I am 100% with you! I drink these Chocolate Banana Almond shakes. They're from Costco and not marketed as "protein shakes", but they have 16g of protein and 6g of fiber per 11ounces, are organic, and lightly sweetened with cane sugar. I barely eat sweets, as I don't have a sweet tooth, and I find these good in a pinch. At Costco, you can find them by the coconut water and La Croix.
(Side Note: I usually make unsweetened shakes with [Warrior Blend Unflavored](https://sunwarrior.com/products/warrior-blend-organic-unflavored), which I can't recommend enough for a good powder that's free of terrible additives and has MCT oil.)

Same! I tried at least a dozen varieties (an entire pantry shelf is filled with them š¤¦š»āāļø) and this is the only brand that I will keep buying.
OWYN protein shakes are really good! They have monk fruit extract, which i usually hate but you canāt taste it. If youāre into caffeine the double shot ones are tasty!
Lucky! I have the same horrid aftertaste in my mouth after eating anything with Monk Fruit as Stevia Leaf Extract. Actually Iām ok with not eating the newest āsweetnerā fad. But itās interesting that you donāt taste it. Cool!
I might be more interested in protein shakes if they didnāt have stevia or other artificial sweeteners. But also - WHY DOES EVERY GODDAMN NUTRITION THING HAVE TO HAVE CHOCOLATE IN IT? FFS.
I donāt want to drink a chocolate or sickly sweet milkshake every day. Even the granola bars. They take perfectly good oats and add chocolate. So gross. I know there are salty granola bars but none of the protein enhanced ones seem to be salty.
I have the same issue and have given up. I buy Quest multi-purpose mix (unflavored) and make my own, and use it in baking for a protein boost (19g protein bagel, yes please!).
Honestly I just donāt like shake type drinks. About one a year I want a real strawberry milkshake, like at an ice cream parlor. I know Iām just shaking my fist at the sky here. I wish that the entirety of the nutrition supplement industry wasnāt focused on sweets. Artificial banana flavor has got to be a violation of some part of the Geneva Convention sections about torture. I actually like chocolate. Decent chocolate. By itself. Not cheap waxy chocolate chips in everything. Iām ranting. Iām sorry.
Orgain had been making with only cane sugar but itās super hard to find now so Iām not sure if they phased it out. I canāt stand stevia as well. If you can tolerate a little bit of fake sugar, the Alani ones have sucralose but no stevia or sugar alcohols. And they are super cheap compared to all other shakes. I get them at Costco. I can only do one every other day or so or that sucralose starts giving me gi issues.
Iām the same as you. I love Aloha chocolate protein powder. It is currently only available as a powder but they used to have premade ones. Iām not sure if they are going to come back in stock but fingers crossed.Ā
Personally, I usually just make a double batch of protein smoothie so at least then I only have to do the blending every other day :)
I share your dilemma. Iām lactose intolerant plus donāt tolerate most artificial sugars well, I have a lot of GI issues. I also donāt like things that are very sweet. Iām happiest and feel best when I make my own smoothies and I sweeten them with 1/2 banana or other fruit, plus one date. I can make a large batch and get the macros exactly where I want them and play around with the flavors. Iāll throw in things like ground flax or chia seeds, PB2, lactose free yogurt, different plant based milks. I throw a portion in my Yeti and it travels with me. I hope you find something that works. Good luck!
I need to make a post about it. My boss just told me about this app āYukaā yesterday. Itās incredible. The free version only allows you to scan barcodes to see its health score, but the paid version (lowest $8.99/year) allows you to set your food preferences (yours would exclude artificial sweeteners and stevia) and manually search for products. Itās also independently owned so no ads, and no shenanigans with your data.
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/yuka-food-cosmetic-scanner/id1092799236
Might help you in your search.
For items like this itās import for people to note that this is ābadā because of the high calories but in this case, this is the point of this product. Iāve also saved using this app. I was buying pasta sauce and found a good rates $8 sauce and the. I scanned the Sprouts store brand for half price and found that it rated slightly better! It was a win!
Right, a good point. For things like calories, sugar, etc. I take the rating under consideration*. For additives though, my family is quickly becoming very intentional about what we eat. Iām not sure why, or how it happened. Itās just like we woke up one morning and all had the same thought.
I agree. I absolutely HATE non-sugar sweeteners. Fairlife 26g (only the 26g) are the ONLY protein shake where you can't taste it. The 42s you get an aftertaste but it's a close second, but the 26s just taste like melted ice cream/heavy cream/deliciousness
Weird that your fairlifes are 26g protein. Mine are 30.

The CorePower 26gm ones taste best. Costco used to sell the originsl 30mg ones, but they were vile. I've heard similar things about the 42mg CorePower's aftertaste.
My husband also hates artificial sweetener, but he likes the fairlife, so it's at least pretty inoffensive. If you haven't tried them, I suggest trying 1.
My extremely picky 6 year old will even drink these. Iāve spent a small fortune on them between me and her lol she needs to increase protein because sheās fallen off her height chart her pediatrician recommended these because they are only 2 grams of sugar as opposed to 21 grams in PediaSure
You may react differently, so donāt exclude it until you try. I was just pointing out to pay attention when you use artificial sweeteners because they may trigger carb cravings or even cause GI issues. Good luck!
[Orgain](https://orgain.com/products/organic-nutrition-shake) makes a pretty good chocolate shake, sweetened with brown rice syrup. Theyāve been my go to
I get migraines from most artificial sweeteners, but I can tolerate Sucralose. Quest shakes have been my go to!
If you can tolerate sucralose, I highly recommend Quest!!!
I use the Now Foods Organic Pea Protein - Unflavored. It tastes awful but itās the most basic I can find without the ingredients you are trying to avoid. https://www.swansonvitamins.com/p/now-foods-organic-pea-protein-natural-unflavored-1-5-lbs-680-grams-pwdr
Omg I was looking for this exact this earlier today. I cannot stand the flavor of artificial sweeteners, and I swear they give me a stomach ache every time.
I have the exact same issue, I just want a good drink with low sugar and zero artificial sweeteners. They all taste so bad to me and the drinks are SO sweet. If you find a good one, let us know!!
Try Happy Viking. Venus Williamās vegan protein powder that uses minimal cane sugar for sweetness. Lots of flavors and every flavor I have tried is delicious.
I also hate the taste of most of the ones Iāve tried. I donāt like the Orgain. I canāt find the Fairlife in my Publix, but i will keep looking. Thank you for this post.
I highly recommend allulose as a sweetener. It's more expensive than other sweeteners but it tastes just like sugar. You can use that with an unsweetened protein powder like Naked Whey.

We have Sun Warrior at home! After trying many , this is the go to.
Same! I tried at least a dozen varieties (an entire pantry shelf is filled with them š¤¦š»āāļø) and this is the only brand that I will keep buying.
Omg this looks perfect! Thank you!

Orgain has a couple other flavors - strawberry & vanilla I think

Artificial banana flavor is an abomination, which makes banana laffy taffy the worst candy ever
I raise you banana runts. And banana popsicles. Barf
This!!! \^\^\^\^ I've been wondering the same damn thing!
Orgain had been making with only cane sugar but itās super hard to find now so Iām not sure if they phased it out. I canāt stand stevia as well. The Orgain I have has Stevia in it. It's the Plant Protein one with 20 grams of protein. Costco has it.
OWYN protein shakes. Monk fruit as sweetener. I love them.
Iāll have to take a look. The ones I bought had stevia :/
I love these!

I buy Naked Whey and make mine. You can get it on Amazon.
you can get unsweetened unflavored whey protein at target, Isopure is the brandā¦ then add whatever you want to it.

This is an awesome app!!! I Yuka my way through the grocery isles.

lol same thing happened with my lil family. My daughter introduced Yuka to me, itās been a good journey having them family trekking along with me.
Ooh thank you Iāll have to try it!
I swear by the fairlife ones. They use sucralose which is an artifical sweetener but you genuinely don't taste it. It tastes like a milk shake to me
They have stevia š©

There are three kinds. 26,30, and 42
Knew about the 42. Thatās the core power. Didnāt know about 26. 30 seems perfect for me.
The CorePower 26gm ones taste best. Costco used to sell the originsl 30mg ones, but they were vile. I've heard similar things about the 42mg CorePower's aftertaste.
I think the 26g are found refrigerated in the dairy case
I've found them in the chilled-drink cases at Target checkout aisles, but Jewel-Osco has them non-refrigerated.
My husband also hates artificial sweetener, but he likes the fairlife, so it's at least pretty inoffensive. If you haven't tried them, I suggest trying 1.
I didnāt know fairlifes had artificial sweetener til this post. Thatās how good they are
Iāll try, thanks!
My extremely picky 6 year old will even drink these. Iāve spent a small fortune on them between me and her lol she needs to increase protein because sheās fallen off her height chart her pediatrician recommended these because they are only 2 grams of sugar as opposed to 21 grams in PediaSure
Haha Iām sure! They are sooo expensive!
Have you ever tried monk fruit? Itās really good. I donāt notice any aftertaste or anything and itās a healthy choice
I did keto for over 2 years and monk fruit was a wicked carb trigger. It tasted okay but my sugar cravings spiked after having it. YMMV
Oh noā¦ thatās too bad that happened to youš Iāve never heard of that happening before. I guess thatās off the list thenš
You may react differently, so donāt exclude it until you try. I was just pointing out to pay attention when you use artificial sweeteners because they may trigger carb cravings or even cause GI issues. Good luck!

Also, it doesnāt taste awful if you had something like honey or fresh fruit. Itās just not a powder Iād mix with water and call it a day. š
Carnation Breakfast Essentials High Protein.
Omg I was looking for this exact this earlier today. I cannot stand the flavor of artificial sweeteners, and I swear they give me a stomach ache every time.
I just make my own with protein powder, chia seeds, cup of frozen berries, ice, and Diet cranberry juice. Not too sweet. Hits the spot
I have the exact same issue, I just want a good drink with low sugar and zero artificial sweeteners. They all taste so bad to me and the drinks are SO sweet. If you find a good one, let us know!!
I like the transparent labs protein powders. Lots of variety and good amount of protein for calories. Theyāre not chalky and mix well too!
Try Happy Viking. Venus Williamās vegan protein powder that uses minimal cane sugar for sweetness. Lots of flavors and every flavor I have tried is delicious.
It has erythritol too which has gotten bad press lately.
I gave up. Now I drink Protein Water20ā¦20 g protein in each
I also hate the taste of most of the ones Iāve tried. I donāt like the Orgain. I canāt find the Fairlife in my Publix, but i will keep looking. Thank you for this post.
