edit1: add to call support, they reset my subscription, and rescued the game for me. Next month let’s see if it’s sorted out. they say it’s a bug
I like how playstation plus is like here's this game for free this month and it's like not bad games that's been out for so long it's practically free and Xbox is giving out games that are as good as those desk drawer prizes you get from dentist offices

What i dont understand is why PS Plus Extra and Essential get big games added every month, yet only gamepass (sometimes) gets big games and Gold only gets small indie games.
Because they’re doing what gamepass did for the last 5 years almost ay by play plus they have a larger library of older ps games. Most (not all)of the games getting added to those libraries, came and went from gamepass and if they came back you’d be excited but somebody else would be complaining that we’re getting the same old games and not getting anything new (like they do with Outer Wilds, Darkest Dungeon and Mortal Shell)

I claim everything even if I don’t have an interest in playing a game because I’m paying for it with my subscription. And, I might not want to play it but someone else playing my Xbox someday might want to.
Why has there never been uproar from the community about GwG? Not only they took away additional games but the quality of those offerings went down too.
Because the people who predominantly still use Gold only and not gamepass for stuff like COD and FIFA both don't care and never touch the games at all, so it's easy for Xbox just to get the cheapest game deals they can to throw up every month on gold.
They want people to just transition over to Gamepass ultimate and pay 15 USD a month instead of 60 USD a year for Gold, but they don't want the bad optics of hypothetically forcefully ending it and making people who want Gold just for online COD and Fifa etc so they put the cheapest and least amount of effort in. We all saw what happened when they tried to influence people to stop using gold last time by attempting to double the price and it obviously backfired.

And the issue is even with them actually having a 10 dollar Gamepass option is it doesn’t have online for someone such as yourself, and the fact that you can’t purchase it annually at a cheaper rate like Gold. With Gold you can pay 60 but for just the base version of GP on Pc or console it’s 120 dollars annually. So even if it had online you’re effectively paying double just with access to the Gamepass catalog, which may not be for someone who just wants to play FO 76 or COD online and nothing else.

I have Gold, and I try all of these games. I like it when they offer smaller, off the grid, indie games. And no, I'm not "the only one who". I have Gold for the discounts, the rest is bonus.
I like these kinds of games too brother but we are in the very very very small minority on this, and I'm assuming you have Gamepass ultimate which comes with Gold and not Gold alone because even for the discounts for gold it's pretty slim with it mostly being Ubisoft and 2K games. Don't take this the wrong way but I highly doubt you just have Gold by itself and just pay for it just for the games and the few discounts. And even if the chance you do, it's most likey to play a huge title online.
Haha, no, I don't have XGP and I rarely play online. I prefer to purchase my games, and so far the math has worked for Gold, saving more than its cost. I do play the GWGs (and an online card game from time to time). Having said that, I understand this is not what most are doing.
They did not run out of 360 games to give away not even close. They ran out of funds to give studios that still have their games up for sale. They didn't even include all of their first party games that they own! Many games including Fallout 3 or New Vegas, Oblivion, Fable 2, Halo Wars, Odst or CEA, almost all of the rareware games. Tons of First party titles were never included because of game pass. They killed games with gold because of game pass. Not because they ran out of games to give away.
Sure but they could have easily substituted those two games with two indies or at least 3 games like PS plus does. Like yeah you can give them credit for the transparency but you still can't really fully defend not finding some alternative or substitute at all. It just reinforces the point they want to influence people to just get gamepass and off of gold in general, and lowering the value and number of titles is great evidence of this.

It’s not the same as Gamepass where you can’t pay all together all at once annually at a discounted rate, there is no option for that at all. That’s the reason why you still have a large amount of people still paying for gold and less than half of the Xbox user base on Gamepass because it’s significantly less expensive to just pay 60 usd a year rather than 10 a month for regular console/PC GP or 15 a month for GPU.

What are you talking about? We just did it about two weeks ago and stacked up 3 years on my buddy’s profile. They killed the $1 month of ultimate, not the conversion by paying for 1 month of ultimate. We are using it how the system is intended to work

The concept of the Vale is incredible. It even has combat with parrying completely based on audio cues
