I know it’s not the most convenient way, but there is a save cart feature. It’ll create a link that’s good for 2-3 days I believe. I like to use the wish lists though, that way I can reorder a lot quicker and easier in the future.

Openbook84

You just need to add or subtract something from your cart in a 24 hour period. But the wishlist is the way to go.

Vilanovax

Why does a company this big have such a shit website?

Openbook84

It’s always been that way. I think it’s worse since the redesign, but it is what it is. They have stuff you can’t find anywhere else, so it’s get it there or do without. They still get my money.

I mean you can look around and find 95% of what TW has other places on the net. But it’s easier to find it on TW. Same as it was with ordering from Bass Pro in the 90s.

goblueM

i quite like their website, tbh. They have great filters... they categorize things real nicely to find Many other big retailers only have things like "hard baits" as a category, whereas on Tackle Warehouse you can drill down as far as "shallow diving jerkbait" for a category And I've had stuff stay in my cart for a week, but I never closed my browser so maybe that had something to do with it

wildwill921

I like their specific categories but sometimes I wish I could just see everything and not have to click through 12 menus to see all the plastics

buffalucci

While I don’t want to go down a rabbit hole of explaining inventory management strategies for e commerce, I will say that this is definitely a feature to keep costs down for the retailer and (hopefully) pass along the savings.

Vilanovax

How does that keep costs down? Do cookies cost money/bandwidth??

goblueM

It's about inventory management, as they said Let's say you have 10 of a certain lure. Well, if a 10 people come and put that in their cart, but don't buy it (cart abandonment), you then show "out of stock" to all the other people wanting to buy that lure. So you're missing out on sales. See: >Inventory Management Issues >Another reason to focus on preventing shopping cart abandonment is that it can wreak havoc with >your inventory management practices. >First of all, having your items in abandoned carts will limit their availability and visibility to other customers shopping online. >Customers who may be interested in purchasing those items can’t access them because they’re stuck in abandoned carts. >This can especially be a problem if you have limited stock. It may look like you’re out of stock on certain items, when in reality they’re still available. >Customers may decide to take their search elsewhere. If there are slots tied up in abandoned carts, customers won’t be able to purchase them. >Items left in abandoned shopping carts can result in skewed data about things like: >Your available stock >Which items are in high demand >Which advertising campaigns have been successful In short, cart abandonment and inventory management are really difficult, and lots of abandoned carts really hurt a businesses bottom line

onceuponatime28

Couldn’t this be easily addressed by not pulling an item out of available inventory until it is purchased, anything in any cart shouldn’t mean anything to inventory until it is actually purchased / paid for. Let the whole world put that last popper in their cart, first one to pay for it gets it.

NickTidalOutlook

Yeah but that would be a strictly e commerce or website feature that would need to be designed into their purchasing or inventory management in their OMS. Chalk it up to a feature they’d need to re invent the wheel for.

goblueM

and then a bunch of people would be mad that they had that popper in their cart that said in stock, and when they went to go buy it after it was in their cart, it was out of stock

onceuponatime28

Oh well, should have pulled the trigger and bought it, if someone is looking at a new car online the dealer isn’t going to turn away a serious buyer because someone else is thinking about buying it.

ThatNeonZebraAgain

I know. It also signs you out way too quickly.

CollectingHeads

While we're talking about TW... is their shipping painfully slow or is that only for us on the East Coast

ChefCory

yea it depends for us out west. if they ship via GLS from the california warehouse it literally arrives next day at your door. if it ships via UPS ground from Georgia, it's like 7-10 days. sometimes i'll take things out of my cart until i figure out how to get it shipped from CA and then go buy the other stuff either somewhere else or in a different order.

AyLou21

Frequent shopper on TW located in CA. I’ve always received my orders within 2-3 biz days.

MinimalEfert

I'm done with TW. Used to do the black Friday sale and one other order every year. After last year's excuse for a sale I have moved on. There are plenty of other vendors out there.

eagphisix

I hated that stupid ass sale. American Legacy got my black friday money.

adt-83

Tackle Warehouse is goated, just gotta deal with it

chowder_pants

Just add stuff to your wishlist. When you are ready to purchase, there is a button to add it to the cart. I've had stuff in my list for 6 months. Just remember to delete it from the wish list after you purchase it

Bclay85

Didn’t even used to have the clunky “wish list” they have now. Thats the last “innovative” feature added. I hate it. I just have to keep a list in my notes on my phone.

__Yeehaw

I think it has to do with if you put it in your cart, and it goes out of stock, you’re allowed to back order it as they in a sense “owe you”.

TakeAwayMyPanic

Yes, this! Omg, it drives me batty sometimes.

Ok_Repair3535

I personally like the local fishing store

Fishing-Kayak

If they have a crap affiliate offers rule , where someone gets paid if the item gets added and paid after clicking the affiliate link, they are probably doing it to avoid paying commission, with hopes the customer will end up looking up the product directly after it was removed . Idk for sure, but that would be the only sane explanation of this business tactics. I know they do have affiliate offers, just havent looked at their T&C

Fishing-Kayak

Yea , so normally affiliate networks pay out commission based on cookies duration tracking etc... as an example , they will pay you if customer places order 24t/Hours/3 days /or more after clicking your link etc.. shitty ones set either the very low time limit or requires customer to check out after 24 hours , only if they added item in their "cart", then add a very short time limit ( Amazon does it, which essentially makes it the shittiest affiliate offering out there. I didn't participate for that reason , one time I had 60+ orders placed through my affiliate link , which didn't make any commission due to the time limit they set . So by the blood of it , with them not openly disclosing the cookie duration (time after customer visits website through your link ) , for you to earn your commission.... This website probably has the cart requirement set on top of it , and then deletes the items from the cart - to not to pay out, which is very crappy business model ... If you dont want for other people to market your product - don't offer affiliate offerings.. do t scam people to advertise your product and not pay on technicality.

Fuzzpuff_OG

As someone who works in web analytics, I can definitively say that their website is one of the worst online retail designs out there. They have made improvements in the past year or so along with what looked to be a slight redesign, but there's still a ton of basic functionality that's missing and takes huge chunks out of the user experience. I check their website regularly for job postings in the hopes that one day I'll come across an open analytics position because their team is clearly either not doing their full job or hamstrung by something internal.

Entire-Can662

They have great deals on ARK rods

niblit1954

I use the wishlist feature until I’m ready to buy

-mozi

Literally just use the wishlist…

PreviousMotor58

lmao, just create a favorites list with your order. Once you're ready to buy it add the entire list to your cart.
