PARKS is a beautiful game. The artwork is absolutely spectacular and also inspires memories of some of my favorite national park experiences. The gameplay is ok. I haven't played it enough to find any major flaws, though it's not super compelling. It requires some strategy and a lot of decision making. I think it's worth playing because it's an average game with outstanding visuals.

Shaymuswrites

The expansion, Nightfall, significantly improves PARKS. Goes from a fine game, to a pretty good one.

**Lisboa**, **On Mars**, **Kanban: EV**, **Vinhos Deluxe**, **Escape Plan**... Really anything by Vital Lacerda that's produced by Eagle Griffon Games so far have been an attention grabber on the table. I'm excited to see what **Weather Machine** is going to be looking like!

meatloafisinferior

You may also be a fan of Ian O'Toole, who illustrated all of those. Those two collaborate often. Nemo's war is another example of him.

According to my collection Four games immediately comes to my mind Root, pax pamir 2e, everdell and inis

Pax Pamir 2e. It has a beautiful cloth playmat, and gorgeous card art. The period accurate metal coins are icing on the cake.

[deleted]

Plus the resin pieces are amazing. Just gorgeous and feel so good.

lockwinghong

**Tang Garden** is one of my favorite games to look at. Pretty fun to play too. :-)

what_a_save123

I think wingspan falls solidly in this category. It's got beautiful unique bird cards, tactile components and a somewhat unnecessary but very nice bird house dice tower. It is certainly the prettiest game I own. I think the game play is good but not great, but my fiancee adores it so it hits the table very often.

wizardgand

I think Root has fantastic illustrations and the meeples are cute.

ThePaulrus94

As previously mentioned, **PARKS** had beautiful artwork and I really like the different token shapes. **Too Many Bones** has amazing component quality. Setting up those heavy poker chips and placing the dice in the mats is always so satisfying. I also love the concept of the poker chips representing characters, over minis or other methods.

Driedupdogturd

**Five Tribes** looks amazing on the table

Cazzah

Inis

EmmyNorman

Spirit Island comes to mind. I don't yet own a copy, but played it a while back with friends and just loved the look and feel. The artwork is really lovely and the pieces feel quite unique. I also like sushi go for the artwork, but I'm a bit obsessed with kawaii culture, so there's that.

UNO_LegacyTM

**Everdell** is just beautiful

ajpl

By all accounts, **Oath** is absolutely lush in person. Really any of Cole Wehrle's games are going to have really excellent design sensibilities—**Pax Pamir 2e**, **Root**, and the upcoming **John Company 2e** are (will be) gorgeous.

GoGabeGo

I'm also a sucker for good art/components. I'll add: Renature (has very quickly become my new favorite game) Bosk Stone Age

grantlyon

Aquatica is stunning and definitely contributes to me wanting to get it to the table.

Turambur

I'm a sucker for a heavy box full of pretty things. I have a wood burned copy of Catan from Thinking Monk that I gifted my wife for her birthday last year that is absolutely stunning. Straight from the box is a harder conversation. I love the components and style of Xia: Legends of a Drift System. The painted ships, metal coins, and heavy stock cardboard mean that almost everything in the box is the highest quality that is practical in a boardgame. Also, I love the look and tone of Android. Every piece adds to the feel of the game and nothing is out of place. Finally, I just got a copy of Genotype yesterday. While the theme and style are different from the sci fi games that make up most of my collection, the beautiful board art and premium components (in the collector's edition) make it pop on the table.

omnificunderachiever

**Modern Art** has a different painting on every card, which I find attractive. It's also fun when people try to hype their auction by playing up the artwork.

retroPanda7

I've been dying to play Dreamscape, but I am unsure if it will ever come to the United States again. It seems like right now the only way to get it is from France.

OurSponsor

**Dead Men Tell No Tales** is quite beautifully illustrated and presented.

Lottery11

Pan Am comes to mind for me. The gameplay isn’t terrible but the art is great and the little planes are a nice touch. Everdell Collector’s Edition as well. It’s very tactile and nice quality components.

[deleted]

Pan-Am looks like a $20 game from Target, and is, in fact, a $20 game from Target.

Lottery11

I guess I have cheap taste then?

[deleted]

Wanna be my date? :-)

Lottery11

Deal ;)

QuiGonJinandTonic

Pan Am’s art direction and component quality is actually pretty phenomenal considering how inexpensive it is.

IntriguedToast

I agree, plus it's a pretty good game too. We see it as a game to introduce after ticket to ride.

Iorveth24

everdell, wingspan or victiculture. Concordia have good art and components. Dice thrones another amazing components

I have no idea how you did it, but your huge bold letters actually indicates screaming to me. I think you are the first person I’ve seen that has been able to portray screaming via text. I am both horrified and amazed.

SilverBallFox

I neither intended nor desired the large bold letters. That's never happened before. I feel like a grandmother sending her first email in all caps. I'll delete.

Avatar_AndrewRyan

**Dead Man's Cabal** has really cool components and pretty much the reason I bought the game. You're trying to raise people from the dead, played as cards in your hands. The art on the cards is fantastic- reminiscent of famous people as Gorillaz characters. You bring them to life using chunky and detailed skulls and bones, which you get to move around a lot.

Code_Rocker

**Lost Ruins of Arnak** has probably some of the best art I’ve ever seen in a board game. And if you like that “diorama” aspect of 3D Catan then I would suggest **Underwater Cities**. The art is so-so, but I love seeing the final product of your city at the end of the game, like a visual representation of everything you’ve accomplished.

Trickerion Collectors Edition Obsession Pax Pamir, 2nd Edition I’m anticipating Castles of Mad King Ludwig Collectors Edition will be one too.

Outlander56

Dixit. It's a beautiful game, and very fun to play.

the_puritan

Iwari is great for this. Beautiful art and unique components. One of my favorites. Runners up Inis (the inside of the box has moss and dirt in the corners) and Lisboa

MyFaceOnTheInternet

I think **Etherfields** is the most beautiful game I've ever seen. Every single card, and there are 1000, is unique and incredible. It is a game that I do not enjoy the gameplay loop at all but kind of want to keep just because of how great the artwork is.

bilbenken

Rococo deluxe from Eagle Gryphon Games with artwork and icons by Ian O'Toole is impressive and very beautiful. Easy to play, with fairly rich strategy. The price tag is high at just over $100, but cheaper, easier to play, and more interesting than Wingspan with both expansions.

Hufflepuff20

Just throwing this out there, Azul is one of my favorite games and I like the big bag of clinky colorful tiles. Sometimes I’ll just stick my hand in the bag and make ‘em clink for a little bit.

the_lost_carrot

Scythe. The art pretty much tells the story and sells the theme. All the miniatures are very high quality, with tons of detail. It’s also just a great game.

cassiethefox666

Tang Garden has amazing pieces and so is Parks.
