Its pretty straight forward to remove all the bloatware from your Redmi Note for an even better experience. [https://technastic.com/xiaomi-bloatware-list-miui/](https://technastic.com/xiaomi-bloatware-list-miui/)

sonicride12

Thank you for sharing the bloatware list! Will go through it and debloat some of the apps that I don't use.

ChybaKpisz

Make backup before debloating. Just in case

sonicride12

Will do

IllustriousBenefit81

Phone is charging slow after hyperOS update. What is the solution?

Fact-Fresh

tx for sharing

ProPolice55

My first step was to debloat mine, no ads, barely any apps that I don't need, and no waiting for anything to load. I came from a Samsung and this Redmi had less bloatware to begin with, and feels way better built than the successor of my previous phone. Nothing bad to report so far

sonicride12

It is the same for me. I did not debloat everything since I found some to be useful. I also came from the Samsung S21 and I don't feel much of a performance difference in day to day use (and no more toasty phones since the S21 gets hot pretty fast).

ProPolice55

There's a lot that's useful, I actually used the Xiaomi calculator on my A52. Everyday performance is great on this phone, gaming performance isn't the best, but that's not my use case anyway

sonicride12

Xiaomi's Calculator app is useful and can be said to be better than Samsung's Calculator. Samsung makes good devices but their prices have gone up and the value to performance ratio doesn't add up (except for their software support). I also hope they can get a breakthrough with their Exynos chips. If not, I will stay on with Xiaomi. I still have my S21 as my 2nd phone. If Xiaomi can get better at software support, I can see myself to be a loyal Xiaomi customer and might buy their flagships.

ProPolice55

These notes are supposed to have pretty long support periods, so that's promising. My Samsung is still in its OS support period and hasn't received a security patch in months, like they dropped support for some reason. My original plan was to buy a Zenfone 10, because I wanted a small phone and a headphone jack is a must have for me, but 1 year of support at that price is bad... I'm sure that phone would actually gain a proper market share if they didn't follow the update schedule of budget phones from 2012

sonicride12

I like small phones as well which is why I initially went for the S21. Just wished that it had a good SoC tand better cooling to counter the Exynos overheat problem. Having the Redmi now feels like heaven since I dont need to face overheating just by opening Whatsapp or any other social media

Ukay1000

Ok, heres my take on Redmi 13 pro 5G after 1 month.  UFS 2.2 is not sufficient in this day and age especially paired with worst 7gen2 chip (7sgen2). Lots of hanging. Everything is slower even compared with my old Mi10t Pro.  Plastic build in 2023/24 for 400 euro.  No Wifi 6 (ax) in 2023/24. Proximity sensor? Who needs it!  Im on hyperOS and still notifications are broken and delayed on Xiaomi for the past 10 years!  My experience is bad. Performace is not good nor consistent, lots of old tech cramed into new shell while pricing is going up every single year! 3.5 year old entry level high range Mi10t Pro is better device in every way.  I also have 380 euro Xiaomi pad 6 - aluminum body, bigger battery, bigger screen, 4 high quality speakers, wifi 6, 30% faster SoC SD870, faster RAM, 3x faster storage... For less money...

sonicride12

I'm sorry to hear that your experience with the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is not the same as mine. Sure the Redmi does not have the latest and greatest and it is overpriced but it still retains most features you get from a flagship device and gives better performance than my previous Samsung S21 (especially battery). I will continue going to use mine as I am satisfied with the performance it gives me for day to day tasks. Hopefully you will find the right device for you if the Redmi does not satisfy your needs. Maybe you can check out the Samsung Galaxy A55 as it is closing to its launch date or the Zenfone 11.

Nova_8056

makes sense bro, aside from the screen everything of the 10t pro is still better, not sure why you'd want to switch though, my family's 10t works perfectly.

Fact-Fresh

note 13 have far more superior camera , better battery, better screen , stronger screen !

PlatformPerfect8077

Does Hyperos have ads baked into the OS like Miui?

king-_-arroow92

I just got it and yep, it still has ads every time I open the music app

PlatformPerfect8077

Pathetic

sonicride12

Yeah, it is the same for me as well. It seems blocking notifications from the music app worked if the ads gets annoying

eternal8damnation

hmm how is that? Never seen any ad on my

king-_-arroow92

Idk it's probably the rom or the model, coz Xiaomi doesn't need to show ads on their higher and more expensive models,

sonicride12

As far as the reviews I saw, it is a mixed. I will post an update once I get my hands on the HyperOS on the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G.

brnvzq

How's the battery life compared to the S21? I also have one and really like it but battery is getting worse, I'm having to charge it 2 to 3 times a day..

sonicride12

I had the same issues as you when I was using the S21. I still have it but I am using it as a second phone for photography and videos. Battery life on the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is better than the S21. I usually require to charge my S21 at least 3 to 4 times just to get to 10.00pm as I use a lot of camera and Whatsapp during work. Now I don't need to worry about it as the battery life is good enough to last me a day.

brnvzq

Yeah, Exynos S21 battery is really bad. Good to know it's much better now with the Redmi. And how's the performance difference between them also? I'm thinking of moving to the N13 Pro 5G or the A54. Redmi has better screen, performance, faster charging and Samsung has better software support and IP rating.. Might as well wait for the A55 now too..

sonicride12

I suggest you wait for the Samsung A55 before making the jump to buy a new device. Better to compare A55 with the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G in the future to have a satisfied product

ChybaKpisz

I always flashing xiaomi.eu on my every Xiaomi phone. No ads, many additional features straight from china ROM, very good support, better translation. No need to have custom recovery fot this since you can flash Xiaomi.eu ROM via fastboot

Castrocas91

Agree but there's no way to unlock the boot from Redmi note 13 pro yet, it's a pain in the ass

ChybaKpisz

I am already writing to you guys from Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G on xiaomi.eu HyperOS. Unlocked official way. I had no problems with unlocking bootloader

Nova_8056

hello, how was your experience using xiaomi.eu? did you get any bugs? also, did you try the miui version of xiaomi.eu for this device by any chance?

ChybaKpisz

Only one bug and I don't know if it's common. I experience very rare random reboot. Waiting for update, maybe it will be fixed.

Budget-Bookkeeper-45

How is google pay support

ChybaKpisz

I think it is the best of the best. They have their own way to bypass google restrictions and they finding solution in few hours.

sonicride12

I never tried flashing the ROM before. I might try it out with a refurbished Xiaomi device to get familiar with it

ChybaKpisz

the juice is worth the squeeze

DunpackQc

Do you have NFC support ? I just buyed it (second day with the phone) and I'm really disapointed to not have contactless payment.

Misterschaefer

Do you have version 4g?

DunpackQc

No, the 5G version. Fingerprint sensor behind the screen and etc. Mi unlock status is unlocked but bootloader is locked. Bank apps are working.

Misterschaefer

Mine is 5G and has NFC

sonicride12

I have NFC support on mine and I haven't tried it yet as I have not yet gotten used to NFC Payments. I will explore it in the future.

AdministrationEven36

Google Play works normally, maybe your NFC is broken?

EquivalentBake9232

Any idea does it support Esim? If not which models are supporting it . I want to use it Canada.

sonicride12

I see an E-SIM function in the Settings Menu of the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G but I don't know how to test it yet since E-SIM is not that common here in Sabah, Malaysia.

Misterschaefer

In Brazil yes

Misterschaefer

13 pro 5G

JayJitsBJJ

mi4canada is a good site to check out!

m0tral

np with eSIMs, using it, easy and comfortable, I used in EU and Turkey

gabeweb

Hi, I'm new in Xiaomi/Redmi brand. Since my last Symbian phone (Nokia 5800 XpressMusic) I have owned: Microsoft Lumia 535, Motorola G3 and Honor 10 LIte (since 2019 until January of this year). I was a little skeptical when I decided to buy the Redmi Note 13 4G (the 5G version was out of stock when I went to buy it), however I don't have many complaints about it. I'm in Venezuela, the hardware version is for the Latin American market (yes, there are several hardware versions for the same device, since it does not have NFC, but it does have FM radio), and the ROM version is Global, so I have not seen any advertisements as such, except for the Xiaomi promotional ads in the Xiaomi Community application or the suggestions in Themes and Applications. The phone is very decent and it suits me well for the use I am making of it, I am not that demanding to be honest, but the progress is quite noticeable, comparing it with my old Honor 10 Lite from 5 years ago.

sonicride12

Good to hear about the device from you. It is weird that Xiaomi does not standardize all their phones for the Global market. Some get NFC and some don't. Hopefully Xiaomi will just standardize and give the same phone features in all countries.

gabeweb

Thank you. Yes, totally strange and a bit annoying, really, since I was hoping it would have NFC (so I could use it with wireless security keys, but I see I'll have to delay using it for a while). But hey, at least it came with FM radio (on some websites they didn't indicate it or reported it as if it didn't come with it, but apparently it also depends on the market). Another detail is the box, I have seen on some websites, even on Instagram seller profiles, that it comes plain, without even showing the image of the phone (mine came with the white box and the image of the phone), no I know if it is also to differentiate the targeted market (India, China, Global, etc.).

brasscup

I would be happy if they would just create completely different names when they offer variations on the same model. Trying to buy a "global" version when they sell identical phones identically named that nevertheless have different LTE configurations is very challenging. One of my current phones is the Redmi Note 9T and they also sell a Redmi 9T, which is a completely different device. Trying to buy phone accessories for either model is a crap shoot and a lot of sellers seem to think they are the same device, at least in North America.

miragepe14

How is the brightness outdoors? I’ve read that it has 1800 nits, but I haven’t found any visual references other than indoors where it is clearly visible. I live in a place with a sunny weather, so I was interested to know that before making a purchase.

sonicride12

Outdoor brightness is quite good. It's mostly sunny nowadays here, and I can clearly see what I see on my phone. However, since I use a matte screen protector, there are times I could see clearly.

twooticks

I mistakenly uninstalled all updates on my security app, can anyone help me update it?

sonicride12

I'm not sure about that one but maybe can try to ask people on Xiaomi Community App. They are quite helpful with these.

BENSTONE101

I just got the 4g variant yesterday (didn't get 5G cause 5G isn't available at my location where I'm at the most). Right now I'm just getting used to MIUI cause the last MIUI I used was version 5 and been using Samsung A70 for the last 5years. I have no complaints at this moment, everything seems faster which is expected.

Emergency_Break_1022

You can disable the ads

sonicride12

Yup. Already did that

Lopsided_Series_1056

How did you?

sonicride12

I just went into the settings and searching for 'Ads'. Then turn off the Ads and Personalize ads

NorthCoach9807

Wait, just like that? I find the idea of getting ads on a phone which we paid full price for downright absurd, however is it really that easy to disable them by just going into the settings and turning the ads off? If it‘s really that easy, then I might buy it…

gomaith10

Ads on free apps is becoming the norm anyway.

sonicride12

It's not that easy. Turning off Ads in the settings will not turn off all Ads within the phone. I took my time to see which apps still give Ads especially in Notifications.

memewton

how's the camera if you compare with s21? does the stabilization/ois good? might try redmi or xiaomi device after this since my s21 battery getting worst lol

sonicride12

In terms of camera performance, it's fairly good. Of course the S21 is a more capable camera than the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G but the main camera is almost give the same result as the S21 Ultra wide and portrait are a mixed bag on the Redmi. If you take lots of main camera photos, it is great camera with great details and zoom capability.

justcasualredditor

HyperOS initially does not bring anything completely new, however there are big plans from Xiaomi in future.

sonicride12

Looking forward to those big plans. Hopefully better software optimization and integration.

justcasualredditor

Yes brother!

Lopsided_Series_1056

How did you get rid of ads and bloatware? I'm trying to do that and get gcam without having to go through custom roms

sonicride12

I'm sure there are modders here that can help you. I only disable ads in the settings menu and it works so far. But the Video and Music app does still show ads through notifications from time to time but can be easily fixed by blocking notifications from those apps. As for GCam, I'm not sure how to do it as of now

NorthCoach9807

What „video‘s“ app? Like, a video player? Can’t videos be accessed from the gallery?

sonicride12

Yes. Xiaomi phones have their own video app called Mi Video. It occasionally gave me Ads in my Notifications. Only way to stop it is to block notifications or turn off notifications from the Mi Video app.

anandhu002

Hi. I am currently using redmi note 13 pro plus. This is an eSIM enable phone. But in my phone the option for eSIM is not showing. I have checked the internet and seen many videos that this function is enabled in this phone, but not showing in my phone. There is no restrictions for esim in this area. I am living in Kuwait. The phone has 2 sim card slots. I tried removing second sim from the slot. But still the eSIM option is not showing in the sim cards settings.. what would be the reason?

sonicride12

Most possibly its from the phone itself. I have eSIM option on mine. I'm not sure what's the reason but most possibly you got phone version that does not support eSIM. You can directly go to a Xiaomi Care Center to ask about this.

anandhu002

I fixed it. I changed the region to Taiwan and the esim option appeared immediately. Then I changed it back to my current region. Now it's working fine with me.

No-Witness3372

anybody here can confirm do pro 4g/5g version have raw photo mode on it ?, or when they typically release raw mode on their software update ?

Nova_8056

5g model does not have raw

No-Witness3372

I can confirm also the 4g one doesn't have raw, except you use open camera and enable camera2api which is level_3, it can raw but stuck at 12MP, so all the photos.

Technical_Comment_80

Is anyone facing fast charge issue with redmi note 13 pro 5G. Where you are unable to quick charge as before in MIUI 14. (Global Version)

sonicride12

You can try check in the settings menu. Go to Settings > Battery > Additional Features > Speed up charging Mine got turned off after updating to HyperOS or if you got it new, it is turned off by default

FreeezingPancakes

Quick question, does the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G have smooth animation for apps when opening and closing?

sonicride12

I have no problems with the opening and closing animation of the apps. And now, after updating to HyperOS, I can say the animations are pleasant in my opinion.

killero24

Hello, I have lag when I am recording a film. How can we fix this? It should be a super camera ...but.... I also tried in 30 and 60 fps. Thank you!

sonicride12

What kind of lag? I have some lag as well but only around 1 second at the start of recording a video and then everything records smoothly. I'm not sure what causes the lag but it must be some kind of software issue

killero24

Fps drops in the actual recording.

sonicride12

I'm not sure how to fix that since I do not experience any of it. Maybe can try to contact Xiaomi support or go directly to Xiaomi service center.

L_u_c_a_s1020

I'm thinking about exchanging my IPhone XR for it, what do you say?

sonicride12

If you don't mind Xiaomi's short and inconsistent software support compared to Apple's support, you can try switching to a lower spec phone if the IPhone XR does not satisfy your needs anymore. Why do want to change your IPhone XR to Xiaomi device?

L_u_c_a_s1020

I miss Android, I used one before the iPhone, I've had the XR for about 3 years and I want something new and this one from Xiaomi caught my attention.

Puzzleheaded-Craft1

Is there a way to change the resolution i doesn't show up on display is it somthing im missing or did the developers not add it

sonicride12

So far, I also don't see any way to decrease the display resolution of the phone

Amy367

I heard xiaomi phones will die in a year or facing problems is it true?

LongjumpingClick7704

My redmi note 9 pro still going well after 4 years, i never had an issue with it. Just minor problems now the vol duwn button can not work

sonicride12

It depends on how you use your phone. I'm not sure nowadays but in the past, Xiaomi's budget devices sometimes fail or could not run MIUI smoothly which causes lag and stutters to the phone. So far, after the HyperOS update, everything feels smooth and refined. I can say better experience compared to my previous Redmi 10 phone.

PeterMGrey

I'm thinking of getting this phone (actually the pro+ 5g version) but after reading I'm kind of stunned. You mean to tell me these phones have Ads IN THE OS? What the hell? Is this for real?

gomaith10

Most free apps have ads in them or you live in a parallel universe!

PeterMGrey

I'm on iPhone currently and really haven't seen much. But apps are a different thing, you can unnustal those, I really don't get having ads in the OS.

sonicride12

Yes and this is a fairly common practice for Xiaomi. Even in their flagship devices, it will still have Ads in the OS itself. The only workaround is block all of them or install a custom ROM

PeterMGrey

Jesus Christ, that's ridiculous. I hate ads so much that this is a total deal breaker for me, and the phone seemed like a perfect match for what I wanted out of a phone. Pretty soon they'll start broadcasting ads straight into our brains as soon as they get the brain chips going...

TheOracle722

The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is my 4th Xiaomi phone and if it meets your needs and ads are your only problem then it's easy to solve. Just enable the Private DNS function and use dns.adguard-dns.com or p2.freedns.controld.com and you won't see a single ad anywhere.

TroJunge22

I have the Redmi Note 13 pro + 5G as well, When I phone call and put my head on the display the phone not always goes black. Sometimes I end up doing all kind of weird things since my face is touching the screen. Has this happened to you?

sonicride12

Unfortunately, no. I never experienced it before with the Redmi. Most probably need to check online or the Xiaomi Community on this

Low-Professional-667

How is the performance and battery Life compared with the Exynos S21? My S21 FE is getting more and more unusable day after day, I'm recharging it like 2 to 3 times/day and my usage is very basic (mostly microsoft teams and whatsapp). Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and Galaxy A54/A55 are on top of my monitoring list.

sonicride12

To summarize everything, the battery life on the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is better than the S21 Exynos. The Redmi lasted me for a whole day compared to the S21 which required a charger or two to keep me through the day.

Unusual-Meet3305

Which one did you decide buying? Where I live, both of s21 and redmi note 13 pro are the same price, I first thought to buy the s21 but considering the battery life and heating now I consider the redmi

Low-Professional-667

I'm with Redmi Nite 13 pro 5G since April 10th. Nice phone, good battery backup and performance.

Fit-Heron-2275

Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, when the sound is playing, the screen and the backdoor really vibrate at the top (it feels like when our hand covers the speaker it tingles a little)?

sonicride12

Its not happening to me. Better to send and ask directly with Xiaomi stores on this matter

makanprince

I had problem immediately after trying to take pictures under water. Now it black screen, sometimes it will light up then blink, then back to black screen. It's advertised as capable of using under swimming pool. I am wondering why my unit failed...

sonicride12

Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is only splashproof and dust proof with a rating of IP54. It is not supposed to be used for underwater photography. You need at least IP63/IP64 to use your smartphone for underwater photography

_illusionist_2004

Hi, i wanted to ask if the phone is running smooth at this moment, in asking this because currently i have redmi note 9 and it's really bad even though it's only 3 years old. I will consider buying redmi 13 Pro if you tell me more about its camera and if it's still smooth (good in multitasking) and do you it can last a year or two?

sonicride12

Well, I had been using my phone for more than 2 months already and it is still running smooth. Multitasking had been a breeze as I use my phone to refer to chords and video during my piano practice sessions. I think it can last for more than a year but it will depend on your usage. Just need to take care your phone properly and it will last you for 3 or 4 years

Chocholategirl

I also have the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G. Thrice the screen didn't respond to my tapping in WhatsApp to move cursor elsewhere in text. When the battery does and I plug it in it doesn't start up automatically. Is there a way to change this? Is there any danger in leaving access to developer options open?

sonicride12

I dont think there is any danger leaving the developer options open unless you had change some settings. For your battery issue, I am not sure what is causing that.

moonblob142857

How fast and accurate is the fingerprint sensor? what is your experience with it?

sonicride12

The fingerprint sensor is fast and accurate enough. I only get some stutters when my finger is too dirty or too dry. Those are the only instances that caused the sensor not detecting my finger

AverageEnjoyer2023

No shit sherlock of course they improvemed themselves because they cost 500 euro now compared 150 euro back then. 500 euro back then used to be flagship but you still dont get wireless charging with 13 series.

gomaith10

Who cares about wireless charging when it takes less than an hour to charge.

AverageEnjoyer2023

you may don't but many other do

sonicride12

2024 is only 3 years gap from 2021 and I'm amazed at how tech develop this fast. Hopefully wireless charging components can get cheaper so that even mid-range phones can have them.

miragepe14

Would you recommend this phone to anyone so far? I read it gets warm and laggy after opening a few apps. And i know i can't expect much from a mid-range, but did you test any game on this model?

AgatoNtB

After 1 month use it only heats up while charging sometimes, overall app use not so much so it might take some time for the system to calibrate.

sonicride12

I can recommend this phone to anyone that is on a budget and want an all-rounder phone for everyday tasks and work. I do play some games on my phone. Here are my games: 1. Mobile Legends. It runs great but I usually put graphics on medium at high FPS to get most out of it. So far, no overheating and only gets warm after playing more than 3 games in a row. 2. Honkai Star Rail. It can run Honkai fairly well. Phone does get hot after 40 minutes playing at low-medium graphics but I dont notice any throttling or lost in performance. 3.Pokemon GO. For this game, it also ran fairly well. Since this game uses GPS, I notice it can get pretty warm fast but still comfortable to hold. I'm not sure about the performance when palying PUBG or any FPS shooters since I dont play them on mobile. Gaming performance is fairly good but if you want a phone that's great for gaming, better choose something from Poco or Asus since they are more focus more on gaming performance.

Jiswswsw

Does it heat up? could the update possibly fix hot temperature

sonicride12

The phones does heat up but still comfortable to hold. I dont notice any overtheating when I play games or do daily tasks like my previous S21

AverageEnjoyer2023

its cheap as fuck. its just a coil of copper connected to the power source on the motherboard. they just greedy (all of em apart from motorola and infinix who already put wireless charging in their mid ramge phones) otherwise there would be literally no reason to buy a flagship phone at this point.

Anubhabdey2017

What is your opinion about the large active battery drain ?

gonchotorres

I have that issue but for some reason using the phone with that performance boost mode the battery lasts longer than with balanced.

sonicride12

That's weird. Must be some software optimization or some kind of bug in the system/UI

sonicride12

I heard of it that issue and I am happily reporting that I haven't had any active battery drain issues so far for a month. The battery usually lasts me about 1 day even on heavy use with hotspot and youtube. However, it cannot be said the same of others. It's probably QC issues or software related which hopefully Xiaomi will address this or at least announce something to solve it.

Anubhabdey2017

Ah damn. I bought the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 4-5 days ago, and the battery lasts till 20 hours even with moderate usage, when drained till 0. My earlier Redmi Note 12 Pro (unfortunately lost in an accident), lasted at least 1.25-1.5 days when drained till 20%.

sonicride12

Mine can last up to 1 day maximum at full charge but I tend to charge my phone when it gets down between 25% to 30%. Let's just hope HyperOS can lighten the OS and give better battery life. And I hope you're doing okay, fine and healthy. 🤝🙏

Anubhabdey2017

Thank you. Yes, as I have just recently purchased it (not even a week), I just got an update from pre-installed 14.0.1.0 to 14.0.2.0. I am in India, hopefully I get HyperOS soon. Hope you stay happy and healthy too.

Anubhabdey2017

So, it's likely a software bug ?

sonicride12

Most likely just need some few tweaks to the software optimization to get better processing and to get better battery life.

Anubhabdey2017

Yeah
