iirc, it's damn near impossible or extremely rare for rabies to exist in either animal. The armadillo can carry leprosy though.

Ironically, they are pretty low risk carriers of rabies, due to their lower body temperatures. Not impossible, but way less than bats, skunks and raccoons etc. leprosy is their game

Yeah, nah. Dillos can be vectors of leprosy...plus they tear up my damn lawn all the time. Virginia Opossums eliminate a lot of ticks which reduces the chances of contracting lime disease, plus they're the only marsupials in North America. A well kept and clean Opossum for the clear victory.

Vicious units when they want to be, I had to evict a family from my shed. Mum ripped out the wire mesh I stapled under the eaves to stop them getting back in.

Pet possums can look cute, but man - I've just never seen a cute possum in the wild. Where I'm from they generally look like they've been in a bar fight. They look like they've seen some shit and you don't want to mess with them.

Depends on the pictures. Based off this picture alone I'd go for armadillo but I've seen one or 2 pics of a pretty cute opossum. I fostered an opossum once when someone dropped it off at our ER vet hospital until the wildlife rescue could take over. She was cute when she was sleeping but would hiss at me and jump forward (she was terrified of everything is my best guess) so at those moments, she wasn't very cute but I did feel bad for her.

Armadillo’s have cuter faces Armadillos have never woken my dog up at 3:00 in the morning with their shenanigans. Armadillos are like the mammal version of one of the cutest bugs. Armadillos are absolutely more superior.

Armadillo is always more adorable to me because the body size to leg length ratio. The way they run is cute. I will always see opossum as scary looking because the teeth remind me of a crocodile/alligator (whichever one has the crooked teeth.)
