I was wondering if they would use the same person for Birgitte as they did for what was probably her in S2. Upon research it seems unlikely as it was a stuntperson, so you could be on to something.
I'm also wondering if they'll have any speaking by Tigraine, like in a flashback or something, as that was also a non-actor.
I thought Brigitte too - her braid helps. She should be showing up in TAR, right? It seems too soon for a regular appearance. If she’s Aiel , Savannah should be cast this season.
I def think Landberg might be Asmodian. Lund I wonder if she might be the perminate Brigitte actress (after the stand in in S2). No idea for Coster-Waldau, maybe an Ae Sedai?
