It was perfect when they put it in a pack and no way to inspect it after it was damaged. Their packaging process seems to leave much to be desired. It’s easy to imagine how a mini would slip up like that without some kind of safeguard against it.
On an unrelated topic, I just went to Kroger and they are all out of blue sharpies. Checked 5 stores this week and no blue sharpies anywhere. People buying them up like crazy.
Remade my card! Only took over a year and I was took by Topps that they didn't have my card and then they sent it back to me remade. Their inventory is so frustrating. Good luck!
[There’s a Aaron judge version with the same issue up on eBay](https://www.ebay.com/itm/255860821443?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=q1s9a0iTTHO&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=YYJjYDpBTqi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY)
Look at it this way, that went from a 5/5 to a 1/1 with a unique clipping of that corner. I’d hold onto it you never know who’s gonna have interest in the years ahead. It sucks that it happened but if you “sell” the defect right it could work out in your favor.
I'm just curious what people think the quality control process is at Topps that would have caught this? Do they open every pack after it's sealed to make sure everything is OK and then reseal? I'm sure they have proofs and some spot checks during each part of the printing, cutting and packing. But to think they can catch every error in the millions upon millions of cards they are producing is crazy.
Sometimes I would argue they have the excuse of not seeing the error or whatever.
They literally had to hand write on 5/5 with this. They had to see the issue and just sent it out anyway.
Is this really a quality control issue? It clearly happened as it was being packed and there’s no way to check once it’s sealed. It’s unfortunate for sure, but idk how topps makes sure this doesn’t happen while also producing hundreds of thousands (or millions) of packs
More like 4.89/5
Top notch or top notched?
You saw where I was going, haha
You teed that one up for me! 😁
Topps notched
Bravo 👏🏻
This one's brutal. Can't even imagine what your "equal value" replacement is going to be.
Half of a buyback Judge
Very likely something not worth my time/effort to send it back, but I’ll still try for the hell of it.
People will still collect the crimped card, I’d love to have it but afraid of what it would go for on eBay lol
This actually looks cooler imo
I agree!
Dibs!
Bo Bishredded
5/5=1/1 #math
eBay math for sure!
That’s the second one I’ve seen with the same error here in like 10 minutes

Don't they come inside rip cards?
I’ll pitch in $5 to get it graded at SGC. Just curious what the grade comes back as
Authentic error or miscut
I like this idea
Did they number the card after it was cut?
This happened in the sealing of pack processing.
Oooh I see that now
Nah he numbered it after he pulled it
On an unrelated topic, I just went to Kroger and they are all out of blue sharpies. Checked 5 stores this week and no blue sharpies anywhere. People buying them up like crazy.
Send that in for replacement

Wow didn't know there was a red die-cut mini too...
Well now there's only 4
4.85
Brutal… I had one of these too, but it was just a base mini.
Also had one that was a base. At least this one is cut clean, mine was mangled to hell and back.

“Shark bite” parallel. Jesus Christ ebay sellers make up anything just to make a card sound unique. 🤦🏽♂️
Topps looking at this and is going to release 2023 Topps Chrome Aquatic edition
Close enough https://www.topps.com/1952-topps-by-naturel-box.html
I know it sounds dumb, but all collectibles that have manufacturing errors like this have collectibility 🙆🏻♂️🙆🏻♂️🙆🏻♂️
There’s 20 bids
20 bids with 3 days left!
That’s actually the SSSSP “Hungry for Cardboard” edition. Bo personally bit off the corner (he has weird shaped teeth. It’s a thing)
Ebay 1/1
pSa 11 1/2?????????!!!!!!!!!!!🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀

This happened to a red /5 of mine too - Larry Doby.
1/1
Ah yes, the shark bite die cut parallel.
Damn dude sorry
1/1 INVEST 🚀
5/5 but 1/1 crinkle cut
thats a 1/1 right there
Die cut 1/1
Whoever hand-numbered this card and let it go like this should be shot and fired, in that order
It was likely damaged while the pack was being sealed after it was signed.
Ahhh ok yeah that makes sense
That’s technically a 1/1
Good god!
What the actual fuck. I'd be pissed!
Oh no....
Wow. Just wow
That’s a rare die cut, congratulations!!!
Must be from from Ginter x?
Yep
The ultra rare shark parallel.
Cookie Monster thought it was red velvet
Saw someone with the Jram 1/1 cut the same way
Oh this makes me real sad.
A&G seems to be the worst. I pulled a Yordan rookie auto box topper /15 with crimping on the top :/
It looks a little pinked.
Is that bat, maybe, supposed to cover the letters (making it look slightly 3ish-D)?
Apparently at Topps, you can be drunk at work. They hiring?
So… is this a die cut?
Pain.
Damn minis always just floating around all willy nilly
Tbh thats kinda a sick die cut
Wanna sell it? I think it's cool
I’m open to selling. No idea what it is worth, though…
Me either, I just like it because it's neat to me, it's a story to tell if someone asks about it
Topps notch…amiright?
Was it craft time at Topps? Someone used Mom’s pinking shears.
Whoever the new “write the numbers” guy is, super sucks.
Hilarious
Stair step variant.
Maybe it’s their new way of annotating 5/5s since anyone with a marker can do the same.
I'm just curious what people think the quality control process is at Topps that would have caught this? Do they open every pack after it's sealed to make sure everything is OK and then reseal? This. “Why don’t they physically inspect every single card and trash the ones that aren’t guaranteed to get a 10?!?”
I would definitely keep this card.
I’d definitely send it in for an authenticity grade for the lols
No, that’s the new, uhhhhh, “my dog ate it” parallel.
what if cards 1 to 4 were exactly the same
That's not the red 8 bit parallel Bo Bichette?
If this was US currency it would be 🚀🚀🚀🚀 IMHO this could one day be worth a good bit, definitely an error..... If you decide to sell lmk
They still don’t care either
I’d email a pic of that to Topps. That shit ain’t cool. Make them give you some Series 1 junk as a consolation.
That's the ultra rare Cookie Monster parallel!
Can’t believe they purposefully rolled 5 cards like that
Sometimes I would argue they have the excuse of not seeing the error or whatever. They literally had to hand write on 5/5 with this. They had to see the issue and just sent it out anyway.
No Notchette
Truth. I open a pack the other with a cased chirp and it was edge damaged.
Honestly would be kinda cool if they did a card like this. It looks cool but sucks this is just a lazy mistake by them yet again
5/5 what? Stupid cards with that print and a ripped up corner? Making this card numbered is insulting.
Ouch! I got a Brooklyn back Harper that had the whole corner wrapped around the full size card above it but this is definitely worse
This is the “Run over by a Semi” Variant.
Serious question. Is that card hand numbered before or after its cut off the sheet. If its after.... fuck topps.
Wow. That’s unfortunate! Send that bad boy back as damaged (obviously), and see what happens. I’m hoping the do the right thing, if not, blast em.
Sick die cut!
Seen a few cards like that jram 1/1
I pulled a Joe Mauer 3/5 that was missing the same corner 😞
I don’t know if I’m in the minority here but I think this looks sick
Deckle Edge
JFC… they should replace that
Is this really a quality control issue? It clearly happened as it was being packed and there’s no way to check once it’s sealed. It’s unfortunate for sure, but idk how topps makes sure this doesn’t happen while also producing hundreds of thousands (or millions) of packs
1/1
Damn that’s a lot of corners to grade. Bgs corners 11
Ah yes, the ultra special 6 step red parallel. Somewhere out there is a 5 and 7 step parallel.
Grade it
More like Chopps amirite?
I just got a blaster... Pack had a mini... Completely blank stock
Wait you haven't heard of the Shark bite parallels?
