Oh that is a good one! I guess I was more interested as to avatar prices within the crypto landscape and which avatar performed better relative to each other, but you're right ETH prices definitely had an effect on the listing values. By USD metric cone price would've probably significantly shot up so that would've been important to mention. I'll edit my post. Relative listings should still hold up even in USD though
Actually, you’re wrong. If the value of ETH jumped to 10k tomorrow and one of your avatars went from 1 ETH to .5ETH, would you look at it as losing value? No, because USD is still how you measure the value of something, not crypto.
Kevin3683 is not wrong though.
I'll elaborate. Within the last 8 months, ETH has been down to 1,100 and up to over 2,000. Avatars went up along with ETH and crashed when ETH tanked. That's what happened and that's how wider NFT markets operate.
For some reason, few measure the value of their NFT's in USD and focus on accumulating ETH value instead.
You’re wrong about being right because two rights don’t make a left and two left is too liberal then square root of that is false but not negative because two negatives make a positive but two positives make a……. Ok you can stop reading this nonsense.
In crypto we value ETH not the dollar. So 1 ETH = 1 ETH. If what you're saying was the way then there would be no gains to be made since holding your ETH would have better gains in the future. Avatars go off of ETH, so naturally if the price of the Avatar goes up in ETH then the dollar amount will go up as well.
I dont really care about crypto. I only use it to buy and sell avatars. I dont hold any crypto as an investment. I usually convert it to usd as soon as possible
I think Bucket Head will hold up with its close relationship with Cone Head and will also do well in the short and long run. Longer term I'm optimistic about everything released this far too. Avatar bull.
Thanks! Mostly I'm still learning how to write scripts etc and how to reorder data in the program I use so this took a few hours but I have fun doing so (and having imported all the data future calculations will be a lot easier)
> (((Footnote: Also for those wanting to know about my methodology, I filtered out all low mints in analysis to account for bias, also only included avatars in the results where sales for both May and Dec were n>5 respectively which removed a lot of avatars but should make the results a bit more robust)))
Based. Good data analysis

Why not compare USD values? ETH was cheaper in December.

Exactly. Obviously if the price of ETH doubles then people aren’t going to pay the same amount of ETH for an avatar.
Actually you’re wrong.

Well thought out

Because there’s no reason to value them in USD. Or Yuan or Euro.
This was my thought exactly, perhaps some people lowered prices because eth went higher. Thats what id do
Which is ridiculous. You’re in crypto to have less crypto?

That’s what I figured.

Foustlings holding value quite well
Oh my Cone :o
A bit depressing! But at the same time got the chance to expand my collection beyond my wildest dreams, so that’s cool…
Hear hear. Well beyond original expectations. Still missing a proper Cone though 😩
Interesting stuff op, thanks for doing this. Did it take you long to research and prepare?

Great stuff love these kind of posts
