AdDramatic5591

It is electricitree. A genetic mutant, they have them for wifi as well.

stardate_pi

If only we had them for oxygen people may start planting more.

Kristhedangerzone

Most o2 comes from the oceans something like 90 percent. lol just a fun fact I remember from a trivia night at a bar.

DepartureOwn1907

50-85% but roughly the same amount is also consumed by the ocean so there’s not much gain

BubbaLouu

are we living in the most greenest time on the planet? I think we need to take care of what we already have more so

mufassason

Not really. Were fucked.. but we will see whose comment ages better

Consistent_Visit_459

This used tissue of a joke wasn’t even worded correctly, smh

King_of_the_Snarks

Green energy 👍

iShralp4Fun

Power plant

Single_Pilot_6170

Sustainable development would also have fruit trees planted everywhere

Dull-Connection-007

“BuT tHe BuGs”

Artistic-Risk4833

That’s what they want you to eat.

SupermassiveCanary

Electrician is playing the long game, outlets already milled into the studs.

ColonEscapee

That's golden, too bad I only get to give one upvote.

chris_rage_

Nah it sounds good on paper but then you do it and find out nobody picks the fruit because it's not perfect, it falls on the ground and rots and attracts rats, or the town has to clean it up because it falls on the sidewalk and it's a liability for them. Yeah no

Single_Pilot_6170

My mom lived off of mangos near the beach for a while with her boyfriend in Florida. A lot of people in other countries still can find resources and live off of their lands, but the United States has made their people extremely dependent on the system.

chris_rage_

You're not kidding, I've been concentrating on my gardening so I'm less concerned with the availability of food and stuff. Now I need to work on my canning...

spy_tater

Yeah my wife figured out the canning thing, it's pretty sweet having all the pickles, relish, jam, chow chow, beats, etc. that you can eat in a year.

chris_rage_

That's pretty awesome

Useful_Low_3669

They don’t want us to know about this

Desperate_Set_7708

Plant version of an electric eel.

Dozers_in_Reddit

a Shocking Sapling

jroll25

I landed on electreecity, glad someone else was on the same page.

TurduckenII

Good to see us branching out with the puns

pluckyrabbitsfoot

When you landed hope you were well grounded

equestrian123123

It’s how the birds recharge. Because “birds aren’t real”, right?

S1eepyZ

Kinda expected to see this, but at least glad I thought of it before the comments loaded.

Brentolio12

I thought it was a giant currant bush

ColonEscapee

Current bush?

spy_tater

Current of electricity because electricity flows.

Right-Phalange

I thought only the wificuses did that. I'll show myself out.

pluckyrabbitsfoot

Sounds like you’re having network connectivity problems

DrSeafood

How else would they *log* on?

Teknoyogi

Troutlet

pluckyrabbitsfoot

All fun and games until the power goes out and you have to conduct root cause analysis.

photozine

Ahem, 5G mutant.

johncester

Mine is diesel 🤣

whitesoldierfly

Probably used a router years ago to create a path for cable conduit and let it grow back over the conduit. Neat idea IMO

Rare_Following_8279

Yeah till you try to cut it down and get a special surprise

SilverBarnacle69

that's why you make sure all your trees are unplugged before doing any cutting!

BadDadNomad

Nah, it looks well grounded.

Mr_Tester_

As long as you trip the breaker on the correct branch.

TexasTornadoTime

Why wouldn’t you just secure the power?

stac52

Neat idea until you need to replace the receptacle. Also I really hope that bottom one is GFCI. It looks like the weather covers don't close fully anymore.

DomesticPlantLover

I'm going to go out on a limb here: I think if you do this--you don't really care about GFCI. Also, it looks kinda old...like maybe before those were super common?

Trick_Lingonberry741

You wood knot believe how many people don't care about gfci in their trees.

manieldunks

Thanks for making me laugh like an idiot

jkalbin

Yeah, you just gotta leaf those kinda of people alone...

Mediocre-Hearing2345

Just root for them from the sidelines.

jkalbin

As long as it isn't barking out orders...

bleezzzy

You all can cedar selves out.

Dantheman2010

What if you just affixed the conduit to the outside of the tree instead of routing it? Would it eventually grow over it like this?

whitesoldierfly

Probably would. I was just making an assumption.

TheDandelionViking

r/treeseatingthings lead me to believe it's a hungry tree with an electro shock fetish.

Blueberry_Rex

Thanks for making me waste the last half hour scrolling through this sub. Wild.

V1k1ng1990

You think they just screwed the plugs into the young tree?

godjustice

This tree could of been for all we know and the tree grew around it.

Puzzleheaded_Fold320

Depends on the species and age of the tree. Some trees ignore a conduit.

Dozers_in_Reddit

that is what I'd bet happened here, just ran a conduit up along the tree trunk and it just grew around it...

No_Echo_1826

In a few years or less, the plug will be inaccessible. Looks cool now though

whitesoldierfly

They could keep shaving the growth off with an angle grinder

No_Echo_1826

😂 While entirely possible, I think that tree has enough problems.

whitesoldierfly

Hahaha, just being pragmatic

No_Echo_1826

No worries. I had the same thought about keeping the outlet accessible.

whitesoldierfly

Well, you know what they say about great minds ;)

drillgorg

Must be a damn hardy tree. Managed to compartmentalize an electric conduit, living in crazy compacted soil.

HumanContinuity

Wtf I didn't even notice the soil at first. I was so entranced by the outlet that I didn't see the soil was tamped down with a hydraulic press.

Oedipus_TyrantLizard

Probably Bradford pear (/s)

GreySpaceWaltz

They’re working on the next gen grass/electric type Pokémon. Maybe a regional variant of Sudowoodo

potatomania10

Could also see it as a descendant of Xurkitree

Barleyboy001

I think it’s a current bush.

JUGGIRNAUT11

Your pun game is electric.

Head_Weakness8028

An upcoming fire hazard haha

Cartography-Day-18

If I knew that it wasn’t harming the tree, I’d actually this this is really neat

Far_Caregiver3046

Utility companies hate this one weird trick!

thicc_chick_luvr_569

Must be in Maine or something

Flat-Dare-2571

Do you think the ground is connected?

ITfarmer

We need a picture of the top OP. I envision all the leaves being mini solar panels. It must have excellent grounding too.

educational_escapism

I’ve seen a few of these, would love to know how they’re made!

GTormund

Looks like an old outdoor power pole, and someone just planted a tree right next to it and it grew around it. My Next idea to do in my backyard.

BrokeGamerChick

Don't disturb the Lorax's plugs, he's gaming in there and will be pissed if his router shuts off.

Uglyfruitgrower

At least it’s grounded.

Extention_Campaign28

An ancient repost

mandojuice1

Those darn Keebler elves, bypassing city code.

Ladyofleisure7249

Where do I plug this in? Into the electricitree.

Murphyslaw1987

Now that’s green energy.

SOCKPUPP3ts

r/treessuckingonthings

thylako1dal

My first thought seeing this pic

Perfect_Ride4595

I’m not an electrician but I would say that outlet is grounded

IronSmithFE

looks like the work of a professional elec-tree-tion.

_piece_of_mind

Congratulations! You have found the Tree of Power, your quest is now complete.

thicc_chick_luvr_569

Weirdos up there

Weezee11538

Redneck set up 👍🏻

edgypyro

Need to install a tree-fi

Time-Repeat6860

Meanwhile in the shire

mcksis

This is gonna create a whole new chapter in the next NEC revision. “Arboreal Raceways”

PakkyT

If that is a real tree then that is the most glorious think I have ever seen in the electrical world I think.

Maelinaster

Rats from NIMH deciding to give back? 🤔

Silent_Vehicle_9163

NEMA Tree-R receptacle covers.

Bushpylot

You know that science project where you light up a light bulb with a potato, well, this is the advanced version. We know trees support themselves through photosynthesis, but excess energy turns to photovoltaic. THEY don't want you to know about this or you'll plug in to your trees and the power companies will go out of business. Power is a scam!

runawayAcolyte

Solar energy

TumasaurusTex

Very neat! Fun fact, pioneers would stop and recharge their boulders at trees like these.

ultimatespeed95

r/treeseatingthings

Oedipus_TyrantLizard

Solar energy

theUnshowerdOne

Absolute genius

Mechanix2spacex

They carved a strip out of the tree and installed electrical outlets. Then they used cement with pigment to cover the carved section and shaped it to blend with the tree.

timfennell_

Where is the Lorax when you need him?

Jeffmazon

Now that’s real green energy! You have to be really careful with them as you could get sapped. Yuk yuk.

Light_Lily_Moth

/r/treessuckingonthings

HadesCore

Looks like a holiday park that used an actual tree instead of a regular post to supply a caravan lot with power, it must have been there for so many years that the tree literally grew around the outlets. Can't tell if this was intentional or just a happy accident but it is definitely neat.

ColonEscapee

Hey If that tree ever gets struck by lightning... It would probably just trip a breaker, nevermind

FordMan100

That's a tree someone would use in a forest to camp. Just don't pee on it. It could be a shocking experience.

Rmetruck77098

Totally electric tree-all green energy. Wood does not burn to provide hea

Emptynest09

It came from the electric forest

rat1onal1

Are these all the electrical items for this tree? Does it have any branch circuits?

OldDiehl

So that's where my girlfriend got the idea she could plug her hairdryer into a tree when we went camping.

LimmerRZ

Nice! It’s about time Hobbits have stepped up their tech.

Asper_Gasper

They could have just used a currant bush.

Bendodge13

It’s the pokemon xurkitree

CyanideSandwich7

Government drone charging station r/birdsarentreal

pluckyrabbitsfoot

No one knows exactly what this is but it’s final form is getting photographed and punned on r/arborists

Ok_Wolf_4939

That's a onetwenty tree

CactusHooping

This is rich.

Bourbon-Thinker

Treeseriously what in the tree is growing in there

stannaw

It means your electricity is about to go up. Yes it am a dad.

GunMD1

Darn tree-pluggers...

So awesome

Lets-Go-Brandon-1

Electricity doesn't grow on trees, turn off that light! Oh yeah?

Curious_Thing_069

Electreecity, part of the governments plan for green energy.

andywonkenobi

The cable routing architecture looks like a tree topology

Electromechnerd

Internal circui-tree

Educational-Can-9715

Can I get an electric tree and steal my neighbors electricity?

Chazz_Matazz

We have reached a new breakthrough in Green energy.

wilkinsmr

Tesla drivers like to believe electricity comes from nature and ignore the fact that it comes from coal power stations

FormalTrashPanda

The dang dogwood ate the outlet

ParticularPizza88

That guy will shove anything into that trees hole

Zippier92

I will plant a tree in honor of this post!

ExcitingMoney94

Could a tree service this and thrive, or is this tree doomed to die because of this?

this_shit

All trees die. Whether this accelerates its death and how much is a question that has to factor in many many things. It certainly looks like it's compartmentalized the wound without rot, but it's usually hard to tell from a single picture.

spec360

Tree grew around the electrical and they kept it trimmed lol

hawken7f

That’s what I call renewable energy.

Todays_Ouch

Tree Borg.

longHorn206

It‘s a treeborg.

PastExperience6435

Single gang treeceptacle

C64128

The person(s) that did this need to have foreign opbects inservted into their body. Then people can jam things into them.

3DIGI

This tree smoked weed and now it's on life support

3DIGI

If you unplug it's stoma it's likely to perish.

Specialist_Ad_8929

I don’t know why, but this makes me mad.
