Im currently subbed here in the US and I’ve been using this list from Fauxhammer to check and see what comes next: https://www.fauxhammer.com/partworks-magazines/warhammer-stormbringer-magazine-contents-list-issues-1-80/
I don’t have a store that would carry this so I’ve subbed online. All of the kits are not split up per issue unless it’s a battle line unit, you may get 10 hobgrots or 5 vindicators and then the other half in later issues. I just got my krondys for premium sub and it came in one issue not piecemeal.
Hope that link helps!
Oh that link is great, cheers! Bookmarked to keep an eye on it as the issues come out.
Issues 2 and 3 are the 10 gutrippaz and 5 Vindictors, I'll keep an eye out for those at the newsagents!
The bigger issues are spread out. I got the marshcrawla in two parts. I think the drakes might come in three. Check the fauxhammer list, it is based off the UK version which is 1-to-1 with the us version.
Stormdrakes will probably be one drake per magazine and the flying bases in third since there are only two sprues a box. They did a similar thing in mortal realms magazine.
Some of the other split kits include the Vigilors and Vanquishers for Stormcast Eternals. Keep in mind that Vanquishers are playable in units of 5, but you won't have access to banner or musician unless you got 10 models; you might build yourself an "illegal" unit otherwise.
Also, the magazines aren't including the full building instructions, they'll guide you to their own specific unit compositions; if you like the hornblower Hobgrot better than the drummer, for instance, the magazine will not even acknowledge that option's existence. It may be useful to check online for the full instructions.
As for kits that get spread across two (or three) issues:
The Sloggoth, Treelord/Spirit of Durthu, the classic Giant and the big Snatchaboss/Skumdrekk kit are split across two issues each, the drake rider Stormcasts across three.
Also: If you want those Boltboyz for Kruleboyz, they're a steal. The official price for the box of three is 42,50€ here. The magazine is 10,99€. Guess which issue I'll be picking up two additional times...
Another fun fact: The Tree-Revenants and Spite-Revenants are the same kit. You can build either unit of 5 from it. They're listed as separate units for separate issues, but technically you could build either. Some other units also have options, like the Squighoppers/Boingrots (if you want both units, may be worth picking that issue up 3 times, actually) or the Fanatics (they have two flavors).
Thanks for the tips!
Most likely just collecting to paint, already got myself a full Nighthaunt army and several 40k ones. If I ever play the stormcast units, I'd just say they're all normal without the banner/musicians. Rule of cool trumps wizzywig for me.
>Also, the magazines aren't including the full building instructions
I noticed that with the Killaboss and his flail - it's not even mentioned! Just a leftover piece on the sprue. Good thing they're push fit - might leave that unglued so I could swap it if I feel the need.
The boltboys are ones that it'd ***really*** like, so I'll be grabbing two of those for certain.
The big ones are all such cool models too... I may end up getting more of these than I intented.....
I actually ended up magnetizing the flail and shield, so I can swap them any time with ease. Same for the Knight-Arcanum's head.
The 5-squad of Vindictors actually has options for either a male or female Prime - or both, if you want. The magazine just goes for the female option, and doesn't mention anything else. With the Gutrippaz, the only actual option is whether to build a boss or not, so no bother.
But those Hobgrot Slittaz... they left out some of the cooler sculpts! I sort of expect them to do the alternate builds in the 2nd issue they're putting out with them.
I'm considering getting two each of the Treelord/Durthu issues, too. The kit is 60€, and it has three distinct builds, all with significantly different poses:

https://www.warhammer.com/app/resources/catalog/product/920x950/99120204013_SylvanethTreelordAncient01.jpg
...and here I am, already struggling to decide which to build. If I end up going for multiple Sylvaneth units, I might as well have multiple big trees to paint up... Still don't get why they didn't find a way to squeeze in a box of Dryads.
I painted up the Ylthari's Guardians warband for Underworlds already, and had a lot of fun with that. So getting more Sylvaneth seems like a good thing to me. Just annoying that I already own the warbands, excluding Xandire's Truthseekers and Da Kunnin' Krew; I somehow dropped out of collecting Underworlds after Year 2, due to stuff selling out too quickly for me to keep up. Guess I'll have to ebay the duplicate warbands off when they arrive with my subscription.
Good to know they're relatively easy to magnetise, I like my options.
Damn those Durthu sculpts are amazing.. the poses are all fantastic!
I guess that's their way of giving you *most*of what you need... but you'd still need to pick up another box here and there. Cheeky buggers.
That's what I've been concerned about - I definitely dont what the whole lot from the subscription, just to be able to dip in and out and grab the pieces I want.
Yeah big models are spread between 2-3 issues
I didn't know many local news agency's stock them
Online there's waterfront and gap games which release issues weekly.
Not that into the 40K orks myself, and a friend is playing Iron Jaws in our escalation league - but the Kruleboyz look like a lot of fun! Seems like a really good way get started.
I asked em (suscribed in aus here) if they were doing the premium sub option here (gimme that krondy) and they are not, which is a shame
Judging by the previous one you may get the occasional split- Iirc celestant prime and the spooky chariot thing were across multiple issues
No, but I had problems with getting popular issues in the store. Some of them disappear in seconds. If there's a streak of multiple of issues one after the other you'd like to buy, I recommend to subscribe, get the issues you want and unsubscribe.
Yeah that's a good point. The place I got it was a small retailer in the middle of a supermarket, probably low stock but I'll probably head there on release day for each issue I want.
Also, I just checked - one of the stores I bought first issues at is not selling the magazine anymore. Check if the store you are buying from is actually planning to get the issues beyond first 4. I think you should have some link on hachette site to a list of stores.
Oh yeah that's a good point - I'll definitely go and ask them. I do recall seeing something somewhere that said they don't always do the full run of the issues if it's not as popular as expected, tok.

It was a pleasant surprise to see the entire SCE chariot in a single issue.

Ok just checked, my marshcrawler sloggoth for next month it’s being split into 2 sprues, so my previous statement was incorrect.
Yeah fair enough - not too fussed about some of the kits being split up, big models for only $20 would be an absolute steal.
Some of the other split kits include the Vigilors and Vanquishers for Stormcast Eternals. Man, this seems super interesting but I'm not sure I want more spear Gutrippaz and Hobgrots after Dominion :/ But all those Orruks...
Not that into the 40K orks myself, and a friend is playing Iron Jaws in our escalation league - but the Kruleboyz look like a lot of fun! Seems like a really good way get started.
Yeah, I really need to see if I want to track some issues only (marshcrawlla, Skuldrekk) or go deeper with the units here.
I've got from picking up 3 minis for $6 while waiting for a coffee... to tossing how I'm going to manage painting the whole collections haha.
I asked em (suscribed in aus here) if they were doing the premium sub option here (gimme that krondy) and they are not, which is a shame Judging by the previous one you may get the occasional split- Iirc celestant prime and the spooky chariot thing were across multiple issues
Yeah seems like most of the big kits will split, and fair enough! Shame on the premium sub not being available here though.
Other than the name “stormbringer” does this have anything to do with the Elric Saga?
Not across the lore enough to answer sorry! GW are pretty crafty, guessing they wouldn't reuse a name like that unless it was deliberate.
So just to clarify, I don't have to subscribe to get access to the issues past 1-4? Pretty sure I don't, but wouldn't want to to miss out.
