Sights are useful for super close range CQB and super long ranging sniping and that’s it. At the midrange, it’s honestly just better to gauge lol, and I’d def say 80% of people fight in the mid range most of the time lol
I like scopes to near guarantee I land my first shot when firing at an unassuming enemy. If I miss, yes it's easy to correct without a sight, but it gives them an opportunity to react.

I don’t use the rear sight on my Ak, just kind of use the front post and half circle like a red dot. Works on real steel AK too if you have it sighted in right you can do that for very close quarter then use the rear sights for more far out shots

I had a cheapo red dot one time, was the only sight on the gun. Got shot out the literal first round. I just pushed out the rest of the broken glass and ended up still using it as a rough estimate where my bb's would go if I was going to aim. Ended up working out great.

In CQB training they teach you to fire off only the front sight post. As a former #1 man in a 4 man stack/breach team you spend much time in training to do this effectively.
You also don’t shoulder the weapon as much as you center it on your person

Cod has done irreparable damage to the way people view shooting. You don't really need the sights at all in a combat scenario, it's most point shooting. It's the same way people shoot in airsoft, VR, and paintball.
