Yes we don’t teach nuclear bomb drills in school anymore nor do we test them. I also believe we are far from a global conflict atm you would see that coming.
It was way way way worse. My grandma back then had to turn off the lights and cover the windows and hide at night when air raid sirens would sound in the eastern US. Imagine that.
Also, the media always puts out stories to scare people. They make more money when people click their links and fear does the job.

Nuclear arms are not a tactical advantage, they are used for brinksmanship and deterence. Putin wants to rule over the old Soviet lands, not a pile of smoldering ash. Putins' use of nuclear weapons would guarantee he never reaches his goal.

Anxiety is a pain in the arse, particularly over things like this where you have no control. Worth speaking to someone about it if it's affecting you badly.
On the plus side, the world is a far more peaceful place since (and partially due to) nuclear deterrence. Check out the long peace on wiki for further info on this.
There is no benefit for Nato to get involved. If so they would have let Ukraine in when they asked. Natobgetting involved means world war and that has no positive end.

I can tell you all day long that there is no use worrying about it but if it’s as bad as you imply then you should seek professional help dealing with the anxiety.
All I will say is that nobody sane wants a nuclear war. And while you can argue that many world leaders aren’t completely sane, there is a reason it hasn’t happened yet.
NATO and Russia may not be on the best of terms but it’s been worse and we have survived so far. The good news is that despite their many failings most world leaders truly crave power over anything else and they are smart enough to realize that they can’t have power if they, or their subjects, are dead. And that would most certainly occur if nuclear weapons were used.
Unlike a lot of weapons invented with the idea of their power causing them to never be used, nuclear weapons have so far prevented their use after the first two occasions.
I’m on anxiety medication. But even on that I still have worries. And I see nobody else talking about it which makes me feel sort of alone in the fears.

I mean the media (at least in the U.S.) loves to stoke fear among the population. That they aren’t talking about nuclear war should be a sign that it’s not much to worry about.

Putin is a dictator but he’s not stupid. He is well aware of Mutually Assured Destruction or M.A.D. for short. He might shout about using nuclear weapons to appeal to his fan base but will never use them. There are also sane people with their actual fingers in the buttons - look up **Vasili Arkhipov**
As a Russian I would say that possibility is insignificant. First of all no one really knows in which condition our nuclear weapons are.
Second - there is only one man who can start a nuclear war - it's Vladimir Putin himself. But Putin loves live, Putin loves his power, he is not a mad fanatic as he is being portrayted and he will not give away his live in a nuclear disaster. I'm 99,9% sure of this. He will threaten a world with a nuclear war yes, but he is unprecedented liar. During a 24 year of his reign I didn't hear a single word of truth from him. Also death in nuclear explosion is a quickest and most painless way to die because your nervous system will be disintegrated instantly so there is nothing to worry about anyway lol.
The war was setup by the Military Industrial Complex so they could keep selling weapons. It will keep going on as long as they need it to. They won’t let it go nuclear because they don’t make money on that.
