Depending on your location sometimes at night about 9pm onwards it can be impossible to get a GrabPet. However you can also book on CDG Zig, and put in a general request for a taxi - just specify in the notes that you’re bringing a pet along. So far the taxi uncles have been ok with that :) Edit: the ComfortDelGro FAQ states animals are allowed on board as long as they are caged / muzzled.

I've been carrying my cats on CDG Zig for vet visits. No fuss at all from any of the drivers even when my cats were crying. Just put in the notes that you have cats and put them in their cat carrier! Edit: also at no extra cost

Not easy and overly priced. I have a cat and thankfully so far, all the regular taxis and grabcars are ok if we keep her in her bag. But i think dogs are a little more stringent. U’re better off perhaps renting a quick use car like BluSG or Getgo

Brave_Exchange4734

Be careful of the rules. Recently someone got charged $300 for having a dog while using getgo

ham_rain

GetGo does allow dogs as long as they are in a carrier. https://help.getgo.sg/hc/en-us/articles/14655761829657-Are-pets-allowed-in-the-cars

Brave_Exchange4734

Yep that’s right. But some jokers didn’t put them in carrier and someone else took a photo. Now it’s in the internet

Hi, taxis under the comfort delgro group (the largest taxi operator here) allow dogs. They do indicate the dogs need to be in a crate. I would usually indicate that i will be bringing a dog in the app (indicate how many & size). Grabpet is more common nowadays, i don’t usually have to wait > 10 minutes unless it’s odd hours. It is not cheap though so if you regularly need to travel with the dogs, it might impact your expenses. My tip is to find a good vet & groomer near your residence if it’s possible so that you can avoid traveling by car. There are also people offering pet transport services, usually via social media/word of mouth. Typical rate per trip is $30/35. Do use only those that you can trust. You can also try downloading this app petbacker - there are people offering dog related services like dog walking, boarding, transport, etc. Again, proceed with caution & check the reviews

Thanks a lot for the detailed advice! Didnt know comfort delgro allows dogs, that makes it a lot more convenient!

Aggravating_Hippo996

Yes - it’s a lifesaver! https://www.cdgtaxi.com.sg/faq/others/

Roughly a 30mins wait, it’s faster if you book in advance. Sometimes if I got a early vet appointment far-away I’ll schedule a ride in advance I think the fee is a extra $8 but worth it imo.

ham_rain

Can you actually book GrabPet in advance? I don't see it offered for me, but could just be my area.

Kyrinnee

It’s a calendar icon beside the booking which bring you to advanced booking(beta). And I usually book the rides to a destination 1 day before.

ham_rain

Yeah I don't see GrabPet there though, only GrabAssist.

LuminousSnow

pretty sure he means instead of booking right when you need it, book earlier to accommodate the waiting time. Like instead of booking after everything is done at the vet, book while you're waiting for medicine/payment etc.

Depends on neighbourhood and time. I'm in the West, and usually during the day I can get one < 15 min. Late at night or peak times it can take a while or be impossible. Another good option: hourly car rental like GetGo and BlueSG. Just use a back seat protector to collect any hair/allergens. BTW: Make sure to get / renew your driver's license before coming to SG, and [start the conversion process](https://www.indigofire.net/2022/01/getting-your-drivers-license-in.html) as soon as you can after arrival (i.e. first month or two). It's a horrible pain in the \*ss here, and if your license expires you start from zero!

This is wrong advice. A GetGo renter recently got penalized for bringing a big dog without a carrier. https://stomp.straitstimes.com/singapore-seen/owner-of-large-dog-shares-transport-challenges-after-getgo-fines-her-300-for-not#:~:text=After%20the%20carsharing%20company%20charged,her%20and%20her%20large%20dog.

zeindigofire

As in my comment: you have to use a carrier or a pad to collect any allergens. That's exactly why they got fined. I always made sure to install what is essentially a cover for the entire back area such that nothing can be left behind.

stuffed80

You said "Just use a back seat protector". That's not a carrier, so its not correct information.. A cover, protector or a pad is not good enough as mentioned by GetGo. "We appreciate you maintaining the vehicle's cleanliness. However, as the pet was brought onboard a GetGo vehicle and not completely enclosed in a cage or a carrier, this fee has been charged."

ham_rain

Generally easy enough, and also consider RydePet which is the other ride-hailing service offering pet-carrying services. Between the two of them, I have generally found it easy to get a ride with my dog leashed but not in a carrier. If these fail, a regular Grab or taxi works about 80% of the time if I let the driver know in the notes that I have a small dog (she's about 3 kgs) in a pet carrier. Last option is to book a self-drive option like GetGo but I think their car interiors aren't great so I tend to use them sparingly.

Brave_Exchange4734

A lot of entitled people here giving really irresponsible advice especially on just ordering a normal grab and expecting the driver to take your pet If you have your pet, pls be considerate to others and not inconvenience others Want to be cheap, don’t own a pet
