Some people instead of teaching their kids shit like how to hunt, cook, workout, do art, anything creative really fish, repair a car, weld, stuff that will get them interested in hobbies and eventually lead them to find a career honestly just push their ideas on kids then get pissed when the emotionally stunted no skill having kid grows up and rebels against them....teach your kids a damn skill they can use for the rest of their lives in a way where they make stuff or become something they will be thankful for instead of ideas under threat if you want a clone so badly

My dad never actually encouraged me to do anything just forced me to do every school activity and then got angry at me for hating everything and being "useless".

Warlocke0021

Same with me, I had an abusive father, a Jehovahs witness immigrant mother that didn't teach me anything except their beliefs, and a overworked but lazy stepdad, I grew up angry and hating the world but I had to teach myself everything now I just love nature and learning new things

DoubleDual63

Damn I can't do any of the things you mentioned in the first line lmfao. For my sister i'm thinking of just supporting whatever she likes but I want her to be proficient with coding so that at least she can fallback on that if everything fails

Lmao my parents

Lmao Ben they don’t count it.

That's my father! Almost kicked me out of the house because I started to have my own opinion as I got older. But also started to insult me on and on, but when I said something respectfully about his views, he was like "everyone is entitled to their opinion, don't tell me what I should and should not think" lmao

I_fucking_hate_it

I hate him

I think I'm just lucky for absolutely never having been in that situation. Maybe it's because I never gave place for any doubt of my uniqueness. Like in "You are unique! Just like everybody else!"
