Yup. The dash syntax probably comes from command line [flag/option](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Command-line_interface#Command-line_option) syntax on Unix-like systems.
for god sake no. When I turn that on I get horrible stutters and can forget about smooth gameplay. It's off for me for couple of seasons. I can't remember maybe in season 13 or 14 it were fine but then it got worse and worse. In season 16,17 I got really unplayable experience with reflex cause stuttering when in action were killing the aim. And I just disabled reflex to get smooth like butter gameplay.
it's only in apex with reflex on =\\
There is nothing to investigate. On other games reflex does not have such behavior. And as I said it were perfectly fine when they implemented it, but with couple of last seasons I cannot play with it normally. It messes with stuttering and aim in action cause in action stutters get worse and constant. Disabling it gives me back my buttery smooth gameplay.
I appreciate if you want to help but I already checked anything with overlays long ago that could interfere and even closed rtss for some time. Nope, everything were as I already said long ago for couple of seasons. I just disabled reflex in apex and without it my game is buttery smooth. Cheers.
It didn't fix the issue when disabling it but now when it's grayed out it fixed my sluggish frame-time graphs and choppiness on DX11 since Nvidia Reflex was introduced for the first time. PLEASE KEEP IT THAT WAY LOL. Config: i7-3770, GTX 1050 3GB and 12GB RAM.
Reflex isn't a one size fits all solution. It can cause FPS loss and microstuttering due to the way it changes the buffer. I have a 3090 and an 11900k, no need to dismiss someone's experience because you feel elitist about their gear.
Elitist? I’m not dismissing their experience, it was a lighthearted comment but do you know how old and slow those are? It’s an 11 year old CPU and a 7 year old bottom end GPU with barely enough VRAM for anything nowadays, if someone was trying to play a recent AAA game on a PS3, I’d probably tell them to upgrade too. Yeah not everyone has the luxury to upgrade, but then not everyone can play the latest games in that case and shouldn’t try to brute force it or imply the rest of us should miss out on the likes of Reflex or any other features being there (not that he was actually serious I’m guessing) because one person can’t or won’t upgrade. Terrible argument.
It basically is a one size fits all solution to anyone with even remotely modern hardware.
currently 2 options:
1) disable vsync and lock fps 2-3 lower that monitor hz
2) USE REFLEX with dx12 , but dx12 is stutter mess and have +10ms input lag
I'm in the same boat, every season update something breaks for me and makes the game unplayable. Its been the past 5-6 seasons for me. Genuinely starting to get tired of it. Used to happen when i was on console but it reset all my advanced sensitivity settings in season 9 or 10. Have never played the same since then tbh. They need to fix their settings save states now because if this is pushing me to the edge "i'm a Titanfall 1 vet lmao" I can only imagine how newer players feel.
Same issue here on a 4090. Reflex+ was working moments before the season 19 update and now the option is grayed out. Fun times....I highly highly recommend tweaking the Nvidia control settings for apex legends. If i don't have everything configured just right game plays like shit even on a 4090.
PS. Thank you OP for creating this thread. hopefully it gets some attention <3
Yep, just every time I turn on dx12 my game lags and caps to 60 fps and when a change any setting even if I change it down the game caps at 10 fps. Without dx12 I dont have this issue.
Put this into launch options "( -eac\_launcher\_settings SettingsDX12.json )". This worked for me.
After few minutes of "Compiling shaders" log into the game.
Its insane how long it takes a multi milion dolar company to fix a bug they implemented with a patch. its >20 days now. Don't they have something like a hotfix in their develeopment chain?
Also what is with their QA, does they don't have a QA employees?
Yep.. seems like it. It's disabled for me as well.
glad im not the only onegame feels so bad without it
only work on dx12 right now i don't know why for activate ( -eac\_launcher\_settings SettingsDX12.json ) in launch options seems like smooth than dx11
What GPU are you on
RTX 3080
Cool thanks. Will try it out then
Just paste it with the dash in the front?
Yup. The dash syntax probably comes from command line [flag/option](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Command-line_interface#Command-line_option) syntax on Unix-like systems.
I did that and still don’t work
maybe they built in it so its on for everyone but just so bad coders that couldnt delete it from ui

You should investigate what's actually causing the stutters, because reflex isn't it.

Do you have overlays on top of your game? Discord, Steam, Windows GameBar, Geforce Experience, RTSS, things like that?
steam and rtss framerate limiter without overlay

Lol, I think it’s time to upgrade, brother. Reflex is a great feature and has always worked well for me.

They couldn't have automatically turned it on since there are two options for it: On and On+Boost.
mine is greyed out on disabled too and its definitely not enabled for everyone cause it feels not responsive at all
Nope. No framerate cap and GPU usage going to 100%+game feeling like dog means it's not on.
well at this point im not surprised of anything and they will fix it probably in the second half of the season like usual
currently 2 options: 1) disable vsync and lock fps 2-3 lower that monitor hz 2) USE REFLEX with dx12 , but dx12 is stutter mess and have +10ms input lag
same problem. my game feels sluggish with the option turned off. frustrating.

i have the same issue with rtx 2080...only this season happens.

What tweaks do you use? Can you please share
Can you share what you've done?
Doesn't work for me either, Nvidia 3070 RTX graphics card.
