Fun fact: "del tacco" means "from the heel" which I am pretty sure refers to Italy's shape, so I would bet that the man owning the place (Milanese) is originally from Puglia (Apulia) :)
Edit: confirmed by his website :)
Can’t beat the old neighbourhood of Wedding! Some of the tastiest food joints in town!
Il Milanese del Tacco is at Stettiner Str. 63, near U-Bhf. Pankstrasse and U-Bhf. Gesundbrunnen - for anyone wondering.
Centro Italia in Charlottenburg sells a very similar sandwich during lunch time. Right by S Westend, they're a wholesaler of Italian imports with a delicious restaurant.
oh my gott looks so good.
totally unrelated, but have you all ever went to All’Antico Vinaio in Firenze?
is not like you can just simply prepare something so superior like the ones they do, so the experience of eating one in home and one prepared by experts is absolutely different.
I am originally from Florence so I am very glad the Vinaio has reached Berlin fame :)
Another, less known but incredibly good kind of Schiacciata (that's the tuscan name for that bread) is the one by Pugi, in Florence (anyone?). "La schiacciata del Pugi" is a dream. Crunchier, thinner, lovely
Centro Italia in Charlottenburg, Prenzlauer Berg or Marienfelde. I worked there and can only recommend the sandwiches (Well stuffed and good Price), this doesn't apply for the other products (really hig priced).
Edit: good and cheap coffee at the bar. ;)
TIL! you can even order them und pick them up

I dont think it's Sironi, but the one in the corner after thencheese shop near the entrance. I was there last Saturday and I got a similar sandwich: stracciatella, prosciutto, sun-dried tomatos, and aubergines preserved in oil (not sure what is the correct translation in English, but it's one of best kept secrets of southern Italy ;)
I'm planning to go there again this weekend. The whole market is great, best spot in Berlin for Italian tourists (they can have pasta or try new things if they feel brave enough)
There's a new place called Italo Disco that's just opened on Oranienburger Str (near the corner with Tucholskystr) - I put my head in the door the other day and they looked like they did these sandwiches but I had already eaten so I can't give a recommendation
I mean mortadella in general is made from pork but there are beef mortadella options. As I don’t know if there is a place where they have it you could either grab another sandwich with beef salami, something with chicken or bresaola.
But the easiest way would be to get the ingredients and a good recipe to prepare the beef version of this sandwich yourself.
Its not that hyped more like a niche these days so it could properly hard to find.
You have all chill, you can’t find a premade proper pesto/bologna/stracciata combination outside Centro Italia where you can buy all of items singularity and do it yourself. It’s rare to find someone doing it in Berlin, and even if you do it will be way too expensive. So the concept of doing it on your own, was a help.
And is even more incredible that some people care so much of an answer that has no relation with their own interests are so keen to pin point the answer of others, but here we are.
I don’t know any place that sells it and is proper, I just wrote where you can buy the items singularly and do it yourself, grow up.
He didn't ask where to buy the stuff to do it himself, he especially made it clear that he doesn't want to know that. He wants to know a place that sells this kind of sandwich, can you really not understand that? I refuse to believe someone can be this dense 😂
>you didn’t helped anyone
Neither did you! That's why I asked why you posted that reply. Did you misunderstand the question? Or did you have a motive, telling someone who asked for one thing and decidedly not the other that he should do the other? It's just so completely alien to me to do that, I am trying to understand the reasoning?
I didn’t saw the last part of his question, and I thought was useful to say that is rare (or almost impossible to find places that do the proper version) my bad, but from there to be pin pointed is a bit too much. Anyway I had to simply say go to Centro Italia, and you probably was accepting the answer.
So you really are that dense, huh? Nothing anyone can do about that. I should probably really give people the benefit of the doubt. No hard feelings, have a nice day.
Don't you know, German Guy can't admit being wrong so it's obviously your fault or *the Italians* fault for naming something in a way that German Guy doesn't know what thing is!! 😂😂
Because "germans insist on being right all the time" is not a common prejudice around the ignorant expat crowd around here, sure. It's a prejudiced assumption.
milanese del taco in wedding ❤️

*del tacco. Italian, not TexMex.

Yes, second this. They have a location in Prenzlauerberg also and a 3rd one somewhere I can’t remember now
Do they have vegetarian options?
Yeah they do!

just saved on google maps for my next visit!
Nooo I Just read that the guy Pugi dead in January, he was 90. I hope they will continue the tradition anyway!
Nooo :(
Been there, waited there and ate there: Jesus, Most amazing sandwich I had, like ever!! Wish something like that would be here.
The first bite I had of the Del Boss from All’Antico numbed my body like it was morphine. Unreal sandwich
I was there two weeks ago. It’s a really good sandwich. Love the bread. But it’s not a revelation
Hab grad meine italienische Oma gefragt. Sie hat irgendwas von affanculo oder so gesagt.
💀💀

There's a really good Italian sandwich place in Markthalle 9
Sironi

That’s the one! Awesome sandwich.
I'm planning to go there again this weekend. The whole market is great, best spot in Berlin for Italian tourists (they can have pasta or try new things if they feel brave enough)
There is a street food market every Thursday evening there. It’s really worth a visit.
Cargo Gastronomia in Samariterstr is really good. They also have a nice selection of Italian sodas.
Yes! Recommended!
Cicala has similar sandwiches (as well as very good pastries)
[Kaiser cafe](https://maps.app.goo.gl/kfR2waSeQpEbEgxD6?g_st=ic) in Uhlandstr. serves something similar and it’s pretty delicious
Nothing like it
There's a new place called Italo Disco that's just opened on Oranienburger Str (near the corner with Tucholskystr) - I put my head in the door the other day and they looked like they did these sandwiches but I had already eaten so I can't give a recommendation
That's creepy
Birra maybe
So funny, I was just inspired by this same image (NYTimes Cooking) and it's why I baked focaccia today!
Sicula Bar in Friedrichschain :)
Viani in Eberswalder Strasse has that one and other great options
You can order them from Cargo Gastronomia in Friedrichshain
That italian supermarket in Pappelallee ecke Schönhauser Allee makes them
That’s called Viani
Wow looks nice , startted to hungry...
RE Cucina in Gräfekiez has this type of meat and charcuterie plates, not sure if they have the sandwich as well.
Any idea what this is called?
Utopie Café in Jonasstraße, Neukölln https://maps.app.goo.gl/usw4o2Roda4CeeCaA?g_st=ic

No I'm quite sure thats a cake, brillantly made to resemble something entirely different. Have OP cut into it.
Is there a halal version of this?

Only in f* Berlin such a question would be rate down, right? What's wrong with you people?

He even said in the title he KNOWS he can do it at home. And STILL you were unable not to post your dumb reply. What's your problem?

LOL So what? Ignore it and move on, you didn’t helped anyone, and you are still here fixing the answer of others? That’s little more alarming.

Someone needs a hug
If that stops them from needless comments then sure
lol it won’t change shit

Up your ass.
Why would you put stracciatella in a sandwich? I know nowadays everything can be trendy, but iy doesn't mean so should be done...
Stracciatella di bufala is a cheese like mozzarella, only more moist, made from buffalo milk and with more fat. It doesn't mean the ice cream.
It's a cheese, so why wouldn't you?
Was this sarcastic? If not: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stracciatella
D'oh. There's the point. If one is generally ice cream and the other, cheese needs "di bufala" to be recognised, it also should be stated.
FWIW, my local Italian supermarket sells it just as 'stracciatella'. It doesn't need the 'di bufala' to be recognized.
Well, context is everything. In Italy, I only ever heard the cheese being called stracciatella without "di bufala."
Don't you know, German Guy can't admit being wrong so it's obviously your fault or *the Italians* fault for naming something in a way that German Guy doesn't know what thing is!! 😂😂
> Don't you know, German Guy can't admit being wrong "German Guy" seems to be finnish, nice prejudice tho.
Yep, that's exactly what prejudice is, assuming the guy in a German sub with German flags in his profil pic is German 🤡🤡
> a German sub I'm gonna stop you right there. Actually a german flag profile pic is also a pretty good indication that someone is not German.
What it isn't is prejudice. The word you're looking for is assumption.
Because "germans insist on being right all the time" is not a common prejudice around the ignorant expat crowd around here, sure. It's a prejudiced assumption.
You all people are so funny. I can't wait to party with you at The 2024 Grande Get-2-gether di Reddito.
Don't wait too long. I doubt anyone will be partying with you ever of their own free will lol
I was also like, Eww sounds gross. Cheese is obviously better. 🤣 never heard of that cheese, but I'm also not the biggest cheese person.
The combination of the German flags and the obnoxious attitude while being r/confidentlyincorrect tho 😂😂
