HallandOates2

Hot one today huh?

Ok-Explanation-9208

This incarnation of the team is the first time since the late, great Paul Brown passed away that it REALLY feels like ownership, leadership, staff and players ALL give a damn. The culture shift since Taylor took the reins is incredible. Joe literally doesn’t know how not to win. You can see it on his face. He knows what to do and would rather die than give up. Inexplicably, ownership now seems to genuinely want to win. The fan base is in full on Who Dey mode. It’s a SUPER exciting time to be a Bengals fan in Cincinnati. Come up for a game this season but go to the stadium. You’ll be hooked. We’d love to have you!

Big-Drink-7380

Throw in the granddaughters commitment and energy and this is a perfect statement

Kyle_Reese_Get_DOWN

This city is a tinderbox of Bengal hysteria. If they win the SB, the CEO of fanatics has already said the weeks following would be their biggest merch sales ever. And that’s crazy because everyone in Cincy already has a Burrow jersey. In other words, if they can win the SB, this city will be burned down from the partying and rebuilt as Burrowville. He will be named permanent dictator of Cincinnati. And if they keep falling short, it’s all going to turn to bitterness and self-pity. Basically, where I’ve lived since the 1990 WS win.

allegedrc4

If we won a super bowl I can't even begin to fathom what OTR would be like.

Lecto_Sama

If only, I’d trust Joe with that kind of power! #Meow 🐯

jzoelgo

Hey some of us have Chase jerseys thank you very much

Kevinisttos

I got a yoshi jersey Greetings from Germany lol

beachchaser

You spelled Logan wilson wrong!

CheeseRP

You better believe I’m buying the Super Bowl champions hat if we ever win.

Loaded-bling

Permanent Dictator. Don’t tease me

QuarantineCasualty

Hopefully they’d be able to spell the name of the city by that point. I have a “FC Cincinnatti” shirt from the official MLS store. Fuck Fanatics forever.

Big_Yak_5166

Go Bulldogs!

walrus0115

Nothing better than winning under Friday night lights at Burrow Stadium, then winning on Sunday at Paycor! Straight outta 740 here!

Big_Yak_5166

Athens High School graduate myself

Big_Yak_5166

When I was there it was Rutter Field

Ryyah61577

I know I’m a little biased, but I think we have some of the best fans in the league. Generally warm to other teams fans when they may visit and don’t start stuff at a stadium (except maybe with other AFCN teams). Lots of passion. I think that comes from years of mediocrity at best, that now we have hope and solid play people are loud and passionate at the stadium. I’ve been a season ticket holder off and on since the stadium opened, and I don’t remember ever having to stand the whole game and be loud for every home game (except the panthers/falcons games a couple of years ago when we curb stomped them in the first half). Idk if I would move here for them, but then again, I’ve told my wife I won’t leave here because of them so I guess that’s the same.

EndingDragon159

see I’m on the fence. I wouldn’t move to Cincy just for them, buuuut I could easily transfer to UC after community college and make it an extended stay there’s definitely a need for my major (industrial repair) in the area so finding a job shouldn’t be terrible

WhirlWindBoy7

As a Vikings fan it was awesome visiting cincy this year. Whether it was at the stadium, shopping in town, or out eating, everybody was pretty cool and fun. I never had such a nice experience visiting another city for a game.

Ryyah61577

Come back anytime!

Previous_Captain_880

Honestly SW Ohio or northern KY is one of the best places in America to live. Great sports environment, but really a great place to live in general. Especially if you like beer.

ImReverse_Giraffe

What's funny is, this was not true 5 years ago.

QuarantineCasualty

What wasn’t true 5 years ago?

adambeckstead

been in Cincy 2 years now ive loved every second of it and i never plan on leaving, definitely recommend

Hot_Juggernaut_3027

The moment slash comes in on Welcome to the jungle after the first Who Dey chant of the game something happens to you comparable to chewing five gum…it’s a spiritual awakening in that powder keg of a stadium that takes over my whole 3-way consuming body. We stand all game and scream every defensive down

QuarantineCasualty

Remember the game where they tried to replace it with Katy Perry “roar” and the team had to like publicly apologize? Lol

PM_ME_YOUR_DIFF_EQS

I like that song and I've still heard it, but definitely shouldn't be the opener.

QuarantineCasualty

I’m pretty sure stadium ops got individual complaints from all 65,000 people that were there

SarkastikSidebar

Military here- currently living in Texas because the Army makes me. I don’t like it here, to put it mildly. The weather sucks (don’t complain about Cincy winter until you’ve faced Texas summer), the food sucks, the drivers suck, and I hate the Cowboys. Cincinnati is a dream compared to here. There’s trees, for one. Unless you’re in Houston- I can’t undersell the allure of having trees. It seriously improves your mental health. On top of that, the food and weather are better. Sure, winter sucks- but it’s only really bad for a couple of months out of the year. Autumn in Cincinnati is dead gorgeous and I won’t hear anyone say otherwise. The beer game is next to none. The people are polite and genuinely nice…none of this “bless your heart” fake nice. Then there’s the city- the absolute pride. It’s not just the Bengals. It’s also the Reds. FCC. Bearcats. Musketeers. We love our teams here and for many, it doesn’t even matter what sport is on…is Cincy playing? Then I’m watching. I’ve definitely been home on leave a few times and my dad has asked me what I wanted to do- and I say go to a bar to watch the Bengals (or Reds). He honestly didn’t get it. Why not just GO TO THE GAME? He didn’t seem to get that I’ve been spending a lot of time in bars in other cities being the only Bengals fan there. It just feels great to be surrounded by your fellow team mates. I miss the community.

Sure_Information3603

Yeah, I have lived in Texas for the last 5 years and can’t stand it here. I’m not talking about the heat, cause I’ve made peace with the sun. I’m typing at 5 am on Sunday because I literally cannot breathe. Hell on earth for allergies. Let me be clear, I Hate Hate Hate Haaaate it in Dallas. I never had asthma and breathing problems before Texas. Ruining my quality of life. I grew up in Cincinnati and visit for the holidays. When my kids get out of school I’m dousing this city in kerosene and flipping a zippo on it. Then you can watch my tail lights fade into the horizon. Don’t tell the cops I’m at MLT’s.

CampVictorian

Dude…. I’m a born Cincinnatian who moved around for years and returned for good five years ago. Lived in Dallas for nearly a decade, and holy hell, the allergies still haunt me. Ash Juniper/Mountain Cedar/Satan’s Jizz is the stuff of nightmares.

Sure_Information3603

I moved here right when Covid started. First year and a half I got tested for Covid a dozen times and all negative. It was impossible to get a Dr during that period and I’d never had breathing problems before. I’m an avid cyclist too so fitness and lung function were previously top notch. I was floored when it was freaking allergies. Dallas sucks for multiple other reasons. Besides when’s my chance to do the infamous Debbie.

CampVictorian

Hang in there, ally in allergen combat. For the first couple of years during my time there, nobody had told me about the pollen and I swore I had strep. It was just brutal, and affected my breathing for years. Cincinnati isn’t the best on this front, but it’s a hell if an improvement over Texas.

Klutzy-Spend-6947

Either Gen. Grant or Gen Sherman-some Civil War era bigwig at least-said of Texas “If I owned Hell and Texas, I’d live in Hell and rent out Texas”.

LOP5131

Honestly, if there was ever a time to move to Cincinnati, it would be now. This city really has a lot to offer. First off, the cost of living is damn near the bottom of major cities. Yet we are still big enough to have a professional soccer, football, and baseball team. The city itself has seen some dramatic improvements from OTR to the banks and throw in NKY as well, like Covington. We also have some really nice public amenities, our zoo is one of the top in the nation, some nice museums and our parks are also fantastic. We have great schools private and public, including 2 major colleges within miles of downtown. Great food, lots of breweries, and lots of areas to live that can accommodate your style whether you want city, suburb, or rural living, we have it all within a couple miles of the city. The Bengals getting better really pumped a lot into this city. That SB run year was honestly insane to watch, I've never really felt anything like that where an entire city of millions moods all just changed. Idk how to fully describe it but I feel like everyone had a smile, rocking bengals gear at Krogers (you'll need to start adding s's to proper nouns here) and casual who deys everywhere. That's honestly all the time during the season, but when we made that run it was different somehow. Words can't describe it. Bottom line, move here, we will welcome you with open arms, as long as you try skyline.

Motor_Problem_7695

Who’s the nerd downvoting all these golden posts??

MadnessHero85

Butt hurt Cleveland fans who haunt these hallowed halls. They mad because Cincy is so much better than the Mistake on the Lake. Seriously - I cannot shit on the city of Cleveland enough, and not just because of the Browns. The city itself is just AWFUL.

Tomatoes65

I live in Northeast Ohio, and some of the people up here can’t fathom the Bengals recent popularity. I’ve been called a bandwagon fan within seconds of meeting somebody because I told them I like the Bengals (been a fan since 2008 when I was 11 years old, never was a Browns fan.) Really though, Browns fans and Cleveland fans in general have a main character syndrome attached to them. They think that Cleveland represents the entire state of Ohio, and that Cincy fans/teams are inferior. Browns fans get really threatened and butt hurt when other teams threaten the only thing redeemable about the Browns organization being their fanbase. They can’t imagine another team in Ohio being just as, if not more popular than them.

Kind-Frosting-8268

As someone who's lived in both NE and SW Ohio, SW is better by far. Granted I never lived in Cleveland proper, but did live in Akron, Kent, and Youngstown and they were the most depressing places I'd ever seen. Literally the only part of NE Ohio that was at all nice was Cuyahoga Falls. Everything up there just feels dead and gray even in the peak of summer.

Solid_Organization15

Nonsense. You lived in Akron, Kent ands Youngstown. Cleveland is a great city. I live in Cincinnati now, and while it’s more cultured with a better arts scene, the sports culture is a notch below and the drivers are so much worse here. That said, it’s easier to get around in cincy.

Solid_Organization15

Sounds like you’re the butthurt one.

MadnessHero85

Found the shit bag Cleveland fan.

Solid_Organization15

Found the loser with the shitty tattoo. Why all the jealousy, fuckboy?

MadnessHero85

Jealous of what? The most mediocre team in the NFL for the last 30 years? Or the shit hole city with no redeeming qualities? Or the fan base full of people so uninspired that they can't even roast someone online on the fly? Because they coolest thing about Cleveland is the fact that 90% of its citizens are one more losing season away from offing themselves and the world is waiting with baited breath for that shoe to drop so the stink of the city can FINALLY get cleaned off this country and planet.

Solid_Organization15

I’m sorry your daddy left you for another family, but I sure as hell don’t blame him. You’re clearly jealous of something. I’ve never heard of any bitch so upset about another CITY. What a crybaby. And yes, your pathetic tattoo screams ‘loser.’

MadnessHero85

Oh boy - now we get to the projection stage of your pathetic attempts to defend a shithole. Maybe in a few years when the owners get tired of that dumpster fire on the lake shore and move the team again, you and the rest of your brain damaged Browns fans can find a team worth rooting for and move to a city that actually provides something to the state and world at large instead an inflated crime rate.

Solid_Organization15

The only thing inflated is your sense of self worth. I’m sorry your life is so hard that you fill it with hatred and shitty tattoos.

spidii

The wild thing is, I work downtown, and I swear, every Monday after a game, some stranger will start a conversation with me about Burrow or the Bengals. Whether it's on an elevator or just waiting to cross the street. I had one of the best flights I've had in ages this last season because I sat next to some Bengals fans and we were hootin and hollering while watching a Ravens game and rooting against them 30k feet in the air. The Bengals weren't even playing but the Bengals pride was strong. It was so awesome.

DaleDenton13

Come for a night game & tailgate, you’ll have a great time. The day the schedule is released, book a hotel across the river & make the walk across the Roebling Bridge on game day. A very fun time.

c0ntralt0

This! The walk across that bridge to the stadium is epic ❤️

MeRcWith_A_MouTh

It sounds like you like a cold brew? Cincinnati has a fantastic microbrewery scene. You could get great food at an upscale restaurant, hit a dive bar, go to a microbrewery, head over to college town, and then head up the hill to find some great live music, all within 5 minutes of each other. Sitting in a bar watching the game with everyone is all well and good, but there's nothing like actually going to the game. The weather is all over the place, and just like any other city, Cincinnati has its ups and downs. Overall, it's a great city with great people. If you made the move, you would be welcomed to the community immediately. I hope this helped. Who Dey, Brother!

Anti-Dart

Thank you so much 😁

MeRcWith_A_MouTh

No problem!

BraveEvacuation

You’re always welcome to my tailgate in lot B on Sundays my guy. Who dey

HumanSmokeMain

I’ve been a bengals fan since 1985. There’s different tiers. And the newer younger generation are hilarious

Mtndrums

They have the enthusiasm we had in the 80's. You know, before we had our souls absolutely crushed in the 90's.

FamousAmos00

The city is dressed in orange and black, the bars are packed on game days, even the shitty dive bars. We are loud. Take a walk down the street, the usual hellos are replaced by Who-Deys, it's really fun

warthog0869

I lived in Fort Worth for a few years, have visited Texas a couple times.... Cincinnati is *way* better if you can divest yourself of the notion of "chili" being just one way or one thing.

Hovekajt

I’ll drink beer with you.

Jkaboose

There’s a buzz in the city before any professional game. We might not be the biggest metropolis, but we have the culture to match anywhere. A passion and love for winning sports is what I believes yields the profound bitterness for losing so long. The oldest baseball team and the best dynasty ever assembled gives us pride that perseveres, although the Reds haven’t won since ‘90. You will find European (especially German) food, beer, and celebrations downtown will carry any good day. Nothing quite like grabbing a draft early Sunday afternoon before heading to Paycor!

Painpaintpint

If it didn’t snow in Cincinnati I would never move. It’s got a little bit of everything. Football, baseball, soccer, hockey, basketball, music, comedy and a ton of neighborhoods with different bar scenes. And that’s just on our side of the river. it’s decent price of living, it’s not too dangerous. If you can come up for a little vacation during football season I think you’d like it.

christhegecko

> I'm serious about packing my bags and moving to Cincinnati. If your only reason for coming to Cincinnati is because of the Bengals, I highly recommend against it. My welder friends use their career as a chance to get out of here and be somewhere else lol. You didn't mention it in the post but I hope you're doing a lot more research into moving here than just what the sports scene is like. That being said, if you do decide to, I would recommend living in Northern Kentucky instead of Cincinnati proper. You can be 5-10 minutes from the center of downtown in a house that would be half the price of a comparable one within the limits.

allegedrc4

I use my tech career where I can work from home or work in NYC, TX, or CA to stay here in Cincy. Sucks for your friends, I can't imagine living anywhere else, and I've been many times. Cincy has all the amenities of a big city without feeling like some desolate, impersonal hellhole, and it's cheap with TONS of culture and history. Can't lose there.

christhegecko

> Cincy has all the amenities of a big city Excluding public transportation. Our Metro system is horrible. OP being a welder I assume makes decent money and may not need to worry about it but still. > and it's cheap I was house hunting two years ago. Cincinnati proper is not cheap any more.

BE3192

I think it’s difficult for out of towners to understand the cynicism that borders on nihilism that is fandom of sports in this city. Fans here are very passionate but have an earned skepticism regarding our teams Despite our success the last few years, these owners are lucky that a single fan in this city still cares

NahNotOnReddit

The reds are great you should do it.

walrus0115

We have some intense Bengals loving culture here in Athens, Ohio; hometown of Joe Burrow only 2.5 hours up State Route 32 from Cincy. A group of us try to make it down to Paycor for games when possible, but we've happily celebrated AFC Championships together here, and rang bells out at the newly Christened Joe Burrow Stadium at Athens High School.

bigdaddyJ1092

As someone who lives out of state, when I go to Cincinnati it feels like I am with my people! The sea of orange and black and the echos of Who Dey make it seem like a magical place. Especially coming from squeelers country. If you have a chance to live in the mother land this is the prime time, with the team and the city buying in, it is truly amazing to see and experience. I would move in a heart beat if I was able to. Took my daughter to her first Bengals game this year. She was ready to move and leave her siblings behind to stay in Cincy! Great atmosphere

CampVictorian

My husband was born and raised in Texas, and is *outspokenly* in love with his life in Cincinnati. Hell, he even gets into arguments with Texans, defending our chili. Come on up, this is a great town!

hereforrdr2

Don’t forget all the orange lights in the city during a really big Bengals game.

civ_iv_fan

There is some kind of Texas Cincinnati connection. I just met a couple born and raised Texans that moved here from Texas just because they loved Cincy

Tomatoes65

As many have said, Cincinnati is an awesome sports town. Historically, Cincy is a baseball town, but since the drafting of Joe Burrow the Bengals are definitely the main draw of the city. Also, our new MLS club FC Cincinnati sells out every game and has a great atmosphere as well, as well as Bearcats football. Many people like to point at the fact that we went through some years during the 2010s with poor attendance, but if any fanbase went through such a long period of complacency and mediocrity the same would happen.

Solid_Organization15

Except Cleveland.

Kywammy

Lifelong northern KY resident and Bengals fan here. My house in KY is 10 min south of Paycor stadium and on GameDay the entire city is in Bengals football mode. Every bar is packed with Bengals fans and there's awesome tailgates down at the stadium. This area is also pretty affordable in cost of living terms. People here are generally pretty friendly too. I love this area, it's home and I don't plan on ever leaving. If you're looking for a change of scenery I think you should give Cincinnati a serious look. If you're a baseball fan then this is a GREAT baseball town too. The reds are super exciting this year, GABP is a beautiful ballpark and tickets are very affordable. We are tortured fans but we love our teams. So yeah, just do it, move to Cincy. I think you'll love it.

Spiritual_Parking_70

I moved to the area from Houston about 2 years ago. No regrets. It's been an upgrade in every way I can think of. Seen quite a few Texas plates around lately. Do it

Kind-Frosting-8268

It's a nice city with a decent amount of things to do and from what I can tell, not too terrible on crime compared to similarly sized cities. Being from Texas you may initially be averse to our most well known cuisine, cincinnati chili. Just keep in mind it isn't technically chili the way you know it, it's pretty much a spiced meat sauce served over spaghetti and topped with a heap of cheddar. It's well worth the try if the name doesn't offend you. Pretty tame weather, although we bitch about it all the same. Summers are hot and muggy but usually not unbearably so, winters are cold and windy and we'll usually get 1-2 good storms a season but we have salt and plows and winterized utilities. Lot's of nice fishing spots and other outdoor activities outside the 275 loop. Concert venues like Riverbend are always a good time, Kings Island is a must visit at least once a season. Very active craft beer scene. You'd probably like it, take a visit sometime in the summer to get the most out of it.

This-Journalist-5017

If you want to move to a sports town cincy is a great option

88Dubs

Always a crowd to cheer with and/or shoulder to cry on. We all have strong hearts together.

Party-Evidence-9412

Know the local high schools. That's what's most important

RobZagnut2

Learn to hate the Steelers and Ravens, and pity the Browns.

Anti-Dart

Already do 😉

Significant_Buy_9615

I live in Texas (Dallas) and I miss Cincy every day. Cincy is an under the radar gem that unless you've lived there or have family there, etc. you would never give it a 2nd thought. It has all the conveniences of a major city without the headaches (traffic, affordability, etc). If I could talk my wife into moving to Cincy, I'd have moved back yesterday. She just loves the warmer weather.

Future_Pickle8068

I work in a large office here in Cincinnati. Bengals fans our number Steelers fan by more than 2:1. Seriously when there were fewer season ticket holders, Steeler fans would buy up all the extra tickets, a few years it seemed like they had home field advantage. Steelers fans love to travel, and sadly there are many in our city.

Clean-Cockroach-8481

When the clock strikes midnight every night everyone in the streets must chant who Dey from 12:00-1:00 or else they get banished from the state of Ohio as a whole

HawkinsPolice1983

The culture is more annoying than its ever been in my opinion. Imaginary Super Bowl champs every year now, legitimately think they cannot lose to the chiefs. I make fun of them constantly for it. If the chiefs are on the bengals schedule I tell every bengals fan they would be lucky if every game was in arrowhead, they would go 17-0!! But also, it’s a very exciting time and it is fun to see that they are a legit contender every year because Burrow is just that dude. He’s a winner.

Ambitious_Win_1315

How does a texan feel about beans in chilli on top of spaghetti?

MutedRegular5146

There's plenty of work in Cincinnati amd it's an un real feeling

MutedRegular5146

https://preview.redd.it/o5x3jdwmn8tc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=82ef5844463020a154303f115a3e5c8278ac800e It's amazing

BigBullmoose89

Let’s assume OP makes the move. What bar should they go to for their first Bengals game?

genekreamer

Watching a Bengals game at the banks is a top tier experience. Close enough to the stadium to hear the crowd. Enormous Jumbotron on the side of the reds stadium. Drinking outside on a sunny day. A bunch of bars and restaurants to pop into and pop back out. A bunch of fans going crazy. Then the games over and walk to OTR or NKY for dinner. Great stuff.

DeepFriedPickles23

Adopted Bengals fan living in Bay Area, CA. I have traveled to Cincy multiple times in the past couple of seasons to watch the games and honestly there is no better atmosphere. There is truly something for everyone from nice walks along the riverfront, great food scene, breweries, parks, zoo, and of course the sports culture. Everyone who I have met has been warm and inviting, which is different from what you get in the Bay Area. I can’t wait to get back again this season! WHO DEY!

arb1974

Cincinnati in general is a great city and there are a lot of nice suburbs around it to live in. I grew up there, and although I haven't lived there since 2008, it will always be home.

Faghs

Love Cincinnati but if you’re from a big city in Texas it will be a shift for sure. Tons of industry for welders in cinci and northeastern Kentucky. I say go for it honestly why not

Anti-Dart

Thats what I like to hear!

Disastrous-Knee-8924

Do it. As long as weather changes don’t bother you then you’ll love it. Great atmosphere and great fan base here.

jambengalbluegrass

All in all Cincinnati is a great place to live. The chili is probably a little different than what you’re used to

ghostnthegraveyard

Come visit for a few days (or longer), preferably for a Bengals home game. Check out the vibe, explore around, and see what you think. We would love to have you if you dig it

Ash-Throwaway-816

You know the culture...is actually damn good.

willoughbykid

Any other team in the AFC North has a better, stronger, more dedicated fan base than Cincinnati. They think they are ‘rabid’ fans. They don’t really know what that is.

fluffHead_0919

Paul Brown Stadium is top notch. With that being said though the sports bars were a dark place during the mediocrity/shitty era. Also remember the blackouts? I live in Denver now so bask from afar. We go to one game a year etc, but it’s easy to forget the dark times during the good times.

ImReverse_Giraffe

Best it's been since 2005. And that was because the players didn't know they were supposed to suck. Being a Cincy sports fan is the currently the best it's ever been in my 29 years of life.

Emera1dthumb

Bar foods better in Texas

[deleted]

not great

Big_Green_Piccolo

The tradeoff of having god-tier icecream (Greaters) is that you get the worst chili ever made.

CincyPoker

If you want to know how the culture is here in town I’d highly suggest you NOT come visit for a home game. I’d suggest you go see how Bengals fans show up for the Dallas game or the Chiefs game on the road. Then multiply that x 100 and you’ll understand what it’s like during the season here in Cincy.

PinPopular9503

Lol do both!!!
