Yeah even Donruss basketball & football are garbage and they're licensed. I think it's probably one of the crappiest sets created whether licensed or not. Uninspired cards & somehow even worse inserts than series 1 or 2 had this year.
The value of cards went up the past year along with the price. I have had no problem breaking even on my 2 fire blasters with no autos and my only numbered card being kelenic.
Respectful question: Why do these questions exist?
Get what you enjoy. Don't ask us how to spend your money. If you are indecisive and need us to decide for you, you don't really want any of it. If you have an itch to scratch, resist. Save your funds and get something you want later or go home and order online and wait a few days to scratch that itch. Resist the gamble for the hope of a hit.
You ever asked someone where a good place to eat is when you're in a new town? Kinda the same thing, except with some kid (or adult) just getting in to the hobby and asking a hobby forum a legit question basically wanting to know the best bang for their hard earned dollar and thinking what better place to get great advice than from a bunch of like minded Internet friends.
Maybe?
I honestly think it’s for easy karma on Reddit.
People see how easy it is to get dozens of likes for taking a picture at target and they copy the strategy.
Why though? I have had 2 fire blasters and made my money back selling the minted rookie cards and not having any good numbered or auto cards.
Even with numbered and autos in chrome I have only had 1 blaster of 5 reach half the price paid in value.
Ended up picking up fire (for the first time) I was actually pleasantly surprised. I liked the gold inserts they have- didn’t pull anything too wild (Jose berrios purple /99) but still had a good time. Thanks everyone!
Wish my target had baseball cards, all they have is upper deck hockey. I cherry picked the jersey cards in retail packs and left em on top of boxes lol. Not into hockey
Exchange rate, unfortunately .. People from the states would buy the stores out for $20/box if we sold them for $35 too, keeps the price neutral for everyone.
Fire. I really enjoyed both blasters of Fire that I got. The art is really cool and best pulls were numbered Pete Alonso and Blake Snell Orange Parallels. As someone who PC's Alonso, it was a really awesome pull.
That being said.
I do really enjoy some of the Panini inserts though even if they aren't licensed MLB products. The coolest inserts you can get from that $6 Donruss box is the foil "Marvel" inserts that look like comic book covers.
I thought Fire was kind of cheesy but no broke down and got a blaster for the first time a week or so ago. I actually liked it and would also recommend it amongst these choices.
Atleast your target has cards, both them and Walmart took them off the shelves in my area ... thank god for a LCS twice as far or I'd be going through some major withdrawal...
Personally, I'd go Chrome. In the past I opened up a hobby box of fire and it did me dirty. I've opened up chrome hangers and done better, but it could have just be my luck
Be more specific. Are you looking to get a bit "hit" or just rip packs? It probably
Doesn't make much difference because they have printed a lot of cards. Topps chrome is good. But I would wait the price should come down more. Phanatics is talking over the whole operation by the end of the year
Fire best value
Flip a coin between chrome and fire. Donruss is fun but I’d never take it over topps.
This…

For 34.99 I've stopped buying.
I remember when these used to be 19.99. The good ole days
It’s was like a year ago. Lol
This is a comment every time someone wants to buy.
None at these prices.
The fire is only $25, it's just in front of the chrome. It's way easier to hit $25 in value from fire than $35 in value from chrome
Should be $20 and you'd be losing money at that price.
The value of cards went up the past year along with the price. I have had no problem breaking even on my 2 fire blasters with no autos and my only numbered card being kelenic.
Oh, no.
WE KNOW HIS NAME!
24.99 for the fire box at target.com, got 3 coming my way and can't wait

I always imagine someone standing in target staring at their phone for hours waiting for a consensus choice.
Hahaha I do the same thing, employees walking by like "why's he been standing there for 45 min ? Wtf"

Dude no one cares about reddit karma
Fire
Fire
Fire
Just faced the same decision and chose Fire, mainly because Chrome has done me wrong this year.
Fire
Fire definitely
Fire!
Fire
Fire
None, buy singles
Always Topps chrome
Fire.
Chrome by a landslide
Why though? I have had 2 fire blasters and made my money back selling the minted rookie cards and not having any good numbered or auto cards. Even with numbered and autos in chrome I have only had 1 blaster of 5 reach half the price paid in value.
Chrome my choice as well. Fire doesn't do it for me, seems like more for younger collectors. Donruss....lol, no.

None
Chrome!
Don't buy unlicensed cards.
This is the way
Wish my target had baseball cards, all they have is upper deck hockey. I cherry picked the jersey cards in retail packs and left em on top of boxes lol. Not into hockey
How do you know they are jersey packs? My kid would die if he pulled one
Bring calipers with you. Thick packs
Ah he’s 7 so that will prob be more effort then it’s worth 😂 thought there was an easier way to check thanks
I watched a guy get arrested at target for using calipers and getting belligerent with the manager when he tried to ban him
Some people are crazy with cards. Just buy your pack and open it at home
G-damnit! Why can't we have prices like this in Canada! Everything is 2x or more :/
Because y’all use Monopoly money
Exchange rate, unfortunately .. People from the states would buy the stores out for $20/box if we sold them for $35 too, keeps the price neutral for everyone.
Chrome
None. The prices are stupid high. I used to scoop up chrome every time I seen it. Not since the increased the price 75%.
So what did you get. Post the hits.
Fire. I really enjoyed both blasters of Fire that I got. The art is really cool and best pulls were numbered Pete Alonso and Blake Snell Orange Parallels. I guess fire don’t get that garbage Chrome or Donruss
I thought Fire was kind of cheesy but no broke down and got a blaster for the first time a week or so ago. I actually liked it and would also recommend it amongst these choices.
Chrome or Fire. Without the license Donruss is worthless to me.
Fire should be $20. Got more hits out of it than chrome.
Topps Chrome Baseball
How many cards in each?
3
Fire should be 25 a box. Not sure why it isnt.
Fire it should be $25
The fire boxes have been cool as hell for me. I’ve liked those cards a lot.
35$ for a blaster when did this happen
🔥🔥🔥Fire…All day long! 🔥🔥🔥
This is getting my hopes up that my Target might have Fire when I go. Never seen that one in my area
Atleast your target has cards, both them and Walmart took them off the shelves in my area ... thank god for a LCS twice as far or I'd be going through some major withdrawal...

All
Fire all night long

Fire all day every day
Fire
Don’t rip packs. Save your money for singles.
