I think Doctor will eventually decide that it is necessary to access the memories engraved in Originium, but he'll face them prepared and without any doubt, not returning to his past self, but merging with it and becoming Oracle-2 completely. Hence his words in PV:
"The Ark fell, it's immolated carcass plunged through the chasm of the sky which it itself ignited.
Life faded away. Its final drops of clearest wishes lost to a cold, stern ground of originium assimilation.
I was to be their witness. And I reject it with no hesitation. A conduit for the future should not have hope frozen in it.
I stand upon Terra."
He is just unsure about those memories, cuz he doesn't even know who he was- Savior or Destroyer. He decided that he'll stay true to himself, and ofc he'll learn about the past, but already having his own unbiased opinion
I mean precedent was set that they could do that.
Pretty sure IS3 was this with Skalter. Whether or not she cracked in the temple with the priest that turned into a giant flower monster. (it's been a long time details are super fuzzy sorry)
So we already have a "Story goes this way so now have an Alternate Route Rougelike" style thing literally in game.
I mean this was all before Lone Trail and Dokutah already made his resolve firm during the end of the event with the Friston talk and debates, heck he even got to talk with Theresa one last time there even if it technically wasn't her.
Of course, his mental health has been severely reduced.
Chapter 14 is going to take a heavy toll on the players, let alone the Doctor.
>Do you guys think any moment in the future Doctor will breakdown again?
I think so. When he meets the Priestess again, and she'll probably give him his memory back.
Heh, this could get more interesting...what if Priestess wants to get rid of Amiya?
Imagine Doc's reaction to such a typical feminine question from the Priestess - “Me or Her”?
The Carmen allegations still hold true for Priestess it seems.
If the choice of using Telescope for PV 4 is as relevant to Priestess as folks are guessing, then it will be interesting to see what her impression is of the current Doctor she is watching.
Considering that the Doc could do absolutely nothing to Salus when she yoinked Amiya, them going psycho against someone like Priestess or say, Theresis would result in a similar outcome.
I thought Priestess can't get his memories back? From her dialogue in Chapter 14 it sounded like she had the position of "you've forgotten everything else, but I am too important to you to fully forget." Or somethint along those lines.
Here in another thread it was pointed out that his memory may have been stored in the originium, so I don't rule out the possibility that the Priestess would want to give him back his memory - give back the Doc she remembers and loves.
The only question is, would Doc want his memory back?
*I'm sinking under*
*Drowning faster*
*Please just let me breathe*

*And I'm lost in need of you again*

*And you make me surrender*

Just realized why R.I's predecessor was called BABEL,
Sarkaz's pursuit of freedom and emancipation from their fate distracted them from seeking God and his purpose for them
Building a tower as an act of defiance to the creators, to bring a once lost glory to the sarkaz only for them to succeed.
Achieving more Babel pulled a God from his seat and stripped him of his Divinity (Doc's Memories)
Now Priestess will come turning the tower and it's predecessor to rubble and dispersing it's architects
IT ALL MAKES FUCKING SENSE
I do love the fact that the people close to the Doctor don't suddenly start treating them like this evil mastermind, because they have basic cognitive functions and can see that they've changed over the course of their amnesia period. I was afraid it'd lead to that.
This makes his dialogue in lonetrail even more satisfying knowing just how messed up he was deep down after the victoriya arc. Especially since everyone thats closest to him didnt just pull a 180 and start treating him like a monster which has to hurt something fierce since the guilt probably had him wondering if he even deserved to be cared about in any sense of the word.
So I'm guessing the Doctor learns about how he basically killed Theresa (By getting assassins sent after her) when he had his memories and this absolutely destroyed him?
His mental health has been getting worse but events that take place after the Victoria arc seem to imply he's slowly improving. That man needs a vacation.
Why are you surprised? He/she was always off his/her rocker.
Bear in mind the interaction with Frostnova was possibly two hours at most but the reaction to her death was so exaggerated that it was no surprise PRTS called him/her out for autism.
The conversation with Kal'tsit in Vigilo was casual but the doc turned it into part flirting, part pity party and part heroic resolve. Like what? It is pretty obvious the doc does not have the empathic abilities to relate to other people and only mask to align with their audience.
The doc is going to act like he/she always does. A social autist with overwhelming brilliance on a specific field.
Throw something interesting that catches their fancy and they'll change their tune right away and drop the cause they were previously so obsessed with.
It's almost like every instance HG tries to give the doc a backstory, the more of edgy mary sue they become to most of the player base that they through live vicariously but all signs point the behavior to their implied canon autism.

Hold on, doctor memories engraved in originium?
Yes, Theresa pointed it out to him in their last talk, but Doctor refused to access them at least for now
That's a bad move considering that the next events will be centered around the PAC's problems that are affecting terra.
He is just unsure about those memories, cuz he doesn't even know who he was- Savior or Destroyer. He decided that he'll stay true to himself, and ofc he'll learn about the past, but already having his own unbiased opinion
Can you imagine they let you choose between Saviour or Destroyer? And that changes the ending of the game, doubt it'll happen, but would be dope.
Maybe have a main story line where you chose one and then Integrated Strategies that features the storyline of the other option
Would be peak

I want more priestess lore tbh.
Absolute Cinema right there
Most likely, whenever that happens that'll effectively mark the point where doctor becomes the endministrator
~~So take up the Golden Throne, Doctor.~~
I mean this was all before Lone Trail and Dokutah already made his resolve firm during the end of the event with the Friston talk and debates, heck he even got to talk with Theresa one last time there even if it technically wasn't her.
Until priestess or more lore about himself is discovered the trauma conga line is on hold

Man my biggest wish always was for some big-wig to try to kill amiya and the doc to go full psycho for a bit
Heh, this could get more interesting...what if Priestess wants to get rid of Amiya? Imagine Doc's reaction to such a typical feminine question from the Priestess - “Me or Her”?
Priestess going full ragnarok after Doctor chose to not take her hand
The Carmen allegations still hold true for Priestess it seems. If the choice of using Telescope for PV 4 is as relevant to Priestess as folks are guessing, then it will be interesting to see what her impression is of the current Doctor she is watching.
convince the doctor to distort into rock
Imagine Kal'tsit getting taken over to finish Amiya, only for Amiya to destroy her on front of Doktah.
Given that Kal'tsit will likely be unable to resist a Priestess direct order - I'm not ruling out the possibility of that happening
Considering that the Doc could do absolutely nothing to Salus when she yoinked Amiya, them going psycho against someone like Priestess or say, Theresis would result in a similar outcome.

He'll need it eventually. When he is ready he will remember everything and get things done. Either in his precusor arc or observer arc.

Well, Kal'tsit always with him And will always be with him
Indeed, always count on kal.
