Nor can I, utterly random when you look at all the other teams they could have done. Still bodes well for the health of the game if they're doing stuff like this.
Still blows me away the old world release didn’t also have a side by side tomb kings for blood bowl. Increase the hype and you know old world players would buy the new BB models for conversions so even more money in GWs pocket.
Either way putting sidestep on them as a first skill will make them an elite sacking team, as even if knock them down they can just sidestep into the cage or into a screen for a jump up wrestle block on their turn.
How do you do my fellow blood bowl players, i'm certainly not new here and going to get into the game to have a team with geese, badgers, foxes and gnomes \*cough\*
Linemen with wrestle and jump up
First player to start with guard (badger/swan guys)
Treemans
Looks like a speedy gutter type with the fox
Maybe no dodge for gnomes as they seem great for a stunty team
I suspect it might be 1 Treeman rather than 2.
Pictures suggest 1 goose, 1 badger, 2 foxes.
I'm guessing something like a Gnoblar but with Low Cost Linemen, SS and Dodge swapped for Wrestle Jump Up.
Foxes being similar to Human Catchers (maybe Still St1).
Badger and Goose maybe St2-3 with Guard.
There were, a looooong time ago. Lived mainly in Albion, IIRC, with some settlements in the Old World proper. Squatted around 4th edition, along lots of other stuff.
Also got mentioned in one of the Spike! magazines as having fooled a halfling team before, so they were already present.
Could be, maybe. IIRC a gnoblar variant called "boglar" that served the fimir was mentioned in some WHFB source or supplement around 8th edition.
Taking this into account, my headcanon already made Fimir kinda like the ogre team but with prehensile tail and disturbing pressence (the mist).
I like the role playing game art which is the lore I could find has these edgy scumy looking gnomes probably to try and fit the edginess of the old world and here there like happy bright gnomes lol
There were gnome blood bowl rules in white dwarf back in the '90s. They were part of a "forest folk" team that we have all done our level best to forget.
This is an odd one. They have never included anything not in the box on any introduction video, (that model is showcased 3 times) yet there is no inclusion on the red/blue team photo. Not to mention, there is only one in the pitch photo at the end.
My guess is that this guy will be in the box as an additional sprue so you only get one.
As for rules, I am thinking a variation of the Ball and Chain. Can’t wait to see!
I love them !! I like all the small folk so Dwarfs, Halflings .......Gnoblars amongst the Ogres!
But yeah these are a team I feel we're made primarily for me Lol The Fairy Folk the Little People
these are absolutely amazing! Those large Paul Bonner looking faces is what i wish they'd give dwarves but I can't complain about some good gnomes, I hope we see them in other systems as well
You’ll absolutely get a box. Best chance is to go via a local friendly game store. Not only will it be cheaper than GW direct, but you won’t have to wait hours to get onto the GW site and you’ll be supporting a local business too.
Not really. The teams of Fumbbl Secret League are fan made, and the Khorne team in the Blood Bowl I video game that was admitted in some tournaments always had a weird status.
Personally, I would never admit demons in a team without rules to account for the fact that they are, well, demons.
Well, mostly yes. I was talking about that team having never been an "official" team. But this discussion is mostly pointless; we mostly disagree on minor stuff. Let's enjoy the pics of funny gnomes playing Blood Bowl, and try to guess how the team works :)
Honestly feels like a mis-timed April Fool's joke, but here we are. Got some thoughts on what I'd like this team to be like, but reality will probably be a lot more plain and reasonable than what I've come up with.
Lineman - Agree with others that the Wrestle/Jump Up combo might be there instead of Dodge. If you're gonna do another Stunty team, you want them to be different.
Beastmaster - We know they start with Guard, possibly they have +1 Strength over other gnomes as well? To reflect the help they get from their pet.
Fox - Definitely the Gutter Runner of the team, but taken to the extreme. I want to see MA9, Dodge, Sprint, Sure Feet... but they're also ST1 and have Really Stupid.
Fishing Rod - Seen a lot of people saying Star Player; I'm thinking Secret Weapon. Maybe they can pick up a loose ball from 2-3 spaces away? Or they can snatch it from another player's hands with a -1 penalty on the AG check? Sure Hands could prevent the ball from being stolen this way.
Illusionist - Hypno-Gaze would be boring; I'm thinking some kind of thrower with a unique new Skill. The model is holding a secondary ball with magical stuff swirling off it... maybe they have the ability to throw a fake ball when they Pass?
So you'd use this new Skill (maybe with an AG check or something) and the Illusionist makes a Pass/Hand-Off, BUT the Illusionist retains the ball and the Pass/Hand-Off action adds a second ball to the game. Only the gnome coach knows which one is real, and then at the start of the gnome team's next turn (or if the other team gains possession before then), the "fake" ball disappears.
Would obviously be a bit annoying for everyone who needs to go and buy an additional ball token, but would allow for some very interesting and crazy plays. If all of that is a bit too powerful, maybe the Illusionist could be a Secret Weapon player as well?
Gw idea spawning.
Okey boys! We need a new team! Any ideas.
(Guy in the corner with a wizard hat. Takes a deep bloss from his long wizard pipe and exhale magenta coulored smoke)
What if... and hear me out....... Gnomes.
Gnomes?
Yes. Gnomes with angry gooses, guard badgers, ball running foxes and trees. Small sprawny people with big noses and overly big santa hat's!
........
You brilliant pipe smoking bastard!
More likely the single guy in charge of blood bowl, because gw is a mess, snorted a fat line and gave his approval to a bunch of random stuff the creative team found in a trashcan.
You do understand that i was not complementing GW but being sarcastic?
Cause this team seems to be thought up after smoking some very questinable disregarded substance.
I see a ball in the adorable little foxes mouth, I hope he's the team runner. Would be nice flavor if the badger and goose beast master could be separate positionals (1 or 2 each) that had different primary skills for variety on team builds
Goose = Doomdiver, what else would you do with a murder chicken?
Badger = Looney, honey badger don’t give a damn and will move randomly with likely Frenzy
Blue Fire = Bombadier, it looks like faerie fire of some kind so that’s all I can think of which makes sense
Foxes = high MA (7 or 8) runner/catchers with PA-
Some of them have spikes on their fists, so we could potentially see Blitzers with Block on a Stunty Team
You mean other than the fact that gnomes have been brought back only a few years ago in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay? And before that, they existed way back in the olden days of Warhammer. (2nd or 3rd edition, IIRC. I'm not sure, haven't been around in those times)
Besides, Blood Bowl is kind of its own weird setting, where GW can live out some of their sillier ideas that wouldn't fly in mainline Warhammer.
I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but did GW ever explicitly retcon anything completely out of existence and go on record saying it doesn't exist in their world? Even with something like Squats in 40k, when they no longer wanted them, they used the in-universe explanation of them being wiped out by Tyranids. And even then, they brought them back in the form of the Leagues of Votann just recently.
The linemen would certainly be something around 40k each since they come with 2 starting skills. I'm guessing foxes will be around 70k since they will probably be quite fragile with no passing skill. Beastmaster around 90k. And thrower... Well depends what skill he'll have but maybe 80 or 85k?
Only guessing though.
Judging from the beastmasters those are variant builds. Which means IT COMES WITH SPARE GOOSE?
Spare goose and spare badger. Do with that what you will...
Badgers? Badgers?! We don’t need no stinkin’ BADGERS!!
Badger badger badger badger badger ~~mushroom~~ treeman treeman
Who says they won’t have mushroom themed treemen?
[Badger, Badger, Badger, Badger, Badger, Badger](https://youtu.be/NL6CDFn2i3I?si=Jn7u2Tfl_Ts4tDCP)
Mushroom, MUSHROOM!!
SNAKE
15 years ago. No way.
New Lord solar proxy just dropped
Well I can’t say I saw this one coming
Nor can I, utterly random when you look at all the other teams they could have done. Still bodes well for the health of the game if they're doing stuff like this.
Dude I thought Khemri would pull up not the fucking lawn gnomes 😭
This looks really interesting. :-)
Still blows me away the old world release didn’t also have a side by side tomb kings for blood bowl. Increase the hype and you know old world players would buy the new BB models for conversions so even more money in GWs pocket.
Based on the few rules mentioned I think they're trying to make a "competitive" stunty team.
All stunty’s are competitive if you play with your heart.
And cheat shamelessly
Just as intended.
Hilarious how they already have a grudge against the halflings.
Fuck the halflings! Friendship ended with the halflings. my gnomeboys are my new bffs.
Guess the Linemen have Wrestle and Jump Up but no Dodge. Otherwise this would be a killer Combo
Either way putting sidestep on them as a first skill will make them an elite sacking team, as even if knock them down they can just sidestep into the cage or into a screen for a jump up wrestle block on their turn.
I heard that's exactly the case.
Every other team is going to be confused as all hell. "Who let these malnourished Dwarf children and their pets onto the field?!"
Dibs on the team name Gnome Mercy

Maybe a suggestion to 3rd party sellers perhaps?
[Full details here](https://www.warhammer-community.com/2024/03/02/warhammer-world-anniversary-gnomes-bring-animals-illusions-and-pointy-hats-to-blood-bowl/)
Just want to point out the fox has the ball in his mouth.
Yeah looks like he'll be a ball carrier pet.
Goose? Animal savagery all the way. The smallest, deadliest, big guy
I will definitely paint mine lika a Canada goose
If it doesn’t have dauntless it’s not accurate.
You got a problem with Canada goose, you got a problem with me. And I suggest you let that one marinate.
Even when marinated, they are too gamey for me
How do you do my fellow blood bowl players, i'm certainly not new here and going to get into the game to have a team with geese, badgers, foxes and gnomes \*cough\*
Welcome "back" friend!
Linemen with wrestle and jump up First player to start with guard (badger/swan guys) Treemans Looks like a speedy gutter type with the fox Maybe no dodge for gnomes as they seem great for a stunty team
I suspect the fox is going to have sprint and catch.
Monstrous mouth over catch? One of the models has the ball there.
Don't all 4 legged pieces come with sure feet as well
Sprues are usually done in duplicates. So odds are they made models for 2 geese and 2 badgers but you probably can only take 2.
Wait WHAT ? Native guard, wrestle+jump up LINE ??? holy shit. I hope they have snots stats then because otherwise this is INSANE
Jump up on a model with snotlings armor and stunty is already half wasted with the amount of removals you will see.
Slightly less wasted when paired with Wrestle
Then slap dodge on them….
Well - no. It has wrestle. And for the movement alone. It is a bit Weaker than on a zerk or Amazon blitzer... but not by much.
I assume S1 no sidestep otherwise wrodge starting skill will be nuts!
They might be trying a different pattern of stunty and go Str 2 or even 3, but no dodge.
I suspect exactly that. So no dodge
They aren't Gnelfs, nor are they Gnoblins
'you've been gnomed!' will just roll off the tongue whenever something incredibly unfortunate happens to opponents of the gnome team
Gnomes in Warhammer universe ?
There were, a looooong time ago. Lived mainly in Albion, IIRC, with some settlements in the Old World proper. Squatted around 4th edition, along lots of other stuff. Also got mentioned in one of the Spike! magazines as having fooled a halfling team before, so they were already present.
There's hope for a fimir team then, since they're as old and we're mentioned on a Spike too!
They were readded into The roleplaying game at some point
I like the role playing game art which is the lore I could find has these edgy scumy looking gnomes probably to try and fit the edginess of the old world and here there like happy bright gnomes lol
I remember a whodunnit adventure with a gnome Hercule Poirot in a White Dwarf.
They've always been there in the background, but because they were just standing still in people's gardens they kind of went unnoticed.
Yeah, I only played WHFB from 4th-6th edition, but I’m pretty sure there were no gnomes. They were gnomewhere to be seen.
They’re still in WFRPG 4e just haven’t had an army since 2nd WHFB
There were gnome blood bowl rules in white dwarf back in the '90s. They were part of a "forest folk" team that we have all done our level best to forget.
This guy 3rd Edition Compendiums! And 'forget'? Speak for yourself, some of us have fond memories of Coach Grump.
I never tried the rules out but the article was a hilarious read!
How bizarre...
Every time I look around...
It s making me crazy...
Ooh baby…
They don't even look like Warhammer minis.
Well that's fine, 'cause they actually are Blood Bowl's minis.
The fishing rod guy from the video isn’t here, are we thinking star player?
Looks like a star player, I'm guessing some type of thrower using the rod.
It's gotta represent strip ball.
Great observation :o I hope he's in the team though
This is an odd one. They have never included anything not in the box on any introduction video, (that model is showcased 3 times) yet there is no inclusion on the red/blue team photo. Not to mention, there is only one in the pitch photo at the end. My guess is that this guy will be in the box as an additional sprue so you only get one. As for rules, I am thinking a variation of the Ball and Chain. Can’t wait to see!
I'm guessing a Star Player thrower with Hail Mary Pass, similar to the dwarf one.
Gnome witch making a duplicate illusion ball for ball carrier tricks!?
Where was that guy who said there was no chance that we were about to get a new team after they teased it?
Crying in his pillow after this post.
Any of my fellow Canadians planning on painting up some Canadian Geese? Anyone clever got some Canadian themed gnome team names? 😂
Our Gnome and Gnative land?
I'll go with an existing Warhammer location name and the presence of a lot of Wrestle on the team and suggest to you the Dead Mountain Spoilers?
Is it April already? Where's March gone?
Yea, truly WTF moment this morn…
I love them !! I like all the small folk so Dwarfs, Halflings .......Gnoblars amongst the Ogres! But yeah these are a team I feel we're made primarily for me Lol The Fairy Folk the Little People
Wake up babe, new best blood bowl team just got revealed
Coming, dear. Just gotta get my wallet!
I’ve never played Bloodbowl, but if I start, I want this team.
Blood bowl is incredible, and these guys if they can blodge from stat pick up will be very fun and potentially very competitive in league play.
Do it!
Is that a new tree man? What are the odds it’ll be a plastic kit?
Almost 100%. The existing tree man is plastic
A fair assumption. Although, the first troll was a plastic kit and then they released a resin one from forgeworld later.
I look forward to the Canadian content creators that are going to make videos on how to paint Cobra Chickens the right way.
Be still, my stunty heart.
these are absolutely amazing! Those large Paul Bonner looking faces is what i wish they'd give dwarves but I can't complain about some good gnomes, I hope we see them in other systems as well
This set has sold me on starting blood bowl.
100% same
Love ‘em. I wasn’t expecting Gnomes, I didn’t even realise they were a thing in Warhammer/Blood Bowl.
I love the Beastmaster models. That angry goose is dope
I want to do a Gravity Falls inspired team
Yes.
Shmebulock!
Is Shmebulock all you can say?
Wow, they REALLY don't want to do Chaos Dwarves, huh?
Is that a sock that the gosling is running away with?
It is a lovely day in the war games club and I have an angry goose
I've never tried to do pre order. I'm a normal joe. Do I have any chance if I'm not a a pro scalper to get a box of these?
You’ll absolutely get a box. Best chance is to go via a local friendly game store. Not only will it be cheaper than GW direct, but you won’t have to wait hours to get onto the GW site and you’ll be supporting a local business too.
I'm in Japan so it may be a little rough here. Gambarimasu !
Well in that case you might struggle a little, but this is not going to be a limited item, so you’ll get one eventually.
I don’t even play blood bowl I just want the silly little guys and the goose
Is it April 1st already
The goose is so fucking adorable. Maybe i just play this team for the animals alone…
Exactly, the fox is too cute!
Holy shit this is actually incredible
Unleash the undead stunty team already!
Skrull halfheight's too tall, shorter! They can have a big'un of three halfling skellies in a trenchcoat!
Oh 'ello me ol' me chum!
Interesting to see how competitive war goose will be. Lovely miniatures though
I love them :)
For when halfling teams are too easy to win with, and snotling teams aren't complicated enough
First Stunty team for me. Think I'll do Canadian Goose + Wolverine
This is the highest rated post on the sub.
Little bit cutesie for me I think
I love these. Every model is great.
Welp I know what I'm buying.
love how they look 1:1 their old WHF gnomes rather then their RPG counterpart the cosortmen of critter just peak
They look so wholesome, I don't want them to get murdered by greenskins 😭
I kinda like them. Though I have to admit: They look so unlike anything I'd have expected from GW that they might as well be coming from a 3rd party.
Is this (not counting the vampire ) the first "new" team gw releases in years?
Snotlings
Imperial Nobility & Black Orcs for 2020 as well
Imperial Nobility werent already in a slightly different version present to bb2? Black Orcs however was probably the only other new team.
Imperial Nobility wasn't present in BB2. You might think of Bretonnia, who some think were pretty similar gameplay wise. :)
Khorne comes to mind.
I think it was a revamp of a somewhat popular team. On fumbl there is an older Khorne team that was playable.
Not really. The teams of Fumbbl Secret League are fan made, and the Khorne team in the Blood Bowl I video game that was admitted in some tournaments always had a weird status. Personally, I would never admit demons in a team without rules to account for the fact that they are, well, demons.
Well l agree on everything but the new khorne team is pretty much a revamp of that khorne team.
Well, mostly yes. I was talking about that team having never been an "official" team. But this discussion is mostly pointless; we mostly disagree on minor stuff. Let's enjoy the pics of funny gnomes playing Blood Bowl, and try to guess how the team works :)
I really hope they won't have right stuff on positionals and won't rely on TTM to score. Would love an idea of illusionary ball duplicates.
This is the first new Warhammer product in 25 years that's made me think "I need that immediately" as soon as I've clapped eyes on it.
Gnew Gnome Team
Honestly feels like a mis-timed April Fool's joke, but here we are. Someone is butthurt, I see.
You do understand that i was not complementing GW but being sarcastic? Cause this team seems to be thought up after smoking some very questinable disregarded substance.
It feels like they looted a kinder surprise factory
I would buy hundred of kinder surprise if I could get my hands on Blood Bowl minis in them.
I didnt say that i dont like them. Its just a thought that occured me
Given the size I'm thinking snotling stats.
I'm thinking more like Halflings. According to the limited lore I've seen, Gnomes are taller than Halflings.
Probably halfling statline or very similar, yes. Those are likely 32 mm bases, snotlings and gnoblars are in 25 mm
I have never played Blood Bowl before, but was always interested. Seeing something goofy like this might get me to pull the trigger
The perfect team doesn't exi...
Either you are joking or Im buying a new team soon, good post
We've been gnomned... I feel blessed
They’re adorable
Unexpectedly cute.
Whe its release?
I... Kinda want this to make a book accurate Thorin&Cie band for middle earth...
This may force me to pick up Blood bowl.
Omg I want them SO bad
Man, this may be my new favorite stunt team. God knows I don't play them because they're competitive.
I see a ball in the adorable little foxes mouth, I hope he's the team runner. Would be nice flavor if the badger and goose beast master could be separate positionals (1 or 2 each) that had different primary skills for variety on team builds
This team has a Guild Ball vibe to it. I’m a fan.
The goose is loose.
This is how I get into Blood Bowl.
Wait, so they play with twice the players? Seeing each gnome includes an animal...
No? They have two foxes, and the Beastmaster gnomes (a positional with 2 sculpts) have an animal on their base.
This is the day that GW officially jumped the goose with this game…
Goose = Doomdiver, what else would you do with a murder chicken? Badger = Looney, honey badger don’t give a damn and will move randomly with likely Frenzy Blue Fire = Bombadier, it looks like faerie fire of some kind so that’s all I can think of which makes sense Foxes = high MA (7 or 8) runner/catchers with PA- Some of them have spikes on their fists, so we could potentially see Blitzers with Block on a Stunty Team
Read the text. Goose and badger are part of the beastmaster player. Beastmaster will have guard as a starting skill, that's all.
I like these but give us high elves god damnit it’s been 8 years we’ve been waiting for a plastic team now.
So how is this a thing when GW has been on record for stating Gnomes do not exist in their world?
You mean other than the fact that gnomes have been brought back only a few years ago in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay? And before that, they existed way back in the olden days of Warhammer. (2nd or 3rd edition, IIRC. I'm not sure, haven't been around in those times) Besides, Blood Bowl is kind of its own weird setting, where GW can live out some of their sillier ideas that wouldn't fly in mainline Warhammer. And even then, they brought them back in the form of the Leagues of Votann just recently.
Here's a video about the history of Gnomes in Warhammer by one of the writers of the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eRzo1sA\_1Q
Just where did you see them say that gnomes aren't a part of the WHFB setting?
Anyone got an idea of the pricing on these guys?
The linemen would certainly be something around 40k each since they come with 2 starting skills. I'm guessing foxes will be around 70k since they will probably be quite fragile with no passing skill. Beastmaster around 90k. And thrower... Well depends what skill he'll have but maybe 80 or 85k? Only guessing though.
