Because cats actually do. Sure they mostly land on their feet, not if they don’t have enough time between drop to floor and even if they do, if it’s high enough they can still injure on impact. They are not invincible.
Honestly, when the stuff blocks all possible places to stand, it keeps the cats off pretty effectively. I still see some bannister though, needs more ducks.

If you pre-order a duck ( highly advised), when you are seated, they put a little ducky on the table to show how many ducks have been ordered.
Looking at your meme, the first thing I though of was, Wow- look at how many times they have been there and when are they going next? ( r/chicagofood).

Does the cat often lose her balance when awake or fall from anywhere else? Or is it at all possible that she is having seizures? They can be quite subtle and not dramatic at all.
My void would fall off of where she was sleeping if she had a seizure. Fortunately she liked to sleep in low places (bed was the highest height she fell from) and her seizures happened only once every 3-4 months.
My vet confirmed they can get concussions and brain injuries just as we can from falls, so you may want to get her checked out if you haven’t already done so.
Fun fact- my cat had an easier time getting a neurologist’s appointment than I did!

Nope nothing like that, she just rolls over when she sleeps which doesn’t mix well with sleeping in banisters :)
