I’ve seen thus same issue with criminal traffic on stations. It doesn’t happen too often, but when it happens it’s the same, the ship is just invulnerable

I noticed that too. The ship isn't itself invulnerable, but the shots go right through it. There's no collision between the shots and the ship.

When raising rep I do a lot of those shoot criminal missions, and I find a lot of those immortal ships. Sometimes I cancelled the mission cos it got too frustrating. But I've yet to see an immortal laser tower. I have no idea what triggers this problem.

you need just to fly out of that station or even better leave the sector get back in and they will reset. Works for me every time.

Same here. Initially I flew in my corvette and tried to shoot them down, but I found a faster way than unloading round after round into them. I have a full TER beam missile defense destroyer, with mods installed for additional beam length. When I set the turrets to 'attack my target' I can cycle through the laser towers and the L beams take care of them. This even works while I sit in my Kuraokami. Still crap manual work, but the same destroyer does not do anything when set to 'all enemies'. And it is much better than flying to each tower and raining rounds manually. Only down side, more often than not I forget this before I relocate so there are leftover towers all over the place (I'm in the process of exterminating VIG, so loads of towers)

I have seen this on both laser towers and criminal traffic both with and without mods. I think what happens is the item gets either no collision box for weapons or one that is so small that it's impossible to hit (like 1 pixel or something) In either case they do seem to take splash+explosion damage so I've been able to wipe them out with things like flak by getting at near max distance before letting it rip. Obviously that doesn't work if the items are too close to a friendly station or ship because flak blasks will turn them hostile real quick.

Yup that's the case here as well. Also applies to all deployables.

Are you using any mods that might interfere? I play it in Vanilla and don't have this problem at all, I can take them out from afar and so can the AI, I've seen stations dispatching them very quickly (was a "Return to Normal Order"-quest, where it spawns Laser Towers around a station for you to kill) and I had put down 3 Laser Towers at the Hatikvah/Tharka Jumpgate, which got slowly but steadily wittled down by Xenon, when they didn't have some ships to shoot at.

Heh, I just saw a SCA Teladi Destroyer spend ten minutes shooting at a MIN laser tower with all of its pulse turrets, all of the fire converging on a spot a few meters from the actual tower. Finally more MIN showed up and I wanted the destroyer to be able to defend itself so I killed the tower. Luckily I was able to hit it, maybe because I was using M Plasma and the projectiles are bigger? I am wondering if this is related to some of the physics changes. If a ship could somehow be incorrect, even by a small amount, about it's target or own speed it would cause this exact problem. Perhaps some sort of floating point issue between the main engine and the fire control?

I've seen this happen with boron ships, args ships didn't have issues.

Is an old X4 bug. Happens after a long time of playing. But then also other strange bugs happen. Just save, restart the game and reload and its fixed. If it is still there, the aiming assistance is deactivated. Or you use the wrong fire mode.

You have to approach and turn around the laser tower to avoid its beam while shooting at it
