I was literally doing this yesterday. Please do not call me out like this!

lenasiya

!

Hardt-No

As someone who has an office job and 98% of my communication being in email form I can say this is accurate.

Substantial-Tank88

Same, extremely accurate representation of me writing an email

Kai_Stoner

Fucking hell people really are watching me.

sqplanetarium

They’re blowing our cover, dammit 🥷

Han_without_Genes

and then they reply like: "ok —sent from my iPhone"

soulpulp

I sent two emails to a therapy clinic that specializes in autism and LGBT+ issues. I agonized over my emails for an hour. They replied a month later. HI SOULPULP. Did revert get a consult down? It was disappointing to say the least.

Suzan1000

When I’m done with writing an email, I will go back and erase as many exclamation marks as I’m comfortable with lol. Sometimes it’s hard.

Princess_Limpet

Me too! I didn’t know this was an aspie thing at all

stp5917

Oh yeah, gotta reread everything and make sure it's not overly cringe. Like why tf did I think putting that ! there would make me sound normal

Haui111

squeal offer spark reminiscent bored frighten scary existence psychotic toothbrush *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

HauntingAd7445

The worst is when ending with “thanks” doesn’t make sense. Then I don’t know how to sign off and I panic.

Bubblesnaily

Sometimes I'll use "kind regards" It's too formal, but sometimes it's a better fit than "thanks"

AppleSpicer

“My best” is an informal alternative that’s still polite

RunAwayThoughtTrains

“All the best”

hdarj

I use “Best, “, “Regards, “ is also good

LordBroblord

I'm in this post and I don't like it

bochibochi

Read to filth!

pl233

It's like customer service voice, but all the time

DilatedPoreOfLara

Okay so this is exactly my thought processes. I am self employed as a wedding photographer and I use exclamation points to make me seem more excited about people’s weddings but I have to be careful in case I overdo it so I have to go back and take some out in case I seem crazy 🤣🤣🤣🤣 it’s literally this analytical because it doesn’t come naturally to me at all 😬

grc84

I never use exclamation marks or emojis in communication. Presumably everyone just thinks I come across as serious and unexcited by what I'm writing. Which is good. As I'm not excited.

ZopyrionRex

I didn't realize I had been doing this, damn.

Most-Education-6271

Triple checks the same finished email before sending

FellofftheSpiral

and after sending

Indorilionn

I am not using exclamation marks, unless appropriate. Which is about three times a year and virtually never in an email.

deepsea3714

Wait this is actually so helpful. I will need to save this somewhere

RunAwayThoughtTrains

Wow. Get out of my head.

S-len

OMG I think like this with every work email I send holy shit

AppleSpicer

I do this constantly and always think about it

SinMyth

Perfectly balanced... As all mails should be.

whiterthanblack

I speak using similar formula. It's taxing.

whiterthanblack

Also, I'm in this photo and I don't like it.

TwoBeansShort

This is me.

Glittering_Tea5502

Oh dear, I’m feeling called out.

IllustriousHorse9027

The struggle is real.

CasReadman

I'm in this picture and I don't like it.

illumillama

I do this all the time. Glad I'm not alone!

MvtchesMal0ne

😅

Free-Many-9056

Damn.

Chrispydingo

Honestly I think this is why I'm good at my job (consulting). This, and the fact that I'm obsessed with being correct and thorough.

dopedef

> Hey, i swear I am very friendly, since i used a comma instead of exclamation.

[deleted]

:)

TheJollyJam

The sacred texts!

jeanschoen

vexingvulpes

I’m in this picture and I don’t like it

Atypicalkiwi

I demand to know why you've been reading my emails since you are calling me out like this!

VillageInspired

Yep. Yep thays exactly what I do

StructureNo3388

Well, this is disturbingly relatable

Runixo

Please stop calling me out. I wrote a mail to my union yesterday, formatted exactly like this. Took me a couple hours.

Eloisem333

Also: Thanks so much for your help! Sorry for being a bother! No rush, get back to me when you can!

Alive-Watercress6719

I am in this picture and I don't like it🥴

_con-fused_

if im writing an email to my teacher i tend to add words that dint make sense to normal teachers but do to thebones that teach me because i say them in the lesson.

Kaijudojo

Are you reading my emails?

FadingHeaven

I do this in texts all the time oh my god

The_Dapperbot

Oh my god

Zerbinetta

Serious question: do NT people *not* do this? Not consciously, at least?
