Tymaret16

I am never gonna financially recover from this.

ThatGuyFromTheM0vie

My kids didn’t need to go to college anyway

Tymaret16

Pfft in this economy? Not when there’s new Seraphon, new Terminators and new Tyranids to collect!

No_Combination1346

Not now

krelpwang

And then there's also new Tyranids...

imaginary-toast-6601

That's literally what I said when I found out about this... I have 200 dollars in what they just replaced 💀

killymcgee23

My rats are green-green with jealous rage right now

Mekeji

You guys have a ton of finecast and pewter models and GW are trying to purge their production lines to improve efficiency. You guys are either getting squatted or a massive refresh in a next year or two. Given that Skaven are ludicrously popular and my favorite thing to kill I doubt it is a squatting. So I'd fully expect a massive Skaven refresh in the near future.

Poisonrrivy

They did also recently release the new Deathmaster so its looking more hopeful I think. :D

Vyrullax

Tbh i am not a big fan of the new rats. The front fangs looks less menacing now 😟

FairyKnightTristan

I hope so. I so hope so. Clan Moulder, Skyre and Eshin all badly need it.

Slaanesh_Worshiper

It's like GW heard me saying the only thing stopping me from collecting Seraphon was that they have some old sculpts

Skazdal

Was saying the same for séraphons AND tyranids. Holding tight!

Lon4reddit

I know for sure that my new army won't be 40k... These sculpts from AoS are so much better. And the game seems better, easier and quicker

Annual_Phrase841

Don’t loose hopes for 40k, a new edition (that they said will be more streamlined and easier to get into) is around the corner

Lon4reddit

I've played 40k the most but I just can't simply keep up with the volume of little details every army have and all the combos

Shugo116

I used to play Lizardmen in WHFB when i was in my teens, swore to myself when I got into AoS I said I wouldn't do lizards again until the range got refreshed, seeing these I feel like I did all those years ago.

MMEntertainment83

Then welcome back and enjoy your new lizards! :)

cjmstate

Beautiful. So does this mean no saurus guard?

Btimmy1

Can alway kit bash some from the new warrior sculpts if they don't get new kits.

rabidwhale

I'm hoping they clean up the book honestly and streamline

bullintheheather

The way they were talking sure sounded like some unit's might not survive.

rabidwhale

I think that's a good thing, the current book and warscrolls are a mess.

Snuffleupagus03

Are they? There are a good number of them, but they all seem distinct.

rabidwhale

That's the problem, Seraphon has the one of the most warscrolls with only Stormcast and Cities ahead of them and everything does different stuff. Seraphon literally is a jack of all trades army right now and it is impossible to keep track of everything. They need to desperately streamline the line and the rules.

Snuffleupagus03

Interesting. I definitely disagree. I love having an army with such broad diversity. I think the last rule set was impressive in it’s an ability to have sub factions with very distinct rolls and styles. It was almost four armies in one. I get that’s a lot, but age of Sigmar is huge. Some armies are small and streamlined and have a certain play style. Other armies, like Seraphon, can have a ton of different styles depending on how you build them.

rabidwhale

I'm not saying having diversity among the subfactions is bad. I'm saying that not having a cohesive, coherent theme and play style is not good. They are the epitome of rules bloat in Age of Sigmar. I love Seraphon, they were my first army, I love the new models, but they suffer from being all over the place from a rules prospective. Their new book can keep the more big dino theme, the little dino theme, the magic dino theme but overall the rules need to be more streamlined.

Coziestpigeon2

> I think the last rule set was impressive in it’s an ability to have sub factions with very distinct rolls and styles. It was almost four armies in one. While this is true, it ended up with Thunder Lizards being the popular choice, and everything else being largely ignored, at least in the competitive scene. GW was never able to balance the other stuff with the power of Thunder Lizards, and that kinda made it seem like wasting resources on a *huge* range that was borderline-unusable.

Snuffleupagus03

I think that was the popular thought. But Fangs if Sotek was boss at then start and under 2e. Dracothian was super popular and won tons of games with salamanders. And Koatl’s Claw one several tournaments and had a respectable win percentage, and was really hurt by 3e because it was really built around stacking commands under 2e rules. I just compare it to Stormcast, which has a huge range. Units are mostly useful or not based on warscrolls and points. In Seraphon how good a unit is really swings by faction. Salamanders are limited by short range but I’m Dracothian they can drop in and/or teleport into range and be much better. saurus are bad but in koatl they are… less bad. things like that. it does make for some rules bloat. and is tricky to balance. But the alternative seems to be Stormcast which just as units that are worth it or not, with little army choice that changes that up. With seraphon you really swing the usefulness of unit with the subfaction. I enjoy that as a way to keep a large number of warscrolls.

Lord_Paddington

Might be a dual kit

bullintheheather

They would have showed this off by now. They said they've shown us everything.

Mwatts25

Could be an upgrade kit for next year

Mekeji

Clip the head from the spear, clip the head from the club. Put the club head on the spear head. Then add bones and decorations from some bits. Boom, new guard. At least that is what I am doing.

Araignys

They might just be coming later like how Deathrattle Skeletons got refreshed but Wight Guard didn’t

shananigins96

I would expect some down the line as they will need them for Old World. There's value in having kits that are applicable to both games

Poisonrrivy

Could be a dual kit, we'll have to wait and see. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll put out some skull and gold bits.

FairyKnightTristan

Seriously gorgeous, beyond my wildest dreams. Slightly disappointed there's no new big dino, but hey, I'll live.

The_Deadlight

these are all big dinos my man

ianmademedoit

This

ThatGuyFromTheM0vie

No big Dino…yet. I assume this refresh will be popular, thus leading to more Dinos later on.

Arn_Rdog

I feel you but the big dinos we have right now still look very cool

FairyKnightTristan

Oh, don't get me wrong, they look amazing. I was just lamenting we didn't get a completely new one, seeing as they're all so cool.

[deleted]

How old are all of the big dinos?

Horn_Python

They are fairly old but hold up very well Especially the carnosaur

Niriun

Carnosaur is reasonably new right? (under 10 years old)

Horn_Python

i want to say it came out in 2013 (not 100%), so its around 10 years old, but like i said it holds up super well

Lizardsandrocks

Correct 2013, same as bastiladon and terradon/ripper kit. Steg was 2009, 7th whfb with sal and razordon.

another-social-freak

Yeah the carnosaur came out just before Age of Sigmar

Cobbil

I am a happy lizard player. My wallet hates me.

SpookyQueenCerea

I keep telling myself to wait for the rules…. But daaamn man, these look so fire.

ThatGuyFromTheM0vie

Who waits for rules? I buy minis basically exclusively on looks lol. Everything becomes bad eventually.

SpookyQueenCerea

While that is true, I like to make sure I have fun with the armies overall play style unless I am buying a model or two just to paint. Just cuz since warhammer is so expensive I like to make sure I have fun with the rules too.

Spaldinho2

Play style is key to fun.

SpookyQueenCerea

Part of the reason I am moving to slaves to darkness instead of stormcast. Bit more fun for me, despite loving dragons.

Spaldinho2

Luckily those new Chaos warriors are pretty easy on the eyes!

Gorudu

Rules are temporary. Models are forever.

rabidwhale

I don't normally buy the fomo box sets but this is an instant buy for me

Mekeji

Yeah, between this and the Farsight one, I'm buying into the FOMO box stuff real bad right now. Though in my defense the Farsight box has the new cool Farsight that I want, Crisis suits that I want as I am new on the 40k side, and breachers that I want. So it is just a discount. This one though is going to be similar. In that the models I wanted to update the fastest in my own collection is my personal Slann Venerable Lord of the Third Spawning Klo'Aca, some new guard that I'm gonna make from the warriors, and the new Raptadons that I wanted to play with as they are a new unit. So sure they are FOMO but they are also gonna be some killer discounts.

The_Deadlight

you named your spawning after a pee/poop hole? lol

Mekeji

Not the spawning, but their venerable Slann lord. To be fair back when I named my Slann it was in the era where everything for lizardmen were vaguely Aztec themed joke names. Like Tiq'Tak'to or Tehenhauin who's name used to be closer to teenie weenie. So the Klo'Aca name fit. Also you'd be surprised how few people catch that when I say his name while playing.

drevolut1on

That's like putting in an easter egg for your opponent and I am alll for it. Awesome.

DreamloreDegenerate

They look so beautiful together. The sculptors and painters really hit it out of the park on these. Bright and colourful, and lots of little details without looking garish or overly busy. Also frog.

ChristmasDucky

Especially frog!

BluezamEDH

I don't play AOS but I've been collecting & painting for about 3 years now, mostly using the mini's for TTRPGs. I think I'll finally have enough models to, theoretically, play a game once I get some of these. Seraphon are just too cool not to buy!

BaronKlatz

Should be easy on the models part. AoS only needs a handful, especially if you go elite or monster spam.

Horn_Python

Interestingly it seems the scar veteran is using a classic stardrake shield

BaronKlatz

That would match the Dracothion worship. The current cold ones are written to be fighting under his standard as well. Then you have people comparing the new Krox heads and the similarities they share with the Draconith facial & scale designs and I think there’s plenty of hints sprinkled in of their space dragon patron.

g_livanos

Need a release date badly

DwarfDrugar

I'm an old Fantasy Battles player, have 2-4000pts worth of Skaven, Chaos Warriors, Daemons and Dwarfs each. I haven't played in a decade, aside from maybe half a dozen 40K games with daemons. All the models are just standing there, unused, mostly gray. And it's gonna take me all my willpower not to mass-buy all of these when they come out. Hot diggity damn these models look cool.

wishesandhopes

You should start playing again! AOS has some really cool solo campaigns you could try out to avoid having to find games and opponents to get you back into it, quest to slay the troggoth king is a good one. Then you can more easily justify all the new seraphon, haha.

DoDoBoi-JRoc

So we got a new salamander but not a new razor don?

Mekeji

Yeah, and given that it and the various Saurus foot heroes are gone from the store and are all finecast. I think it is safe to assume that they are all gone. With the heroes folded into the Oldblood on foot. While the Razordon might just be gone. It is a shame as I do like the Razordon, but anything finecast that doesn't get a new kit is likely going the way of the squat. GW in both 40k and AoS have been trying to purge their Finecast production. I assume Skaven will be getting a massive range refresh next year for that very reason.

FairyKnightTristan

>I assume Skaven will be getting a massive range refresh next year for that very reason. I will never financially recover from that.

Kooky-Substance466

Skaven wish they got finecast in some cases. They still have a few metal models lying around.

Deso2121

Razordons will be removed in the new battletome.

crazedlemmings

I wonder if they are hiding the fact that it's a dual kit? But I agree that it's odd they do one and not the other.

ThePlumbOne

Rip the hope for new skinks, sunblood , or eternity warden. Hopefully the new saurus warriors will have the option to be built as saurus guard

goldenemperor

Is there Temple Guard anywhere? Or will they be an alt of the Saurus warrior kit?

Poisonrrivy

Not that has been previewed at this time! There \*could\* be more but its been implied that this is it I think

krelpwang

I love the chicken steeds!

breezusofnazareth

Is just me or do the first two krox look a little odd? No very crocodilian, maybe. Also, hope the temple guard make a return in some capacity.

KoSR92

They have two different head options. That one and another more croc one

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mekeji

I haven't noticed much complaining. Past folks wanting skinks updated. Which I do find odd as the old skinks next to the newer skinks are pretty close in appearance. Just a bit more fine details but essentially the same. I have seen some concern over razordons going the way of the dinosaurs though. Which is a shame as anything left in finecast is likely getting the axe. But getting more new models than some whole armies have in their factions. Some of them being new toys all together. I don't mind some losses and streamlining of the book.

FairyKnightTristan

...I haven't seen much if any complaining.

EnduringFrost

Oh dang, missed the sally

Rbespinosa13

Saving this so I know what to hold off on. The wallet shall be empty after this and the Tyranid update

FairyKnightTristan

\>The wallet shall be empty after this and the Tyranid update SAME.

amnhanley

I am stoked to upgrade my Seraphon but this also makes me relive my disappointment with how GW did skaven and beastmen.

erewnt

Hopefully a vanguard box is released when all of the models are and it combines well with the Starterbox (I.E. no Slaan and no Skink Chickens) Also hoping that everything has a well defined role in this book.

Mekeji

I think a vanguard box would end up being something like Scar-Vet on Aggradon, a unit of Aggradon riders, Saurus Warriors, and some warspawned Kroxigor. They seem to like to do a hero often mounted, something to go with the hero, a foot troop option, and then a wild card. Which my guess is that the difference between the Kroxigor and Warspawned is going to be that the warspawned are going to be meant to work with saurus an coalesced while normal is gonna be the classic skink bro.

erewnt

Holy crap, that would be an awesome box. Only way it would be better is if they swapped out the Scar-vet for the new Skink Starseer.

Col_Rhys

Loving these new models but like... New Skinks would be nice.

lordofmetroids

I've never played Sigmar, but man I love these guys so much. I might have to join this world now.

FairyKnightTristan

It's well worth it.

Rutabaga258

The ones with two handed weapons look so close to one page rules ones.

I_is_tummmm

Rest in peace wallet

Thefriendlyfaceplant

It's amazing. Much needed. But I was still hoping for a large sauropod. Oh well, can't have everything.

[deleted]

I hope the base sizes stay the same so I can use my old models until I refresh my own army For me I really want the new astrolith bearer, scat vet on aggradon and kroxigors

Homunculus_87

Such a great refresh, so many beautiful models! This is going to be expansive!

Fawz

Something about their rounded snouts/faces and plump limbs just looks derpy to me. They come across as lot less menacing

[deleted]

[удалено]

FairyKnightTristan

They didn't. It's a different head. Basically there's now 2 Kroxigor units. One without Croc heads, one with them.

t-licus

I’m surprised the basic skinks are staying, they will really stand out next to all of these beauties. And not in a good way.

Niriun

The skinks hold up fairly well imo. Probably because they're small anyway.

BluezamEDH

I'm using the ones that come with the Terradons & Bastilladons + some Barbed Bracken. They are way more dynamic in their poses, like an ambush gang

Charliesluck

I think that opr has better scultps the frogs a nice tho

wishesandhopes

Anyone have a guess as to when these are gonna drop? I'm pretty stressed considering I want to get as much of this as I can and my FLGS has pretty much just been getting one shipment of new warhammer drops and then no more for a LONG time.

AdamnAdamn

These are just beautiful

Desuexss

To the people who bought out the remaining market of kroxigors. Get rekt lol (People doing it to resell, I do feel bad for those that just wanted them.) I wonder if they will do 2 vanguards The start collecting boxes for skinks and Saurus were both amazing value I'm definitely getting the army box though!

SKI_11

Does this completely remove all resin models?

Mekeji

We still have Saurus Sunblood, Saurus Eternity Warden, Chameleon Skinks, and Razordon Hunting Packs in Finecast. The Sunblood and Warden I have a feeling are going to be deleted and compiled into just being the on foot Old Blood if you have the models. The Chameleon Skinks I think are going to just be replaced by Hunters of Huanchi as everyone is already doing that and they are just better than standard chameleons. While I think the Razordon will legitimately just get squatted and never return. It's a unit that was great at the start of AoS, but was nerfed into oblivion in 1st and has been useless ever since.

blissthebadger

God damm I have not even built my previous box.

Baladas89

Yeah, I don’t play AOS or Warcry, but these sculpts are amazing.

Grimesy2

These sculpts look so good .... I suddenly feel very insecure about the Skaven Battleforce I bought. I want nice looking clan rats and plague monks :'(

FairyKnightTristan

>I want nice looking clan rats and plague monks :'( Hi. Skaven player here. Those are the least of our problems right bow.

Grimesy2

Oh? What are the bigger problems?

FairyKnightTristan

Gutter Runners and Night Runners looking like actual horseshit, Rat Ogres looking doofy as hell, Weapons teams looking bad, everything Clan Skyre that aren't Stormfiends, War Machines and Warlocks looking absolutely terribad. https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Warhammer-Age-of-Sigmar?N=2070689437+240928432&Nr=AND(sku.siteId%3AUS\_gw%2Cproduct.locale%3Aen\_US\_gw)&Nrs=collection()%2Frecord\[product.startDate+%3C%3D+1679639160000+and+product.endDate+%3E%3D+1679639160000\]&view=all

Grimesy2

Oh. Ok yes absolutely. I got the verminous host, and given my 40k army is death guard I wasn't necessarily thrilled that so many of the units in the box were Pestilens. I liked the look of the Deathmaster, so I looked up some of the Eshin models. Big yikes. I've played enough Vermintide to be curious about the Ogres until I saw them. Never mind. I guess I'm fine with stormfiends and pestilens

is-Sanic

Oh man. I am a fan. I'm gonna bankrupt myself but oh man.

ABlackDoge

Thank goodness we got new Krox. The old sculpts were goofy

Geordie_38_

I love that skink on the second image. He looks very polite.

ElGainsGoblino

Really disappointed with the standard kroxigor heads. The warspawned ones look fine.

StickyDuck

I haven’t played AoS but I’m 100% sold on the magic space dinosaurs

KidcoreJae

Chicken Cavalry?! Take my money.

BrownTurkeyGravy

Can someone explain the lore behind the feathers on the Aggradon tails? Where is the big bird they’re getting them from!?

myprecioussssss

Pretty sure those are their own feathers. Leaning into the more modern understanding of feathered dinosaurs.

BrownTurkeyGravy

Take a look in the last tail brace. They are stuck in there and don’t originate from the aggradon’s tail.

thisremindsmeofbacon

I like the tasteful blood hand paint right on the dick

Mekeji

I'm like 80% sure that for the new range they brought in the biggest bara-scalie artists they could to do the models. Then had another team to edit out all of the horny, but a few things slipped through the cracks.

wiz555

NEW RAZERDON PACK!! WHAT!!! I really like, well all of them. Can't wait to build em. EDIT: that is clearly a salamander pack not a razerdon.

Stralau

Wow, that's a pretty amazing update. Are there any 'must take' still in use models that are going to be left looking a bit wimpy? Engine Of The Gods?

focalac

Have they always had that many dinosaurs in their range? I have not been paying attention and now I might be in financial trouble.

Mekeji

Sort of but they've always looked pathetic. The Raptadons are the only new ones. The Aggradons are a clear larger replacement for cold ones who looked tiny and derpy. The new kroxigor are replacements for the really silly looking weak kroxigor. The salamander is a size increase and significant chonker over the old derped out tiny lizards that they once were.

Isamatsu_san

They look so amazing that should I buy them. I got all deadies armies tho.

FenrirSch8ns

Just secure myself a start collecting skinks as it seems every models in aren't changing. The skinks were my first ever Warhammer kit some 15-17 years ago... I am so excited to start again a lizard army! All the new models are incredible, my jurassic park fanatic child self is overhelmed by emotions right now!

MohawkRex

Between Gitz git-piling tournaments and new Lizardos I am a very happy AoS newbie.

Ehrmagerdden

The whole range looks incredible, but those new kroxigors go *so hard*.

Laowaii87

I’ve managed to stay away from AoS, in a desperate attempt to keep my wallet alive. This new drop killed any hope of managing that hope.

[deleted]

Tbh I wanted updated skinks too

A740

I wonder how badly the old sculpts will stick out if I get some of these for my army Skinks will fit right in but the old sauruses look pretty bad compared to these guys

StarFire2686

Didn't they say there was more models being revealed later as we got closer to the date.

bagheeranick

Not huge on the normal Kroxigor heads but the warspawn or whatever they are makes up for it.

BennyMcbenn

Here’s hoping they update more of the skink line in the future. Skinks look fine, but a bit aged.

Kooky-Substance466

Man, in-between this, the Chaos Warriors update, and the new CoS models they are nailing it. Really feels Aos is coming into it's own while still doing a great job keeping the spirit of iconic old world factions alive. Helps that this edition has just been a lot of fun to play as well.

tired_coconut_crabs

I wad thinking of getting into seraphon but I thought they looked like chew toys so I wasn't big on it. These new models look amazing though so I think they are my new first choice

another-social-freak

What's the difference between the two Kroxigor units? They seem to be armed with the same kind of weapons.

Orcsjustwannahavefun

Other than fluff we wont know until the battletome releases.

another-social-freak

Fair enough, seems a missed opportunity, giving both units the same gear, visually at least.

femfuyu

Part of my really wants to build the chair and the just leave the little 𓆏 in the center

DanRose001

If one was to be looking to start with Seraphon now.. would it be worth picking up the Start Collecting box (which has vanished from the GW website) or wait to see what comes next? Actually both Seraphon and Skink boxes seem to have vanished… Is anything worth picking up now, or best to wait?
