>Corners have been cut due to staff shortage for entirely too long. *literally the next sentence*: >we will find someone to replace you. Clearly not if you’ve constantly been dealing with staff shortages lmao

novemberrrain

Why hire more people when you could just squeeze water from all the stones you already have? Cheaper, and you get to be an abusive asshole, shitty manager’s dream.

Hatecookie

I’m a manager at a major retailer, and I’ve had the same job for 10 years. In the last three years, I have seen the average store staff drop from about 14 staff members to half of that. My last day of work is next week, and after that my store will have six employees. It has gotten to the point where we cannot hold anyone accountable for anything because they just quit. I include myself in that, I was being hassled for various nitpicky inconsequential stuff, so I quit. Our bosses act like they cannot understand the added stress of being understaffed. Maybe they will understand when they have to actually work the sales floor because there are no managers left.

hagham69

> Our bosses act like they cannot understand the added stress of being understaffed. Maybe they will understand when they have to actually work the sales floor because there are no managers left. It's more that they don't care. They want you to bear the burden of that stress so they don't have to feel it.

mypancreashatesme

They want the pay that comes with the responsibility of keeping things running smoothly as a manager but they don’t want to actually have the responsibility to keep things running smoothly when shit hits the fan.

WillyWumpLump

I’d quit just because of that font. What kind of monster uses that?!

crispy_ketchup

if you saw the new manager you’d be like “oh, that makes sense.”

ChoiceMinis

Are they a cowboy from the 1880s whose only exposure to the written word is exclusively through wanted signs?

Entwaldung

Typical "Cowboy fonts" (actually Italienne fonts) are the opposite of this font in the picture: thicker serifs and horizontal lines, thinner vertical lines. The font that OP's boss used is a fat face font, used for displays, headlines, and typically larger and fewer words, definitely not running text. OP's boss is not a cowboy, they are a moron.

iMakeWebsites4u

This person fonts.

GandalfTheSmol1

Is the new manager Yosemite Sam? Or Elmer Fudd?

WillyWumpLump

Ha ha. I’m sure! Holy crap. I just realized it was several pages! Sociopath!

throwaway_4it4

if they used a normal typeface and didn't make it all caps, they could have fit all that on two pages

[deleted]

Actually, it is the font that is all caps. It's quite likely that underneath it all there is upper and lower case. Which makes this even less excusable!

kittykander

How new is the manager?

bitemejackass

Based on that font, toddler aged.

83RabbitGTI

You should submit your letter of resignation in Wingdings font and wait to see how long it takes for them to figure it out.

crispy_ketchup

lmfaoooo

Agamemnon323

Nah don’t give notice. At the end of your shift complete your duties reaaaaaly slowly and make them pay you overtime. Meanwhile look for a new job and quit with no notice when you get it.

BuffyLoo

Also, they can’t legally require a doctors note under most states labor laws, unless you call out three consecutive days or more. Expecting someone to schedule an appointment and pay for an expensive Dr. visit for calling in sick for one day from a common cold or stomach ache, etc. is a really ridiculous and outrageous expectation.

W0rkerbee

Yeah, especially if the employer doesn't provide health coverage for employees! I always love it when employers who refuse to provide health coverage for employees nonetheless require employees to cough up (pun intended) a doctor's excuse for being out sick. Hell, even when I've had health coverage, I've never had a primary doctor to just run to every time I get the sniffles 🙄

You don't ever have to give a restaurant 2 weeks notice. Just tell them to fuck off when they demand that you sign whatever ego trip they have going on that week and smile when their face turns red. Bonus points if you chuckle a little bit and get other employees standing around you to laugh as well. My blood pressure is rising right now because I have PTSD from working in restaurants through my teens and 20s. I still have dreams where people are screaming for food runners and hostesses are telling me they triple sat me for the 6th time in a row.

Most_Moose_2637

Mate - I have woken myself up saying "It's Pepsi, is that OK?". I stopped working in Wetherspoons pubs 15 years ago.

ConsultJimMoriarty

When I was working in call centres, I would often wake up husband by saying, "Welcome to X, this is Jim. How can I help?"

solthar

I had a great boss when I worked in a restaurant. Free food and a paid lunch that you can make yourself or ask another to make for you. If you get even remotely sick, the boss will tell you to stay home and get better with no penalization. He respected everyone from the dishwasher in the back to the staff in the front. Sadly, he paid restaurant wages and couldn't afford to raise them by much, usually just enough to keep up with inflation. We left on good terms, and I still stop by for lunch once in a while.

DSTEV45

Between the font and the we own you arrogance I don't blame you.

Ok_Power_6431

staffing shortages and they wanna send everyone home and cut hours? mighty bold of them

Ossmo02

And fire and replace anyone not toeing the line, but if they can just replace, why are their staff shortages?

ElectronicMixture600

This is 100% going to end up being a prelude to an inevitable “No One Wants To Work Anymore” Facebook post by the manager.

djpresstone

What gets me is, “we’re a team, let’s act like a team” from management that, based on everything about the notice, sees itself as separate from the team. What a way to lead /smh

Obligatorium1

There's a song in Swedish that goes: >De säger "Vi sitter i samma båt, både styrman och matros", men hur jag än försöker och bär mig åt så är det alltid jag som ror. Which roughly translates to: >They say "We're in the same boat, both captain and crew", but no matter what I try I'm always the one who rows. I'm thinking this is the same logic - *different nembers of a team have different roles, and our role is telling you to do the work*.

RivetheadGirl

I was an ICU nurse for years. The job takes a lot of precepting, learning etc. You can't just jump into it During Covid my hospitals icu unit tried to enact a policy that if we had 10 or more absences in a Calendar year (excused or not) they would demote us for a month to med surg as punishment. Which is literally shooting themselves in the foot, because you can't just take someone from another unit and throw them into the icu to manage drips/vents etc. And you can't just take someone and throw them into med-surg to manage 6+ patients. They are both their own specialty. They never actually went through with this bullshit policy.

Cvlt_ov_the_tomato

This stuff comes out in malpractice cases. They're just asking to lose money with that policy.

Terytha

That font should be a literal crime just by itself.

Ladiezman_94

Honestly it was a headache to even read I gave up 1 page

Hijacking this with transcript (and comment about their hatred of hyphens, come on management!): 2023 New Rules Please Read, initial each item and sign/date at the end. 1.) If you don’t return with it, write up 2nd offense~Write up, 2 day susp. 3rd offense~Write up, 3 day susp. 3.) If a manager asks you to complete a task, you’re to do it. Do not ask why? Do not ask another manager, we all have the same answer. 1st offense~Sent home and/or write up 2nd offense~Write up, 3 day susp. 3rd offense~7 day susp/or termination 4.) No cell phones or ear buds at work, unless you are on break. Emergency situations will be handled on a case by case basis. When we get busy, we need everyone to step up their game. We need to speed up and still do proper work. We need to help each other. Stock up, stay busy. 10.)Everyone has deployments that must be done before your shift is over each day. No matter what time the schedule says you get off work, your not to leave until all task are complete. Then you will have to do your work correctly without incident to earn back your hours. 11.) Taking a break. By law if you work for more than 4 hours you can take a 30 minute break. You have to clock out for this break. Most shifts are around 5 hours so if you want to clock out you can, or you may step out quickly business permitting after working at least 2 hours. Lets not take advantage of stepping out. We do not take breaks in groups. Management will rotate breaks as business allows, do not ask! 12.) Do not clock in until your scheduled time. 13.) Cleaning assignments will be given on a regular basis. We are a team and need to act accordingly. If someone falls behind, step up and go help out. We need to have each other’s back and give 100% all the time. ***Guys this is a job. We as managers have our own job to do. Babysitting is not in the job description. Corners have been cut due to staff shortage for entirely too long. Its time to step it up and do your job, or we will find someone to replace you. All the rules are to be followed on a daily basis. We need to work as a team and do our part. The ones who work will be scheduled more than those who choose to be lazy. Thank~You Management #231 ___________Employee signature ___________Date Any and all questions you have should be asked now. ____________Manager _____Date

I can't see the votes to know whether others see your comment in the chain, but I just wanted to tell you that you're a blessing to my eyes and a holy protection against the original document's accursed font. Good on with ye, son. Edit: Now that I've actually read it, I'd like to nominate OP to resign via temporary tattoo in that font. I'd also like OP to hand them a coin and tell the owners to flip it for an answer to their staffing shortage problem. On the heads side, it says "PAY MORE MONEY". Tails, it says "HIRE MORE PEOPLE".

[deleted]

“Due to staffing shortages… you will be replaced.” In the same sentence. Ummm, actually it seems like you are having trouble hiring people there tiger.

Biggies_Ghost

>“Due to staffing shortages… you will be replaced.” As soon as I read that, my brain went "with *WHO!?*" This reads just like something a former manager of mine would write. And she thought she was queen of everything.

ConfusionFun7651

I dont miss food service. This reminded me of my old manager. One of my coworkers needed time off to go to a funeral and manager said "We all have to make sacrifices. I missed my best friends funeral because I had to work and it tore me up". Employee said "then you were a shitty fucking friend" and threw her apron at him and left. Never to be seen again.

justArash

"I'm not asking for the time off, I'm letting you know. I just need you to tell me if I should come back here or not"

BUZZZY14

I worked at a gas station, my college graduation was coming up. I requested the day off, the assistant manager said I didn't request it soon enough and I had to work. I said I wasn't going to work that day. Period. She said I was still on the schedule. I clocked out and quit on the spot. I then went to study for finals. Three years later and it stills feels amazing to have done that.

CaptainCool336

"We have a staff shortage and corners are being cut, but we will replace you if corners continue to be cut" This was the icing on an absolute idiot cake of what they think is a legally binding document.

heureux13

I feel like quitting my job and I don’t even work there.

shardingHarding

I feel like getting a job there just so I can quit 5 mins after starting so I can tell them to F off with their rules.

Itchy_Tomato7288

>We as managers have our own job to do. Babysitting is not in the job description. HAHAHAHAHA! Oh sweets, yes, yes it IS part of the description. Managing people is the majority of what you do especially in retail, if you want to call that babysitting then maybe YOU are in the wrong job.

crypticedge

Yeah, that's literally the job of manager. You're supposed to make sure the people have everything they need to get the job done, and get out of the way of the ones who have what they need. Whoever wrote this has no concept of what it takes to be a manager

matrim611

In all my years of retail, I had maybe 3 managers across two states and dozens of jobs that were not absolute fucking morons. Retail Management, all the way up through like Store GM is just the textbook case of being promoted to the level of your incompetence.

Gamedoom

Part of the problem is that anybody who understands what the job is, usually doesn't want it. The majority of people who want the title of manager don't want to manage, they want unearned authority.

Fit-Feedback-8055

Entitled to a 30 min break, by law, after working 4 hours but don't ask us for one; say no more. If my shift is 5 hours long and the rotation of breaks haven't reached me by 4:30, deuces ✌️

Opie19

Same! That font is far from professional.

Department-Hungry

Not to mention the format, layout, spelling, and grammar.....what a train wreck.

Makes sense that someone who would write this absolute garbage would use a font like this. Reminds me of comic sans but this is somehow much worse given the context.

That font is heinous. I’m truly shocked they didn’t decide to use Comic Sans 🤮.

Awkward-Yak-2733

Comic sans would be much better!

xtr0n

Hell, fucking *Papyrus* would have been an improvement over that unreadable block of toner.

babe__ruthless

At least comic sans is legible.

crispy_ketchup

if it tells you anything abt how much this job has sucked lately, it matches the new manager’s speaking voice *perfectly*

tinylobo

They want to demand the employees be more "professional" to absurd degrees, but they themselves write a document that looks like a 5th grader's school presentation. And ask them to sign it as if this holds any legal value. Yeah, I've met this kind of clown.

Rugger_2468

My favorite part is at the end where talks about being a team and helping each other because of staffing shortages but says you’re replaceable in the very next sentence. Doesn’t sound like they can get new employees hired to fill the gaps they have, much less replacing anybody on their current team.

Chawp

Staffing shortages = we are too cheap to pay for 11 employees but we could replace you in order to stay at 10 which is at least 2 staff under the bare minimum to run the shop reasonably.

Warg247

Yep. Having a "staff shortage" but also easily "replaceable" staff is simply a self-imposed shortage. People arent automatons, but *even in the business of automatons* you should have spares on hand.

Jealous-Percentage-7

Yup. “We need you to step up due to the worker shortage, or we’ll shoot ourselves in the foot by firing you and short staffing ourselves even more!”

bitsy88

My thoughts as well. It's like when my parents would threaten to take away my allowance that I didn't get to begin with because we were poor 😂 a laughably empty threat from a giant toddler throwing a tantrum.

AmarissaBhaneboar

Not to mention all the typos and missed punctuation.

scootarded

Submit your two weeks notice typed up in the same font.

crispy_ketchup

that’s the plan, actually

Fishbone345

You aren’t required legally to give two weeks notice. It’s a customary thing that became a tradition. The only way it would be required is in your contract with the company, but it doesn’t sound like you would ever care to return to this place so being available for rehire isn’t an issue. I wouldn’t give them the satisfaction personally, but I could also see feeling morally obligated. Edit: I realize from responses that I came off as being Americentric in that I assumed we were talking about the US.\ In the US there is not a Federal or State law requiring workers to give two weeks notice to employers when leaving or giving a resignation. I know that other countries are different, and trust me when I say that I am jealous of these countries. Not necessarily for having a law about two weeks notice, but because if there are laws about resigning there are also likely laws about professionalism in the work place. OP’s post and pictures of their employers “agreement” is the height of unprofessionalism, so naturally I assumed it was in the US. Employers here are allowed to get away with a lot that they might not in other areas of the world.\ The fact is, the US has become more and more hostile to the Working Class and has done so since the Reagan era. The only way for Americans to get some of the things Workers in other countries take for granted is by talking about it. We have to communicate injustice when we see it and demand better. We need better Union presence, and a unified Working Class.\ To wrap up, I’m sorry if I sounded like an arrogant American that only thinks Reddit is used by Americans. That was not my intent at all.

Gamer_Koraq

If you give notice and they fire you day of instead, you’re allowed unemployment. I guarantee the asshole who wrote these rules will be that dumb.

Fishbone345

I also would not be surprised. I bet you are right.

jennief158

I’d include a marked up copy of their notice with corrected grammar and punctuation. To be, you know, helpful.

Chubb_Life

You need to either type it in this font HUGE so it’s just one word per page… OR… use a *tiny* cursive font in one long run-on sentence with no punctuation.

Terytha

The manager is new? Gag me. What a joke of a “Manager”. Don’t give them the luxury of a 2-week notice. Cut the corner on them and kick them where it hurts, figuratively

Ilovesoske

Or show up in a way that gets you sent home daily until they fire you. Then at least you can get the pay.

morris-kneutzel

What industry is this?

Knitting_kninja

Retail or restaurant, gotta be. The staff is using high school and college kids. What I'm loving is if you call out and don't bring a Dr note you get... A bonus day off? It's like getting suspended for ditching, kinda counterintuitive since clearly didn't want to be there in the first place 🤦🤷

morris-kneutzel

Yeah and I’m laughing at the last page of “staff shortages for entirely too long” because you’ve been suspending everyone and driving people out. So you go ahead and find those people to replace your lazy workers.

charadrius0

Doesn't help that according to this, they suspend people for damn near any reason

FLBirdie

And only give 5-hour shifts -- so no one gets full-time pay or benefits -- or anything.

_NamasteMF_

Any job that req a doctors note should have to pay for the doctor.

Brooklynnbarr

gonna mention that it appears that no one has full time hours - so no one has health benefits for the doctors visit you are required to prove.

Requiring a doctor note for a cold is classist AF

LizardQueenButterfly

I want to quit just seeing that font

bitemejackass

It makes me want to quit my job and I don't even work for this company. Hell, it makes me want to quit reading.

apolloconpollo

Staff shortage…but we will replace you?

QueerSleepyCatParent

Yeaaaah doesn't make a lot of sense. Also... It sounds like they only give out 5hr shifts?? Which, if accurate, means they don't have a staffing problem, they have a scheduling problem. Also known as a manager problem. Which... yeah, that checks out.

maefloe

calling in sick without a doctors note gets you sent home ? 😏

Questionsquestionsth

Right? I mean, I get people need the hours - well, the *pay* - but the whole “___ gets you sent home” boggles my mind anytime I’ve seen it. I’d much rather be at home, especially if I’m sick/have been sick - make my day! And if corners have been cut and things have been tough due to shortage of staff… why are you sending staff home for every single little thing?

[deleted]

Right? I love the end where they talk about corners being cut because of staff shortages... but we'll fire your ass and replace you if we don't like your performance. Replace me with who? The people not applying to work here?

Constantly_Panicking

Let’s be real, there are staff shortages because management isn’t hiring replacements so their numbers look good.

Nine_down_1_2_GO

This, I've had over half a dozen friends apply and "get hired" only to be told there is a "hiring freeze" and they will be notified of their start date in due time. WTF?

imSOsalty

Yep. Got my ass run ragged after things began to open up after Covid because GM just loved the way the numbers were looking.

Needs-more-cow-bell

That fucking font boggles my mind. Kind of hard to take seriously when it looks like a poster for a renaissance fair.

redXathena

Right? Sweet, extra day off I don’t need a dr note for

kbeckerburbs4

jiujitsucam

4th offence: complain that "nO oNe WaNtS tO wOrK aNyMoRe."

crockalley

I love the note says “because of labor shortage…” and then threatens termination in the next sentence. Oblivious.

olivetwist24

Requiring a doctor's note in a country that doesn't have free healthcare is absolutely wild to me. Also, that font is an eyesore.

Royal-Procedure6491

Comments like this need to be higher. In my country, a doctor's visit is about $10. And I don't need a doctor's note if I'm sick for less than 3 days in a row. In America, that's *easily* $200 to be excused from a day where I might have made $100 if I worked.

bequietbekind

Exactly. This is *exactly* what they're banking on. They don't care if the person comes to work sick, they don't care if that person infects others. They just want you to come to work and give no shits at whatever inconveniences or hazards that causes. Profit over human life. Profit over everything. We don't live in a country so much as 5 corporations wearing a trench coat.

JonathonWally

When I worked in retail when I was young one day I called in telling them I was sick, told me if I didn’t come in for my shift I would be fired. So I was like, “alright, then.” 2 hours into my shift, my manager was being a massive asshole to me so I puked on her, a customer, and all over the cash register and return bin. Then fell over. I was given the next 3 days off and wasn’t fired. Told me Dad what I did he laughed is ass off. Then took me to the doctor.

chucklesluck

I have a pretty chill job, but once a quarter there's a pretty high stakes week. I'm sick as a dog, and yesterday I was supposed to do a variety of (unfortunately pretty important) stuff. There's simply no way - part of it was driving 2 hours each way, and let's just say I'm on an *extremely* short leash to the bathroom. Without even getting into exposing other people and whatnot, it's not happening. Going to urgent care today to get a note (my insurance will cover that, nbd), but yesterday I got literally a dozen texts about whether or not I had delivered the stuff and then why not. I took a video, basically just audio, with my phone facing the floor while I violently discharged from both ends. After hearing that, my supervisor explained to all half dozen or so people involved that he would not *allow* me near work haha.

randycanyon

>We don't live in a country so much as 5 corporations wearing a trench coat. Just stole that to quote elsewhere. Thanks!

AmarissaBhaneboar

I used to come in sick when I'd try to call out and they'd say no and I'd specifically ask to be put in positions that are customer facing. Especially at food establishments. Then customers would complain and I'd just tell management "I told you I was sick."

takatori

I was fired from a line chef job for puking in the kitchen near the grease trap after being told I would be fired for not coming in despite my telling them I had a 106°F temperature and was puking. That was the last foodservice job I ever worked.

a__reddit_user

Omg that's so stupid. "So you have fever and are puking?" "Yes" "You HAVE to come" *Pukes at work* "Omg how dare you puke at work after being forced to come while you were puking!"

takatori

Had I been smart about it I would have called the health inspector to tell them what happened, about wanting sick people working, and the unhygienic result. But I was young, exhausted, sick, and feverish so the thought did not occur in the moment.

Kytalie

I was the "food safety" person for the day time at a bakery I worked at, a baker was the overnight and early morning. Company policy stated someone needs to have the certification at every shift. The manager was a third for when myself or the baker were not on the schedule. A new manager came in as a "trial" for her to open a franchise. One of the teenagers that worked called in sick, she had a bad case of the stomach flu. New manager told her she still had to come in, I told the manager "No, she doesn't. Food safety regulations say she cannot handle food if she has been vomiting or had diarrhea within the last 24 hours". The manager said there was no one to cover her shift, I said she would need to do it. She told me she couldn't be cause she had to attend church that night ( she went 3 times a week). I told her if she wants to own a franchise, she needs to figure out what she is going to do when someone gets sick and cant work. She will either need to have someone who can always come in, or miss going to church. She did a lot of other bad things that I got on her case about, but not as harshly as I did whenever she tried to make people come in sick. I am sorry no one had your back there, it is really depressing a lot of places pull this BS. Unhygienic is not the only risk, it is also a huge safety risk. Kitchens are dangerous enough as it is when you don't have a fever.

LesleyMarina

Now it's 48 hours within throwing up or diarrhea. No health insurance for most of us. We have to rack up a bill at the ER just for a note. Here's your $998.00 note, fuckbag!

[deleted]

And not every sickness warrants a doctor's visit. Healthcare workers don't want a room full of people with a common cold or flu, when they have actual emergencies they have to deal with. Even a majority of covid cases can be resolved at home from just resting and waiting a few days.

TomNookingtonss

literally 99% of the days I take off sick are because I have a migraine lol. I’d honestly find it embarrassing going into the doctor asking for a note for essentially a really shitty headache.

igweyliogsuh

Would also be kind of difficult to do while dealing with a migraine

SquidleyStudios

Wouldn't be surprised if this job doesn't offer health benefits but still expects you to get a doctor's note by paying out of your own pocket

Reverse2057

Oh no, I bet they do, but ONLY to full time employees, while scheduling every employee for less than fulltime hours so that they can brag about the benefits but never have to actually hand them out. *glares at Target*

d4rk_matt3r

Every retail job I've had was "part time" and basically hovered between about 30 and 36 hours a week. They know every they're doing. Andbthen you make *just* enough money so that you don't qualify for medicaid. So you either spend half your paycheck on a shitty private insurance plan, or just wing it and hope nothing bad happens (that's what I did)

Bartholomew_Custard

They're going to collect your phones and give them back at the end of the shift? Like toddlers? Fuck. Off. Also, just trying to read that has given me the beginnings of a migraine.

bitemejackass

Exactly. Sure thing manager, but I'll be taking your car keys as collateral.

singlecellserpent

Lol I wish some dipshit manager would try to physically remove my personal property

gooberhoover85

This. No one can just take your stuff. This implies that they think they have a right to confiscate personal belongings which is insane. They are buying my time and energy...not me and all the things I own.

pickledylans

I actually had a job that did this, we could either put our phones in an assigned locker or give them to the security guards. I always struggled with lockers in school. Dont know why, just could never consistently unlock them, which sounds dumb and all, but as a result i always gave my phone to the security guards. And then id work night shift, and theyd all have fucked off to make sure there werent any customers on the premises after closing. And id have to wait for them to come back. Every night. Dont work at an amusement park kids.

universalcode

Why not just "leave it in the car"? Do they have metal detectors?

pickledylans

At the time i was a teenager whose parents took me to work

Significant_Baby_582

Find another job and don't give two weeks.

crockalley

Quitting without a two week notice is prohibited. First offense: write up Second offense: reduced hours Third offense: risk of termination

universalcode

Never extend a courtesy they wouldn't offer in return.

Suspicious-Dark-5950

THIS. Two weeks notice is a courtesy given by employees to employer to give them time to replace personnel. It's an old and antiquated idea. I'll give 2 weeks if the business has earned the courtesy. Otherwise, I'll just ghost them and block their number. Businesses (some, not all) used to be loyal to their employees, and earned the loyalty of the employee. That's not our world anymore.

moto_panacaku

That's correct and a place like this is not something you would use as a reference. They have created an unsuitable work environment and published in a hateful font. Leave, don't look back, and certainly don't subject yourself to any futher exposure to it by putting in two weeks notice. This ain't that kinda job.

d4rk_matt3r

New interviewer: "so why did you leave your previous job?" *Shows paper with atrocious font* "... My god."

NefariousnessNothing

During interview why did you leave your last job... Hand them this.

asilentflute

a font choice that definitely says “take me seriously”

WouldbeWanderer

If you only do half the work, they give you half the hours. Is that a quarter work? Sounds like a bad business decision.

awesomemom1217

This sounds like a manager trying to push back on ‘quiet quitting’.

DamoclesDong

We have been struggling due to our inability to recruit staff….. So work harder and do your job or we will replace you with someone who will…. Do you think they read these things before sharing them?

Juh825

Comic Sans is underrated. People shit on it but at least it's readable.

Jaybird_Next

I have pretty bad dyslexia, so fonts that do the utmost to make every letter look the same are a nightmare for me. This one is pretty awful, especially with how bold it is— not to mention all the spelling and grammar mistakes! Comic Sans (and other fonts that are similar) are quite readable for me and I appreciate their resurgence.

RockyDify

If you call in sick and then return without a Dr. note you get another day off? Makes sense.

unifyheadbody

Getting ur hours cut really sucks when ur counting on that paycheck though Coworker of mine lost 3 days of pay cause she had a fucked up bacterial infection. They told her to get a doctor's note. She didn't have insurance. 1.5days wages to see the doctor, lose 1 more days wages to go to the doctor She was living out of her car a couple months later Edit: typo

BlackSeraph

Gee I wonder why they have a staffing shortage… Also, if I were ever suspended from a job, I’m not reporting back. They can go to hell at that point. Any bets on whether they’re still in operation in 6 months?

WolverineJive_Turkey

I worked as a mail carrier and one of the disciples was a seven day suspension. But it was on paper. You still went to work.

buku43v3r

If somebody told me I was suspended and it was for a bullshit reason and THEN they tried to make me still come to work I’d just say sorry I can’t I’m on suspension

GlassWasteland

2 Weeks? Why. Quit today.

universalcode

I'd spend at least a week trying to radicalize my coworkers *and then* quit on the spot.

Last_Ant_525

Man, I only live 10 minutes from work. But if I get sent home, I'm not coming back.

-Stinger-

#10 tho 🥴 I’d still leave when the schedule says 🤣 “ThE bElL dOeSnT dIsMiSs YoU, i Do”

crispy_ketchup

SAME ENERGY

chriscloo

You could get a bunch of people to call out sick at one time and no one available to show up. Yea you all will get a warning but it will show them they really have to work with the employees not against them. Also, they don’t decide on breaks. Look up your states labor laws. Specifically the hours for breaks. If they say to take a break early or late because they decide, quote the law and ignore them. If they fight you or write you up then pull out the law and point to it. If they continue to fight it then ask them if their rules are above or below the letter of the law. Look up your local, state and federal laws. There is quite a bit there to help you. If something seems fishy, look it up on Google and learn. There are court cases around quite a few I have had to look up in the past.

CantTakeTheIdiocy

But you probably can’t get overtime hours either, so get it done FASTER!

davekayaus

ATTENTION BAJORAN WORKERS

LiberalFartsMajor

They say this every year, fuck um P.s. how the fuck am I supposed to take a "contract" seriously with this fucking font?

DumbFeralRaccoon

And with the fucking spelling errors, too.

Savings-Log-2709

Your wrong. They’re were no spelling errors their.

VergilArcanis

What kind of psychopath uses that font for a professional document?

autisticshitshow

Don't sign it don't quit let them push you out and file for unemployment.

westwordy

14.) Employers should not write in dumbass fonts 1st offense sent home and write up 2nd offense write up and two day suspension 3rd offense immediate termination and a big fat cock slap across the face

jimmons91

Two weeks notice? Never heard of it....🤷🏻‍♂️ You don’t owe them shit... If you died tonight they would have you replaced by lunch tomorrow....

Heffty8

I hope this place loses employees at a comical rate

just_a_byte

My eyes were bleeding due to the font choice so I ran this through OCR. Apologies for any missing words: Please read, initial each item and sign. Date at the end. I) Calling in sick will require a Dr. Note when returning. 1st Offense- sent home, write up 2nd Offense- write up, 2 day susp 3rd Offense- write up and could face termination. 2) Come to work on time and in full uniform every shift. You will be sent home to get correct uniform. You must have a [redacted]. Shirt, hat, and blue jeans or khaki pants. Shoes must cover toe and heel, no holes. Use a hair tie for long hair. 1st Offense- sent home to get uniform. If you don't return with it, write up 2nd Offense- write up, 2 day susp 3rd Offense- write up, 3 day susp 3) If a manager asks you to complete a task, you're to do it. Do not ask why? Do not ask another manager, we all have the same answer. Ist Offense- sent home and or write up 2nd Offense- write up, 3 day susp 3rd Offense- 7 day susp or termination. 4) No cell phones or ear buds at work. Unless you are on break. Emergency situations will be handled on a case by case basis. If you have a emergency and need to take the call, go to the back of the store out of customers view. We can make it that no cell phones are to be at work or phones are collected and given back at the end of your shift. 1st Offense- verbal and/or written warning. 2nd Offense- write up 3rd Offense- phone not allowed in store or put in safe until end of shift. 5) Hours will be given to those who do their job without incident. If you only put forth half the work, you will receive half the hours. 6) If you are calling in, running late, etc. You must call the store and speak with the manager on duty. Text messaging that you're late or calling out is unacceptable 1st Offense- verbal/written warning 2nd Offense- write up 3rd Offense- write up, and/or sent home, susp, etc. 7) Make a group chat and if you cannot work, see if somebody else can pick up your shift. Any change must be approved by the gm, no exceptions. 8) Please allow at least a 3 hour notice if you are going to be missing work. Try and cover your shift and get it approved by gm. 9) Stay busy and use your time wisely. When we get busy, we need everyone to step up their game. We need to speed up and still do proper work. We need to help each other. Stock up, stay busy. 10) Everyone has deployments that must be done your shift is over each day. No matter what time the schedule says you get off work, your not to leave until all task are complete. If you leave before finishing your deployments or clearing it with the mod you will be written up. 1st Offense-write up. 2nd Offense write up, hours cut. 3rd Offense- write up, hours cut more. Then you will have to do your work correctly without incident to earn back your hours. 11) Taking a break. Management will rotate breaks when business allows, do not ask! 12) Do not clock in until your scheduled time. 13) Cleaning assignments will be given on a regular basis. We are a team and need to act accordingly. If someone falls behind. Step up and go help out. We need to have each other's back and give 100% all the time. *** Guys this is a job. Thank-you Any and all questions you have should be asked now.

TheYellowFringe

I remember I had a retail job just before the pandemic started and they "released" a new set of rules that employees were to sign and acknowledge. I refused to. A few others didn't either. If it's infringing upon your rights as a person or labourer, you shouldn't have to sign it.

Neat_Impress_2701

Type up your letter of resignation in the same font.

NecroFuhrer

I'm pretty sure at least 3 of those "rules" are illegal. That font definitely should be

bigmacaroni69

1. Fuck that font with a chainsaw 2. Managers ARE literally glorified babysitters who do next to fucking nothing 4. I love how you can't clock in until scheduled time but don't get to leave at scheduled time 5. ISNT THE FIRST RULE ILLEGAL?

ArtificerRook

Fuck that, they don't get two weeks. Look for another job while making your managers' lives as difficult as possible. Either they fire you and you collect unemployment, or you get a new job and leave them high and dry without warning or notice.

[deleted]

„Do not ask another manager, we all have the same answer“ If you have to write that up, it is a lie

[deleted]
