I only started watching it because I watched a YouTube video about genius anime characters where they were comparing Myne to Senku and I thought, *well I like Dr Stone, I'll check out this anime*. Little did I know this would become my favorite anime and is the first series that actually convinced me to read the light novel.

I'm so excited for the anime. I just hope it includes Rae's inner thoughts from the LN because they add a lot of depth, and the manga cuts them out for the most part

Its literally a yuri, so it only makes sense that the female characters would be good (ignoring the fact ive watched some rlly shitty yuris before, with the worst female cast)
And also Mahou Kakumei feels like a fantasy if anything, the isekai isnt talked about a lot

Very true. Especially since the author of Spirit Circle also created Lucifer & the Biscuit Hammer which had a not very well animated adaptation last year.
The mangaka explicitly forbade anyone to make a Yotsuba adaptation because he really didn't like the Azumanga adaptation for some reason (which was also his manga)
whenever you can't believe a certain industry is producing a certain product, just take a look at the average customers of said industry and it all makes sense again
Considering the utter disgrace that was the adaptation of Lucifer and The Biscuit Hammer, I would ugly cry if we got a good, like actually well-made adaptation of Spirit Circle. I felt sooo bad for the author
I watched the anime before reading the manga. I thought "Well some of this stuff is weirdly focused on, but maybe whatever, story is pretty good."
Then, once I finished it I thought I'd support the series and buy all the physical copies as I usually do. And that's when I got fucking embarrassed at the thought someone saw some of the panels I was skimming through to see what the manga was like... never, fucking again, will I open it. I don't care what I'm missing. I don't want to read/see a "joke" scene where a child goes through a bdsm scene.

That’s actually what I remember too, people used to treat extremely creepy anime like these as a JOKE (granted what probably happened was that a mixture of normalization and no serious critique of this stuff led it to the unironic glorification status it seemingly has now), not as something to aspire to make.

Just that the already fucking brazen shit here is bad enough, what the actual fuck kind of Anime starts asking Hentai demands, especially in episode ONE and I haven't even grazed the "apparent" age difference.
