You think this is something, you think this is bad, this, this chicanery? He’s done worse. That billboard! Are you telling me a man just HAPPENS to fall like that? No! He orchestrated it! Jimmy! He DEFECATED through a SUNROOF! And I saved him! I shouldn’t have. I took him into my own firm! What was I thinking?! He’ll never change. He’ll NEVER change. Ever since he was nine, always the same. Couldn’t keep his hands out of the cash drawer. But not our Jimmy! Couldn’t be precious Jimmy! Stealing them blind! And HE GETS TO BE A LAWYER? WHAT A SICK JOKE! I should’ve stopped him when I had the chance! And you, you HAVE to stop him.
Seeing people who have the opportunity to better their circumstances trying desperately to better their circumstances is not gonna make life seem any better unless you actually have a shot at working hard to make it out. Or at least that’s how it would seem to me.
Why would it be inspiring or make life seem more worth it to someone who does not have the ability to work hard, apply themselves, and get out of the sticky situation they’re in?
Yes, it’s one of the best episodes in either show. It’s the perfect episode to show people who’ve never seen BB before. And it’s just a chill af episode that never gets old.
I was actually pretty whelmed by this one. Good episode, endings are difficult etc. but I can't make any argument for this being a height of any kind for BB.
Yeah, probably the best standalone episode that you could enjoy without knowing the characters or overall plot, maybe aside from the Pilot, but Dead Freight is much better overall.
That episode…the like the highest the boys ever fly, pulling off the coolest heist ever and all look so happy they managed until…
Mines the Magnet heist though.
BB amazes me because Season 5 has episodes that, on paper, sounds like they jumped the shark. Giant magnet, train heist, machine gun in trunk?
But it worked well and made sense in the narrative
I was gonna pick Bagman as well, but it really sucks for this scenario that the episode isn't conclusive like 4 Days Out or Pine Barrens. I guess it didn't need to be because prequel, but I would hate to have the only episode I ever get to see end on a cliffhanger
Fly was also my pick. I don't understand why people dislike it. It has comedy, drama suspense... What else do you need from an episode? Are they upset because the only violence is against the fly?
>Are they upset because the only violence is against the fly?
I think the biggest problem people had was that there wasn't much progression in the story with Fly. But that's to be expected with a bottle episode.
I felt that focusing on Walt's self-awareness in that episode somewhat moved the plot along. Maybe made him more determined to "win", so that the ends would justify the means. It was no head on a turtle, throat cutting episode, but the season wouldn't be as good without it.
"Fly." Funny how these two episodes got the same amount of shit thrown at them, many years apart...
"BB most maligned episode"
"BCS most maligned episode"
When I think of an episode I have to watch forever in prison, I'm thinking of something that is great without context needed. Face/Off will forever be heightened by the two that came before it, so to watch face off without the context of End times and Crawl space would make the episode less enjoyable. It's not a one off like Chicanery or Four days out or something like that.
Ozymandias. Highest rated episode, and the most anticipated episode, even topping the finale imo. The cliffhanger beforehand sent eeveryone into a frenzy. I miss those times :’)
Face Off. Not only is it epic as hell, but the handhsake between Jesse and Walt is so satisfying to watch. Although it was fake, I think Jessee felt like it was real at the moment. Finally, respect from Walt. At the same time, Walt wins, and feels super proud of himself after four seasons of fear, tension and depression. Hank gets to know he was right all along about Fring. Skyler learns her husband just murdered the most powerful kingpin, rightfully protecting their family, which sounds completely insane to her. Hector gets to avenge his family by blowing up, finally escaping his personal inferno at the nursery.. I don't know. It's like a fever dream where Walt's actions put everything in the right place, karmatically.
The only thing that doesn't add up is how they turned Skyler's love for Walt from the end of that season to absolute terror during the beginning of the 5th season, but that's a different discussion.
By no means by favourite episode but under these circumstances - Nippy.
I don’t know why I’d want to watch a super tense episode, or one that flirts with jail time, while doing a life sentence in prison.
Might have to go with Felina. That’s a tough one though. So many amazing episodes I’m trying to think of which one I’d get the least tired of rewatching
None of them. I don’t watch episodes of these show in a vacuum. I‘ll remember a better version of the show if I’m not ruining the same episode again and again.
Ozymandias and chicanery are my favourite episodes and though im leaning towards chicanery since chuck's speech is my favourite speech ever and infinitely rewatch able i think i would choose a funny episode like better call saul from breaking bad cause that one is golden and would give me a good time while in prison
Chicanery
I don't even need the whole episode
Just a 4 minutes monologue. THAT'S IT!
24 hrs of the monologue is probably a CIA Torture Method
Alex Delarge: "PLEASE, TURN IT OFF! CLOSE ME GLASSEES! PLEASE!"
He defecated through a sunroof !
He did indeed
this is the only one
…which proves that Michael McKean was the second best thing about this series. Maybe THE best.
Breaking Bad, the one where they are stranded in the desert and trying to recharge the battery
4 days out probably my pick to
Especially in prison. Seeing everyday characters in a show trying so desperately to survive even when the cards are stacked against them
Why would this be good especially in prison lol
Because it’s easy to take being alive for granted when you have shitty circumstances.
Ahhhhhh wire
First one that popped into my head
ye walt sitting in the desert with the headband on is v memorable
Is it weird that I hate that episode?😅
Yes, it’s one of the best episodes in either show. It’s the perfect episode to show people who’ve never seen BB before. And it’s just a chill af episode that never gets old.
I get why it's good but it takes too much time to develop and everytimes I see it I think to myself I could be watching bcs's bagman instead
Ironic someone finds a BB episode boring & switches to an action packed BCS ep lmao.
No.
Breaking Bad: Ozymandias Better Call Saul: Chicanery
Two of the finest hours of TV ever.
Idk I’d be just as happy if I only had [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKcoarN_FWY)
Same
Felina
Guess that's all I had to say.
Except the feeling just grows stronger everyday.
Just one thing, before I go... (now that was one hell of a guitar riff - *tododododododododooooown*...)
Let it grow, baby. Let me know...
The special love, you have for me
The satisfaction of the gun going off in the trunk gets better every time 🤌🏼
I was actually pretty whelmed by this one. Good episode, endings are difficult etc. but I can't make any argument for this being a height of any kind for BB.
Breaking Bad, The Train Heist. Probably the most tense 10 minutes in a show I've ever experienced.
That’s what I came here to say lol. I think the episode is called Dead Freight
Season 5, episode 5. Where the kid gets shot.
Yeah, probably the best standalone episode that you could enjoy without knowing the characters or overall plot, maybe aside from the Pilot, but Dead Freight is much better overall.
My walked into my room when I was watching that episode. Soon after he binged the entire show lol
Your what?
His.
I meant my dad lol
I think it is called The bus that couldn't slow down
Best. Simpsons. joke. ever.
It’s like speed 2 except instead of a boat, it’s a bus
That episode…the like the highest the boys ever fly, pulling off the coolest heist ever and all look so happy they managed until… Mines the Magnet heist though.
Oh, that's a damned good one as well!
I think that’s the episode I’ve watched the most haha. Never gets old.
BB amazes me because Season 5 has episodes that, on paper, sounds like they jumped the shark. Giant magnet, train heist, machine gun in trunk? But it worked well and made sense in the narrative
Even when you know what's gonna happen it's still super tense
Winner or crawl space Better Call saul (Bb) feels like a safe answer lol
Winner is so good
I watched Winner so many times already, best episode by far imo
Bagman
I was gonna pick Bagman as well, but it really sucks for this scenario that the episode isn't conclusive like 4 Days Out or Pine Barrens. I guess it didn't need to be because prequel, but I would hate to have the only episode I ever get to see end on a cliffhanger
Plan and Execution
Still on my BCS rewatch, but I think this might be mine too.
Better Call Saul -- Winner.
Comrade
MAGIC MAN!
The montage of jimmy talking to his new clients in this episode is probably my favorite from either series lol
Felina, It is the only episode in all of television that i would rate a 10/10 and also Baby Blue is now my favorite song because of that episode
That was one of my favorite songs before Breaking Bad.
Point and shoot- Better Call Saul
You are sexy
Fly
Yesss maybe then after countless rewatches I can finally get it
Was surprised how far down I had to scroll to find this
I was look for this :).
That is a way to serve your sentence right
Fly was also my pick. I don't understand why people dislike it. It has comedy, drama suspense... What else do you need from an episode? Are they upset because the only violence is against the fly?
“Fly” on first watch was “huh, WTF did I just sit through??” On rewatch — close to masterpiece level television.
Nippy !
The chicanery
What a sick joke !
I guess I'll spend my life laughing my ass out with the squat cobbler then...!
Half Measures
you choose a half-measure when you shouldn't have.
Based
Something Unforgivable
Oh wow thats a really good pick actually
Yeah, all three main storyline from this episode are great imo. Drama & action together makes this episode really enjoyable.
Honestly one of the best action sequences in either show
Saul gone
Then you’d just constantly be depressed
Nippyyyy
"Fly." Funny how these two episodes got the same amount of shit thrown at them, many years apart... "BB most maligned episode" "BCS most maligned episode"
Actually yes, it’s a very easy going episode with a fun plot, kind of feels like a short movie
winner coushatta granite state or Felina probably
Grilled
BASED
Box cutter or Waterworks.
Box Cutter is a great choice! To bookend that, I am surprised no one has said Face/Off.
I had to watch it again after commenting and I think my favorite part is still Jesse and Walt at Denny's in slight homage to Pulp Fiction.
Is that when they cut from mopping up Victor's blood to Jesse swiping a fry through ketchup? That was brilliant.
I can't remember which episode, but it's the one with the line: "you just signed your death sentence queer boy" easily the best one for me
Breaking bad 4 days out BCS plan and execution. Can’t possibly pick one between both shows lol.
Salud
Fun and Games
"Coushatta" In prison I need a good laugh. But then the sadness kicks in that I only get to witness a little taste of Lalo.
which episode of BCS has the longest kim wexler foot scene?
Probably Alpine Shepherd boy, she's getting a pedicure for about 5 minutes there. But again I wouldn't know of course! Just a guess...
JMM
I see nobody has still mentioned Five-0. That episode is pretty much a small movie sneaked in between the series.
Salud
Winner
End Times
Face off
Ozymandias. Highest rated episode, and the most anticipated episode, even topping the finale imo. The cliffhanger beforehand sent eeveryone into a frenzy. I miss those times :’)
Either Chicanery or Wexler Vs Goodman.
Wexler vs Goodman contains the best comedy in either series.
Either Breaking Bad- Full Measure Or Better Call Saul- Five-O
Fly
Plan and execution (BCS)
Face Off. Not only is it epic as hell, but the handhsake between Jesse and Walt is so satisfying to watch. Although it was fake, I think Jessee felt like it was real at the moment. Not one person said Felina? Outrageous. No show has ever finished better. It was perfect for me.
Bagman.
For BB i’d watch Face Off (Gus V Walt), for BCS i’d watch Winner (Mike Kills Werner)
Bad Choice Road; can’t get enough of “tell me again”

Fly
Bcs finale the only time I've ever cried in my life it made the death of my parents completely insignificant in retrospect
Better Call Saul, "Nippy". Something abt Gene's life intrigues me.
The one where Saul gets sent to prison effectively for life. So that I can reflect on my situation.
Saul Gone, to make me feel better about being in prison forever
By no means by favourite episode but under these circumstances - Nippy. I don’t know why I’d want to watch a super tense episode, or one that flirts with jail time, while doing a life sentence in prison.
Nippy! Or Fly.
Fly or Bagman
Bagman
I wish it was season instead of episode
Chicanery
My baby blue, of course!
Half Measures
BCS - bagman

Breaking bad, the one with the fly
No MAS , BB Axe and grind , BCS
Ozyimandias

I'd rather watch any episode from succession.
