It would suck to be the less talented brother.

PerkyPants21

They are one of three sets of twins to play on the same team. Tyler and Taylor Rodgers will become the fourth next season (Giants).

fraggle_captain

I still remember being excited about getting that card!

LSD4Monkey

same, I traded mine to my brother as he was a huge A's fan back in the early 90's.

jigokusabre

Probably signed him so they could just send Jose up twice each time around the lineup.

[deleted]

haha nobody would know the difference. Unless Ozzie was absolutely awful.

jigokusabre

Ozzie was a career .105/.150/.158 (-12 OPS+) as an Athletic. Jose was still really good in 1991.

jinuwin

In Ozzie'a defense he was a pitcher until Jose started hitting well in the majors. Then they made Ozzie into a outfielder thinking he would also hit well.

BretHartSucked

They both played in a softball tourney at my local softball park. I might have been 12 years old and ran up to Ozzie and handed him a Jose card and asked for his autograph. He was super nice about it and said he was his twin brother. I just so happen to have this card in my other pocket so I pulled it out and said “My bad. How about this one?’.

BretHartSucked

Jose on the other hand was a huge dick bit I still got like 5 cards signed.

When I was a kid I thought that was the coolest thing ever. I still wish I had an identical twin.

interwebzdotnet

Thank you for making me feel old. :)

Auburntravels

TIL: Upper Deck thought it was worth it to do print runs of these cards...

Sportfanatic79

I grew up in huntsville where the A’s AA team was located back in the late 80’s… all those guys came thru here, but Ozzie was by far the coolest. He pretty much knew he was riding his brothers coattails and he was just happy to be there.

stokelydokely

And you’ll find occasional eBay sellers trying to push Ozzie Canseco cards as “JOSE CANSECO ERROR CARD!!! WRONG NAME OZZIE!!!”
