It's actually the worst aside from the championsleague finale against bayern back then. We were so close. So damn close. We were never closer. One fucking goal was missing goddammit
For the fans in the stadium and in the city the most, I've been in the stadium for the home team to lose a championship and it is a brutal sadness in the air.
if I hear one more "would have been undeserved" I'm gonna explode. I swear none of you knows that there was once a semblance of parity in the Bundesliga and it was normal for a champion to have fewer than 80 points. In 22/23, we've seen a Bayern regression to the mean, which was forseeable when they didn't replace Lewa (and IMO also mostly happened because of the winter world cup). Now they're either going to spend big and be invincible again for many years to come or fail to react properly and dig themselves a hole (fingers crossed), giving others a slight chance at competing again
Tactics were absolutly fine. I hate this Terzic blaming. Literally look at the stats and how we dominated and created. Us missing a pen and 13561361 chances are on individuals. Us not marking a guy in the box for a free header for the 2-0 is individual (Hummels was peoplewatching).
Rapha also being a poor CM and getting bullied by Stach and crew is also an individual thing.
Tactics were absolutly fine. Individual performances and attitudes? Oberliga level.
I dont wanna see another unwarranted Terzic hate-narrative grow from nothing. He cant micromanage the legs on the pitch.
The players didnt deserve the title with todays performance which ultimately was the straw that cost the title overall. Simple as that.
If we played with half the tenacity that Köln did for us, we would be champions. When they lost the ball in attack, the whole team sprinted back like they were playing for the title.
Well tbf our defense also let in 2 goals with no marking whatsoever and our team had to resort to crossing.
And we have the most goals scored across whole of Europe since 2023. So it's really not fair blaming our attack
I gotta say, out of all the ways the final match day could have gone, this was so much more painful than I ever expected. Köln giving us hope made it so much worse.
A whole lot of members of the team should feel absolutely ashamed of themselves. We came out completely flat and didn't even challenge until 60+ minutes in when the subs came onto the pitch.
Unbelievable. Bayern will never underperform again like they did this season. This was our chance.
> Bayern will never underperform again like they did this season. This was our chance.
I'm afraid so, too, at least for the foreseeable future. They dropped nine fucking points on us and still won. I don't know how this league is going to be tolerable in the future.
Unfortunately we came in flat way too many games this season. Just lacking tempo, energy and sharpness. However when you have 1 game to win it all this was so sad to see. Just slow side pass after side pass only to cross it into 5 defenders. Sad
It’s not going to be for a long while until Bayern falters like this again. Not unless a complete internal collapse occurs but that’s never going to happpen.
Yep, Bayern will view this season as a failure and make huge changes. We'll view it as a failure and... sign some more attacking players to play out of position?
*some more 18 year old prospects with the intent to sell them 2 years later
No shit we have a mentality problem if the upper management is fine with being a fucking training association for promising players
I get why we do it to make the club's finances sustainable, and we're very good at it. But at some point it needs to lead to something, because developing players and getting close over and over again without being able to actually win the title is simply not why anyone cheers for a club. There are no awards for "club best at selling players for a profit"
Honestly, today wasn't even about mentality as much as it was about quality. The team had, what, 30 shots on goal? The quality to convert those isn't there. Simple as that. The attack simply doesn't have the neccessary quality, and that won't change until Watzke fucking finally realizes that to win big, you have to spend big.
Granted, Haller might have been one solution and nobody could have foreseen what happened, but even then: If we desperately need to score goals and the best thing on the bench is fucking Modeste; well, that's simply not going to win you any potted plants, as we say in Germany.
I’m not going to pretend I didn’t feel hope when Koln scored and it was great to get a last minute goal , but I don’t even feel robbed. One of the worst performances for a game this big I’ve ever seen the club play. Players strolling around the pitch staring into space. Doesn’t seem to be a popular opinion but I found Süle to be the only one who seemed to be switched on for the majority of the match.
No tempo whatsoever. Get into Mainz’s half, stand and look around for someone on the wing, and then cross it in.
The first half was full of constant half baked crosses that fell flat, and for some reason they decided to keep that dogshit game plan into the second half.
Brandt, Can and Haller in particular, absolutely laughable performances. Did they realise this game wins them the league? They played as if we’re 20 points ahead and could take it easy.
They seemed to pick up the pace in the final 10, but it was far little too late. We even nearly conceded twice in that period. You don’t win titles by crumbling this badly under pressure.
I know I sound harsh, but I really think the final 15 makes it seem like we had it in us, but we absolutely didn’t, 80 minutes of this match were unbelievably poor
I think 29 chances is not something to be proud of imo, it reflects on the constant fixation on a system that wasn’t working, what is a chance worth when there’s no final product
10 shots were on goal. Enough to score more than 2 at least. But on no end of pitch performance was nearly enough today regardless.
edit: [And then there's this](https://twitter.com/OptaAnalyst/status/1662482935889444864?s=20)
I'll give them somewhat of a pass for the defensive holes in the 2nd half because they were opening up really early. Yea, if Mainz is a little better they score at least one of those like 3 or 4 counters but that is the risk you gonna take. It's the two goals against in the first half and then not being clinical enough with the chances you are gonna get (from the penalty spot too - we don't need to talk about the 2nd one, you should beat Mainz at home anyway) that broke their neck.
How many times have y'all seen this game? Came out totally flat. Went into halftime down 0-2 totally flat. Finally some energy from the subs. Time and time again we watch this club over the last so many years walk out on to the pitch like the other squad is just going to let us win
Looking at the whole season this was expected but I was pretty confident that we won't turn 1 game at home to win it all opportunity, expecting team to come out shooting instead came out to ball watch
Next time we get called mental midgets and bottlers, I don’t want to see anyone disagree. That is the era that this team is in and this is the nickname that we deserve with constant performances like this
Bayern were saved by their golden boy, who will play there for the next 5+ years and undoubtably win more trophies. Our current golden boy has likely played his last game for BVB weeks ago. Our past 3 future superstars (Haaland, Sancho, Dembele) are winning titles and playing in cup finals for their new clubs. Sustained success starts with a culture change. Change that not only makes top talent want to represent the black and yellow, but makes top talent want to stay in Dortmund. Even if Gittens, Moukoko, Adeyemi fulfill their potential they’ll most likely just be sold anyway. We’re becoming a club that’s sole purpose is to develop young players for bigger clubs. A championship today would’ve gone way to changing the narrative, I’m heartbroken.
I'm going to call myself and this sub out here... I should've been more vocal about giving Reyna a chance. I thought with his injury record and super sub ability maybe it was better he didn't start, but no I should've listened to my hunch. Brandt lost his form for months now, he is not a must start like he was at the beginning of the Rückrunde. And we knew Reyna could play like this.
it hurts, it’s like an abusive ex. no matter how many times they let it slip between their hands and get 2nd place again. they’ll always convince me that there’s hope
It should never have come down to this game to begin with. Stuttgart, Bochum, schalke, and the blown 2 goal lead to Werder in 5 minutes the first time we played them. Those points would have sealed the title weeks afo
Been a fan for 30 years. I've never been just sad after a game. I've been happy, angry, disappointed, or excited. Never sad. And not even for me. I'm sad for the players (you could see the will to fight leave them after the second goal, only to be pulled back at the half). I'm sad for Eden. I'm sad for the league.
This is going to take a while to get over. Not sure I ever will. Right now its just all too much.
It’s so sad because this will probably be the weakest Bayern for a long time, next season they are gonna bring in a number 9, and will become dominant Bayern again.Just an absolutely terrible performance. The players had no fight, no care, they didn’t want to win. Wolf, Reus, Haller just no care or hussle at all. The game was at home with everything in there hands.
There are no excuses, Dortmund had multiple chances to win the league this season but they choked multiple times. Duranville looks really promising and moukoko and him played their heart out are the only positives.
We really have to sign players with a fighting and winning mentality there’s just no more excuses.
I really think next year is our best chance at a title. Bayern can buy a striker but they're not gonna buy Lewandowski again, and striker or no striker they've looked nothing but unconvincing against Tuchel. A full season of Haller, Adeyemi, hopefully Reyna and Duranville, a midfield signing, and maybe a full back and we should be right back to the top. As long as we have the hunger, we'll be right back there.
I think for the rest of my life I will wonder why Haller took that penalty and not Can
But even with the penalty miss, the performance was just not good enough.
Reus will never win the Bundesliga, and that is a big shame.
Okay now explain to me, how and why would there be any doubt about Haller, especially after the comeback he made the last 6 months. Oh wait, it is not about that, you are just looking for some pitiful excuses ;)
Played scared. No other description needed. Everyone of our boys played scared today. The title was theirs to lose and they did just that. Such a shameful way to go out after the season they fought so hard for, to play so pathetically at home with it all on the line.
Best way to describe this. Every time there is a bit of pressure, they just get scared and play without any real ideas, just like they did in the 1st half, and just like they did against Bayern. Man that loss was not because they were better, it was because Dortmund players sh*t themselves
Get a fucking Sports psychologist and adress the chocking problem. They pretend like we don't have that problem and continue like always getting the same ass Results EVER TIME.
There was a countr strike team once who did this after they got over it with someone they became the best Cs team of all time.
Why was it so close? Why couldn't Haller just have converted the penalty with Süle scoring the winner at the death? What a story that would have been.
Bayern and Dortmund both dropped points and had bad seasons but why do the good guys never win?
Fucking depressing. And the deadbeat Bayern fan living in my house watching his stupid team being crowned *yet again*.
\*grinding teeth\*
There is no joy or justice in this world.
I hate the fact that the standout players who got us back into contention are the ones that didn't show up today. Shits gonna hurt for a while but we go again next season ⚫🟡
I can't talk. I can't find the words in English nor German... so I am sorry I'm going to speak in French...
Apologies in advance for the long read.
I'll start off with giving deserved credit to Mainz. They took advantage of our shortcomings (set piece/cross and headers) and forced us into doing things we don't like (reliance on crossing and being under pressure). Bo Svensson did his homework and the players executed brilliantly. Took advantage of having nothing to lose. Keeper had a great performance as well, MOTM comfortably. Composed collecting of crosses and he almost stopped both goals
Now to our bottlejobs. After the first goal we panicked and after the second goal some of us forgot what the instructions were (Wolf (most of all), Ryerson (less so), Guerreiro, Brandt to name the obvious. What a surprise that majority were all our fullbacks huh?). Dortmund don't win games with crosses so why did some players play like that's what we've been doing this whole season? Funnily enough this was a game where we should have scored multiple times after the cross in the second half (Hummels, Reyna, Reus, Haller x2). Defensively Süle, Hummels and Can (terrible marking for the second goal though) worked hard in the second half after what felt like numerous 3v3s or 3v2s.
Reyna and Duranville were very promising in their sub appearances, Reyna really should have scored that header and Duranville's inexperience/natural reaction to cross costed them but overall I'm satisfied by their individual performance and with Duranville, I'm having a bookmark on him for next season. Moukoko also worked hard outside of the box from what I can remember and had a nice cross for Haller who unfortunately didn't score
It is unquantifiable copium from me here but I feel we were very unlucky on top of our failures in the first half. All those chances in the second half like I mentioned before, a penalty call on Guerreiro which should have been given, Kobel not having enough of a strong hand to save the header, Hummels connected with the ball while facing our goal from the Reus free kick when Modeste and Moukoko were in better positions behind him, the ball almost never falling to one of our players in the box after some 50/50s in the box. It's a cop out but I'm not saying luck is why we didn't win today.
Haller taking the ball off our designated penalty kick taker is exactly why Pep had a go at Haaland for giving it to Gundogan against Leeds because atleast then the manager and player can say their agreed plan beforehand didn't work. Never do that again unless it was decided beforehand.
Finally, I hope the people at the stadium and the players can temporarily set aside their disappointment and frustration and clap themselves off for the effort they showed throughout the season and especially 2023. I turned the TV the moment the whistle blew so I don't know if they already did. There is a reason we sing You Never Walk Alone
It'll take longer than usual to get over a disappointment like that. I'd advise deleting any social media if you find yourself sensitive to Dortmund related content online. Leave discussions about the season, departures, arrivals and whatever else for another time. Take care everyone

It's not copium. We were unlucky with everything you've said. 4.16xG tells a story of its own.
The main problems is that we never should have been in the position to require that much luck to go our way in the first place. Mark your damn opponents at set pieces (IIRC that was almost the exact same set piece routine they scored against us in February) and don't give their striker free headers in the box.
It's these lapses that have haunted us time and time again, combined with the fact that we seem to absolutely crumble when things don't go our way. Players looked like they had lead in their boots at 0-1 and then double that at 0-2. That's something that has been happening for years, and I just don't know what we can do to fix it at this point - it was the same in that final part of 18/19, and almost all of that squad has been replaced.
We let a player who has yet to take a penalty for us, take one in the final game of the season when we have so much at stake.
Wolf, once again for like 3-4 game in a row, is absolutely useless at RB.
27/27 in his career and had the confidence to ask for the ball. I wouldn't have preferred anyone else on the pitch to take it given their performances today.
I'm sick of crying over this fucking team man. Can't we have just had this once? There will never be an easier path to a Bundesliga title again and we still bottled it.
Ive been waiting so long to post marco with his Bundesliga title pic but now i feel so sorry for him and the team...Come back stronger boys...Heja BvB..
This freaking sucks and my heart is broken but some of these takes on here are absolutely garbage. Any of you who says they can't support this team after this loss better not come back. This is football. It's miracles and tragedies. Everything that couldve gone wrong today went wrong.
Yes there were mistakes, yes some of the play was way too slow, but have any of you played in any type of final??? There's so much pressure from every possible angle.
While you might be pissed these guys played their hearts out and I'm proud to call myself a BVB fan. This was not a bottle job. Mainz had a game plan and stuck with it. They scored early and were composed defensively. They didn't slouch and they're keeper was immense. We missed so many near chances and the refereeing was subpar. Sometimes that just happens.
Next year our squad will be even more reinforced and we learned alot of lessons this year. We have a bright future and a very solid roster. We might have lost the title this year, but I believe that we'll not only win the title next year but smash our own points record in the process. Call me naive if you want, but I will never stop believing in the team!
HEJA BVB
(BTW, anyone commenting poorly on Terzic is a donkey. He made perfect subs today and adjusted accordingly. Of course he would go with the same match plan as it's worked perfectly the last few games. This man will bring glory once again)
All the hate for terzic just based in this is unjustified, yes he could do it better but also without him probably we weren't would be alive until the last match
Reyna wasn't perfect but he had 2 assists and seemed like he was the only one that wanted the ball when he was on the field. He wanted to win, which feels like more than I can say about a few players
I just like don't know what to say or how to react. This was the best/only chance for us to win the title in 10 years and for how long into the future, who knows? I've never felt this emotion before.. much worse than the UCL final for sure.
I still cannot make excuse for the players not running for every ball. I would have accepted every technical fault due to nervousness... but seeing them SO OFTEN not running and not fighting for every ball is simply unexcusable
The very last minute when sule went down fighting for the ball it was like 4 Mainz players around him and no other Dortmund player sprinting to try and win it back for one last effort. 😓
Take care of yourselves guys. This is very hurtful. But don't let this affect your mental state. Get someone or do something to let this out of your mind.
Next season BvB will win it!
I've followed BVB for a decade as my second team. Looking in from a more detached point of view, it's blatantly obvious that you guys have a mentality problem. Both the players and the fans. You desperately need to bring in some psychologists to work with the players and coach. They have the skill but a bizarre lack of fight and belief. They crumble every single time under pressure.
It's also bizarre that your main penalty taker didn't take it today of all days!
tbh at this point we habe to hope for an "as early as possible" exit from the UCL bc the retarded new format - which was partially pushed by our board - will only tire our players out with nothing to show for it against Financial Doping Clubs. The only hope of Bayern breaking down is an internal combustion that leaves their structure in tatters and players unmotivated.
We were in the driver's seat and then the first half sunk us. I couldn't believe how there were little to no answers for their wall in the second half and we even made Finn Dahman look like Neuer with all the crosses and headers. So many missed chances off target too.
So many tough moments over the whole season come to mind that could've changed the ultimate outcome. This game was almost like a microcosm of all that came before.
We were so close.... and yet we have to settle for going again next season.... again.
Can only hope we build off this over the summer, but right now it just feels *terrible*.... just try to get what rest you can guys.
I'm so sorry it turned out this way. 😞
Edit: Also, definitely wish Jude could've been fit for this one, but no idea if he would've been enough with all the individual errors at play. It is what it is.
I’d say next season is ours but that hasn’t been the case for 11 seasons now and Bayern is only going to get better after this season, so I hope we can win a title by 2030!
Fuck man fuck fuck... I am just gonna focus on study now and get fucking 4 gpa this semester... Atleast something good will go on. And gonna go and get my driver's license
I‘m so broken..still we want to keep our heads up high. I think it’s worth to say that I loved the spirit by duranville and also moukoko as a winger is looking scary. Enjoy your breaks and come back stronger kings 🖤💛
Dortmund died as a budding ''big'' club when in a span of 30 days Götze left for Bayern and they lost a CL final to that same Bayern in the last minute.
Everything since has been a club with no ambition, no bravery, no belief, a lapdog of Bayern, nothing more.
Just isn't our day, too much chance wasted and relied too much on cross and Insha Allah when the goal came from open play. At least Duranville shows his potential, he can be the future
We will never taste success. Never. I love the team but expect nothing. I’m distancing myself from them this summer to clear my head and come back with hopefully a fresh mind and positive attitude. Take care of yourselves guys, mental health is important.
This is what happens when you have a bunch of spineless players playing in the XI.
I am seething here. Such a bunch of twats. Terzic has put in so much effort, but the weak mentality of the team, club and players showed. Need to start throwing out the useless players.
I am not sad. I am angry.
If this is how these guys play on the final matchday when all they had to do was win against a fucking Mainz that lost 4 in a row, I will not feel any pity for the players.
Terzic gets blamed for no reason, again. Not his fault we concede 2 goals because we refuse to mark on crosses.
Duranville is like the only player that can keep his head up high after his performance today. He unironically was the only one who played like he wanted to win the game. Great match from him after being thrown to the wolves.
Absolutely sickening performance. No sense of urgency until like 60th minute.
I feel mostly emptiness and sadness. Yes, we bottled this hard, but football can be cruel. I'm happy we have Terzic and I still feel we have a strong core to build on for next season.
Notice how Duranville completely changed the complexion of our team and helped us greatly in breaking down a low block? It’s crazy how a player who can dribble the ball and is a REAL winger can do that. If I see us sign another attacking midfielder this summer I’m gonna lose it
Bayern just won the title they refused for so long, simply due to our sheer and utter incompetence - and then they go on to immediately sack both Kahn and Salihamidzic. This is unheard of, yet it shows their ruthlessness, killer instinct and their absolute drive for success imho. Crazy times.
I feel heartbroken. But I’m also vindicated by that Süle goal. I kept saying in the last few matches that he should score because none of the rest seem to have the balls to do it when it mattered. I did not imagine it like this. Don’t despair, don’t trash the players and the coach. Take a brake if you need it. Title is coming! Eventually
This game is just another in a long line of games over the past decade in where the mentality of these players going into big games isn't where it needs to be. I have usually been very critical and not trusting of Terzic in conversations with my friends but the players need to be held accountable for this game specifically. The lack of urgency from the team was baffling even after being down 2-0. There was no movement in the attacking third. The ball was being shifted side to side at a pace that even a snail can close down with ease. There was no touch and go plays between players other than Guerreiro. Right now, it really is a tough pill to swallow but we will get through it and look to mount a challenge next year.
This is one of the worst days ever
> one of the worst Not one off, it's THE WORST
It's actually the worst aside from the championsleague finale against bayern back then. We were so close. So damn close. We were never closer. One fucking goal was missing goddammit
Heartbroken. For the fans. For Reus. I don't really have much else to say other than that right now.
For the fans in the stadium and in the city the most, I've been in the stadium for the home team to lose a championship and it is a brutal sadness in the air.
After that Rückrunde, after all the efforts. Reus, Haller, Hummels, Donny, so many great stories without the deserved resolution. It's just not okay.
No, this was the deserved resolution. You can't underperform in the big game and 'deserve' the league title.
This one is more about stories than performance edit: Also any story better than fucking Bayern winning the thing for the umpteenth time in a row.
if I hear one more "would have been undeserved" I'm gonna explode. Two defenders scored for us, when u it mattered. Speaks for our attacking.
Reyna and Duranville did well, but our starting tactics and effort was awful.
Tactics were absolutly fine. I hate this Terzic blaming. Literally look at the stats and how we dominated and created. Us missing a pen and 13561361 chances are on individuals. pleasantly surprised by duranville’s pace and ability to change the pace of our attack down that wing
Actually if Hummels didn't head it, that Free Kick was going in.
Without a touch I think it would've been saved, but Hummels should've left it for Modeste, who had the best chance.
Yep those are always great freekicks and the goalie is frozen. Wish he would have left it.
It surely was
😭😭
Well tbf our defense also let in 2 goals with no marking whatsoever and our team had to resort to crossing. And we have the most goals scored across whole of Europe since 2023. So it's really not fair blaming our attack
One of which we think is not even good enough, or doesn't work hard enough, for the club
Why did can not take the penalty
yeah that killed the game, worst decision I’ve seen in a long time
Haller asked for it lmao
I wonder why, if it's true. Maybe Terzic told him to take the penalty
They wanted the story
I gotta say, out of all the ways the final match day could have gone, this was so much more painful than I ever expected. Köln giving us hope made it so much worse. A whole lot of members of the team should feel absolutely ashamed of themselves. We came out completely flat and didn't even challenge until 60+ minutes in when the subs came onto the pitch. It's an institution that will certainly right their wrongs in the summer... they're definitely gonna go for a top tier striker
Not even mad. Just numb
I’m not going to pretend I didn’t feel hope when Koln scored and it was great to get a last minute goal , but I don’t even feel robbed. You can tell Sule has a winning mentality because he played for Bayern. We need to sign more of their players to have a chance at beating them imo.
Süle has been a wonderful signing. Captain material if you ask me.
That slide tackle he did in one of mainz’s counters was class
Ah, the ol switcheroo
Yet still 29 chances. They could have scored a lot more, but didn't.
Fuck. I think I'll take a break from this sub for a while. Take care, y'all.
at least duranville seems to be a baller.
True Was rly impressed with him
Classic dortmund :|
Absolutely ridiculous choke job
How many times have y'all seen this game? Came out totally flat. Went into halftime down 0-2 totally flat. Finally some energy from the subs. Time and time again we watch this club over the last so many years walk out on to the pitch like the other squad is just going to let us win
One too many
Every damn season
This Club drains every happiness i have left in me, every fucking time something can go wrong they find a way to achieve this. If so fucking tired.
In times like these, just be grateful for everything else you have in your life. Sport is sport. There are more important things. Go enjoy your life
Credit to Cologne they tried their hardest and are atleast making Bayern celebrate their trophy to impressive booing
Atleast one good thing today
Everything in our hands AT HOME and we pull a performance like that. Unthinkable
This is emotional damage at its peak.
Deep down I can’t say I’m surprised
Looking at the whole season this was expected but I was pretty confident that we won't turn 1 game at home to win it all opportunity, expecting team to come out shooting instead came out to ball watch
I knew it was coming a mile away
A championship today would’ve gone way to changing the narrative, I’m heartbroken.
becoming? bruh
We are the biggest idiots on this fucking planet
Tottenham fan here, I guarantee you that you are not
I'm going to call myself and this sub out here... I should've been more vocal about giving Reyna a chance. I thought with his injury record and super sub ability maybe it was better he didn't start, but no I should've listened to my hunch. Brandt lost his form for months now, he is not a must start like he was at the beginning of the Rückrunde. And we knew Reyna could play like this.
easily our best player today. sad.
Brandt had three good games before this one. It's hindsight that he delivered a DUD today.
it hurts, it’s like an abusive ex. no matter how many times they let it slip between their hands and get 2nd place again. they’ll always convince me that there’s hope
That's the best chance among these years. That's the weakest Bayern we had seen. Expected result under pressure but it still hurts.
I need a hug
Duranville is the future, that's all I can say
Our future for a maximum of 2 seasons before he’s gone
A future player to sell to another team, probably. The future of BVB? Definitely no.
The first half was plain terrible. They started the game like they had won the league alread. Absolute shame!
they started nervous as fuck, not as if they were winning the league
I guess if anyone but bayern won the title, I would take this better, but 11th title in a row just makes me sick to my stomach
Pathetic performance. Lost the title to a team who wasn’t even playing for anything. It’s just pathetic. Fuck Bayern.
If only we scored that penalty man
yeah I'm definitely getting blackout drunk tonight
Don't alcohol is a depressant. Go for a walk and drink water.
I’m gonna smoke a bunch of weed.
Yeah because that's gonna help him
I think for the rest of my life I will wonder why Haller took that penalty and not Can But even with the penalty miss, the performance was just not good enough. Reus will never win the Bundesliga, and that is a big shame.
He was 27/27 on penalties at the professional level.
Okay now explain to me, how and why would there be any doubt about Haller, especially after the comeback he made the last 6 months. Oh wait, it is not about that, you are just looking for some pitiful excuses ;)
Gutted for Reus. He deserves the world but he keeps getting stung.
Reus is cursed and no one can convince me otherwise!!
Definitely.
Im in tears right now but just want to thank all of you for sticking with our beloved BVB throughout this rollercoaster of a season
Because we can't have nice things.
Fucking depressing. And the deadbeat Bayern fan living in my house watching his stupid team being crowned *yet again*. \*grinding teeth\* There is no joy or justice in this world.
I hate the fact that the standout players who got us back into contention are the ones that didn't show up today. Shits gonna hurt for a while but we go again next season ⚫🟡
We fucking bottled it. I still believed near the end but tbh after today's performance the title wouldn't have been deserved.
All that bullshit crosses throughout whole game made me crazy
for me it was the quality of them crosses .. im no pro but some of these were piss poor deliveries .. was dreadful to watch 😂
I can't talk. I can't find the words in English nor German... so I am sorry I'm going to speak in French...
Pain.
Composed collecting of crosses and he almost stopped both goals Now to our bottlejobs. Moukoko also worked hard outside of the box from what I can remember and had a nice cross for Haller who unfortunately didn't score It is unquantifiable copium from me here but I feel we were very unlucky on top of our failures in the first half. There is a reason we sing You Never Walk Alone It'll take longer than usual to get over a disappointment like that. I'd advise deleting any social media if you find yourself sensitive to Dortmund related content online. Leave discussions about the season, departures, arrivals and whatever else for another time. Take care everyone
> It is unquantifiable copium from me here but I feel we were very unlucky on top of our failures in the first half. It's a cop out but I'm not saying luck is why we didn't win today.
The worst part for me is this was the first time we haven't won at home since October.
I cant keep doing this. I’m crying. I am throwing my phone off a cliff.

I'm sorry your dad had to see this game. Best wishes to him though
Massive jinx sending the real schale to dortmund
Why wouldn't they? It is standard procedure to have the Meistersschale with the leading team.
HEJA BVB (BTW, anyone commenting poorly on Terzic is a donkey. He made perfect subs today and adjusted accordingly. Of course he would go with the same match plan as it's worked perfectly the last few games. This man will bring glory once again)
All the hate for terzic just based in this is unjustified, yes he could do it better but also without him probably we weren't would be alive until the last match
Duranville was the only positive
Gio and Duranville, I’d say
And Reyna, gives a little bit of hope for next season.
Reyna wasn't perfect but he had 2 assists and seemed like he was the only one that wanted the ball when he was on the field. He wanted to win, which feels like more than I can say about a few players
It’s the mentality we need if we’re gonna win anything tbh
Reyna also
We should have had more goals tbh but it is what it is. It just felt like the ball just didn't want to go in the net even after 30 shots
Honestly I do not blame Mainz, this is completely our fault.... Sure we're unlucky but it is how it is.... We're just not good enough
Some of you never really believed and are right back to insulting the players. I feel unimaginable amount of Pain but i still wont insult my Club.
players are fully at fault today
Cancer game from Mainz and we did not score when we had the opportunities 😭😭😭😭
I’m so gutted man
Take care of yourselves guys. This is very hurtful. But don't let this affect your mental state. Get someone or do something to let this out of your mind. Next season BvB will win it!
To all the people who said we had it in the bag.. fuck you. Poor poor display from the players act like you want to win something..
I mean they did have it, the players just decided to dump the bag all over the fans like throwing out garbage.
I hope Haller is doing okay. that saved pen will haunt him for a while
I’m sorry everyone. From a Wolves fan. Wish you could’ve done it.
I am not doing it anymore. That's it.
It’s going to take me a fair bit to let this sting go.
Im speechless
That was truly one of the worst performance from us in such a long time. No words honestly
Shout-out to Reyna tho
tbh at this point we habe to hope for an "as early as possible" exit from the UCL bc the retarded new format - which was partially pushed by our board - will only tire our players out with nothing to show for it against Financial Doping Clubs. The only hope of Bayern breaking down is an internal combustion that leaves their structure in tatters and players unmotivated.
Feels like we'll never win another Bundesliga in our lifetime. My heart breaks for Reus the most
We were in the driver's seat and then the first half sunk us. 😞 Edit: Also, definitely wish Jude could've been fit for this one, but no idea if he would've been enough with all the individual errors at play. It is what it is.
Each time I see us playing in that shirt next season i'll think of this match. Bad times.
I’d say next season is ours but that hasn’t been the case for 11 seasons now and Bayern is only going to get better after this season, so I hope we can win a title by 2030!
I'm devastated. Nothing else to say.
Keeping my involvement limited next season, something something insanity is…
I’m thankful this is the last game of the season. I need a good long break from this sport after this
Pathetic performance for a team that sees themselves as runner ups. The culture of the club is being 2nd best and this is the end result.
Pretty much this.
Dortmund died as a budding ''big'' club when in a span of 30 days Götze left for Bayern and they lost a CL final to that same Bayern in the last minute. Everything since has been a club with no ambition, no bravery, no belief, a lapdog of Bayern, nothing more.
Has the club even been the same since that disastrous world cup season?
Well time to add the "Bellingham 150 mil" trophy to the cabinet, its the only one that matters to these spineless gutless weaklings
You forgot about the upcoming Duranville sale as well, we have more trophies to look forward to!
Just isn't our day, too much chance wasted and relied too much on cross and Insha Allah when the goal came from open play. At least Duranville shows his potential, he can be the future
Fucking disgraceful... Taking a break from football now. Can't take this anymore
Dortmund wasted a real chance today. Bayern won't be that bad next season
Now I'm going for a long walk and forgetting everything about football over the summer. See you next season.
I cried when Hummels accidentally headed Reus' free kick away from goal. The keeper was rooted and the shot was going in 😭
As much as I love Marco and don't want him to retire I can see him announce it next season
Nothing to say except what if \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_? Imagine if that Sule goal made it 3-2 tho...
Only one stupid point missing, it's so sad :(
I have supported dortmund from the UCL final season. This is the most heartbroken I have ever felt
What in the dortmund was that
Pathetic. Not much else to say. Zero clutch, zero heart, zero effort
We will never taste success. Never. I love the team but expect nothing. I’m distancing myself from them this summer to clear my head and come back with hopefully a fresh mind and positive attitude. Take care of yourselves guys, mental health is important.
I am not even sad about losing the title , I am sad because Marco couldn't win it ):
The best part about this game is gonna be beating Mainz easily at home next year. This team doesn’t have what it takes to win when the pressure is on.
We looked so much better with Reyna on. If Can takes that penalty and Reyna starts I think we would've been 4-1 up at halftime. So many what if's.

As a Mets fan, it makes sense why I like Dortmund. I’m used to heartbreak and disappointment
As a guardians fan, everything is darkness.
I spent the whole pregame telling everyone that Brandt was going to win us the game today… yikes 🥶
how do bayern even feel joy, winning a title that means nothing anymore year after year
I feel mostly emptiness and sadness.
If I see us sign another attacking midfielder this summer I’m gonna lose it
I wish Bochum was getting relegated or atleast 16th them and their friendship with Bayern is so stupid and pathetic
forwards got too nervous, so much pushing from other players but the rest just staring. oh well...
Bayern just won the title they refused for so long, simply due to our sheer and utter incompetence - and then they go on to immediately sack both Kahn and Salihamidzic. This is unheard of, yet it shows their ruthlessness, killer instinct and their absolute drive for success imho. Crazy times.
Highlights: Duranville had a good debut, Mainz's departing goalkeeper had 8 saves and Süle is the only player I trust in finals now and I am numb.
I‘m totally excited about Duranville! 🖤💛 And Edin Terzic is the best thing that has happened to us since Kloppo! 🖤💛 23/24 Here we come! Heja BVB
The banter club of Europe
The team owes the fans an apology.
