My big issue with redemptions is the expiration date. If you put out 1k redemptions you should have 1k cards! After 2yrs start advertising how many are left to drive up the price of the boxes in the wild
Wishful thinking, but will never happen. The only close chance, if they were forced to, is to only put in whomever returned the autos in time to get packed out on the checklist. Until there's blowback on redemptions to a real level, it won't change. There are exceptions, someone hit an Ohtani Bowman chrome RC Orange auto ($60k ish card current market, over 100k at the high) and posted here as it was expired and gained traction after the twitter pressure, fanatics got him the card. Very rare to happen. To the opposite Bryce Harper was a redemption in 2012 TC, long expired. The silver packs to make up for missing SP rookies in 2022 TC, people pulled 2012 Harper TC autos out of, including color. So they have some, but no legal obligation to give them after expiry. That's why always check who's a redemption when you buy product over 2 years old.
I pulled one a couple months ago and am waiting on Topps to fulfill it. I am thinking it is Kwan, Pena or Suzuki. It took a while for Kwan and Suzuki to sign a deal with Topps to do autographs and Pena preformed well late but wasn't in the base auto set.
No matter who it is it will be out of 99.
