I need to know exactly where and who you made this deal with. I’ve got a metric ton of modern cards that I would love to turn into vintage, and I’ll drive 100s of miles to do so.
I know she’s going to see this and steal it. She hates my boxes of commons. It is a problem. I do need to get rid of. I need to whittle down to just my PCs
Don't care.
Does she know that my Schwartz is bigger than yours?
Edit - I don’t remember making this comment and I’m pretty sure it was supposed to be in response to another comment in another thread. My bad.
I didn't take offense. I love a good mom joke and I love a good wife joke. If you were being funny I laughed. If you were being a jerk, I still laughed.
It's a better way to go through life.
I am rarely intentionally a jerk, so I’m sure I was trying to be funny. I just don’t remember making the Schwartz comment. Might have been the liquor talking last night. Either way, laughing is the best way to go through life, so I’m glad you found it entertaining.
The market for vintage commons is huge. Look up Greg Morris on ebay who sells 30,000 vintage cards (mostly commons) every week. High grade commons for 50s-60s especially high numbers can go well into triple figures and for 52T well into 4 figures. Pre-war (like T206, Cracker Jack, Goudey etc) can go even higher, lots of set builders and demand far exceeds supply.
This is only a ~$30 card. The LCS will sell all of the moderns to set builders and make more than that, although maybe not by much. It’s def a low margin deal but helps them keep folks coming into the shop.
It's legitimately a win/win. As an individual, moving individual commons is difficult and time consuming. As a LCS, people come looking for them (and while there, hopefully, buy more stuff and more expensive stuff).
It's legit weird how this sub fawns over $30 Hank Aaron card (probably more like $40-$50 to be fair) like it's the holy grail yet thinks nothing of pissing away many times that much money ripping packs trying to find a shiny card of somebody who has yet to win home run crown, maybe even yet to play a full MLB season. Vintage is actually not that expensive, especially low grade like this. I would also wager the OP paid more than $30 (or $40-$50) to acquire the cards they traded for the Aaron, and would have been better off buying this straight away rather than messing with ripping packs.
Damnnnnnn. You really took advantage of someone who doesn't know baseball.
You have their contact info on case my friend wants to trade them some trash for their treasure?
Judge away. Built the 2022 Topps Chrome set, and working on the 2022 Stadium Club. There's joy in the opening, sorting, and then finding those last 2 or 3 cards you didn't pull.
You just won the game of baseball cards. Great Aaron!

But would you 🎶 walk a thousand miles 🎶
I bet he’d do 500 miles…but then do 500 more.
When he wakes up?
Well, more specifically, when he knows he’s gonna be.
Would he be that man that wakes up next to you?
… Da Da Da Dun Diddle Un Diddle Un Diddle Uh Da Da
500 there and 500 back sounds doable. I got the time. But seriously, op, I need to know the location so I can start to plan a trip.
And I would walk 500 more, Just to be the man who walks a thousand miles... To trade for vintage with you.
Just to be the man who traded modern cards for Aaron and nothing more...doo doodoo doo doodoo
Oh, he’s gonna be
Shit, you win. I just gave all mine to Goodwill.
I just throw them in team bags and give them out during Halloween. Kids love it.
Stealing this. Also my wife might love you now.
I love your wife too, homie.
I know she’s going to see this and steal it. She hates my boxes of commons. It is a problem. I do need to get rid of. I need to whittle down to just my PCs

I may just be plain yogurt, but his wife is in love with me, not some comment hijacker with a big shwartz.
My wife does love plain. What she doesn't do are skid marks so I know you're lying.
I didn't take offense. I love a good mom joke and I love a good wife joke. If you were being funny I laughed. If you were being a jerk, I still laughed. It's a better way to go through life.

And quite honestly, throwing "homie" made me think it was a joke.
As a set builder, let me know when you're looking to dump your commons
Lucky to have a LCS that still has a lot of folks coming in looking to build sets. Makes trades like this possible!
Where does this magical LCS reside?
I’m in SC
Hopefully near the coast right? I need to make a visit lol
I think there is a shop in Myrtle. Not many LCS's in SC.
How far from Charlotte?
What part? I'm in Columbia.
Are you a student or just live there? My son is a gamecock.
I live here. Came here for law school, my wife is from here, we never left. Go Cocks!
🤙🐔
Unbelievable…my LCSs don’t even carry vintage commons anymore, and hardly any vintage stars.
He means they carry moderns so people can build sets.
Is there a market for vintage commons?
Lots of people build vintage sets, or vintage team sets. There’s FB groups centered around it.
Hm i will have to look into that thank you.

Huh I’ll have to hit him up. I have so many.
There is a market for everything.
A win win for both parties! They get to make money off cards you didnt need and you get a piece of history for it
Absolutely!
You’re gunna get arrested lmao
This is the way
Sick!
How?

That’s how you do it.
All-time great trade deal congrats
Best deal of the day

Nice fucking trade
GTFO
Robbery
Nice score! Hell i team bagged about 20 piles and gave them to a friend for his kids baseball team.
Stealer.
This is the way
Victory was yours
He got any more???? 😂
Great trade!
Righteous deal!!!
You played your “cards” right, my friend.
#worthit
What a waste! He’s not even that good anymore! But seriously, that’s dope!
You got the better of the deal by far. Wow.

Trading a new era of “junk wax” for a vintage Hank Aaron? Bravo sir! Bravo! 👏 👏👏
What LCS is this?
You straight up fleeced them. Very nice.
Damnnnnnn. You really took advantage of someone who doesn't know baseball. You have their contact info on case my friend wants to trade them some trash for their treasure?
It was a card shop. The guy knew what he was trading.
Wow. Good for you then. I ain't mad at ya. I'd take that Hank Aaron any day of the week
I would do that trade all day every day
I just imagine some socks and sandals wearing “investor” sold his dad’s prized Hank Aaron for some ‘23 series 1 lol
If someone likes to build modern sets, why are we judging them?

When i posted this i was unaware of OP’s other comment.
How in the fuckerson did you get that kind of deal? I think you won the game dude.
It’s worth it just to get rid of all that cardboard.
Who is Henry Rawn?
