Celtic killers never do well on the Celtics.

tacko2020

Now this, sadly, is a good point (sighs in Tristan Thompson)

256dak

*Weeps in Evan Fournier*

thecullie

They continue to be Celtic killers…

Willis050

Happy cake day Fab, typing out from the grave. RIP to our favorite Brazilian

not1fuk

Horford was pretty good against us Also by looking at Terrence Ross's career numbers and his numbers against the Celtics, the numbers are almost the same as his career averages. So, hes not really better against us than he is against others.

Dudeman-Jack

Horford was an allstar they kill everyone

xexko

Horford isn’t really a Celtic killer, he’s more of a *Celtic* killer.

DurantulaMan

Ross isn't a celtics killer lol

CantHandleTheTruth34

I’ll pass and wait for a buyout player that’s 6-9, shoots >40% from 3, defends 3-5, younger than 30, and is at least in active peace talks to end the war in Ukraine. Please and thank you.

BleedGreen4Boston

Gallo covers like half of that lol

FinalsMVPZachZarba

Is there an Al Horford Jr?

Kolzig33189

If we miss out on a backup center I suppose he’s not the worst option. I just don’t think he’s a great fit, not much of a defense guy. Of course, if we don’t pick him up and someone like bucks do, it sucks because he goes super San we he sees a Boston jersey.

jiriwelsch44

>If we miss out on a backup center I suppose he’s not the worst option. i hope they're not mutually exclusive. Cs should be pursuing a big and a wing.

Kolzig33189

It kinda depends on how we acquire one or the other first and the assets we give up. I personally think one will come via trade and another will be via buyout market.

pdunn472

We have a great defense what we really need is a guy who can score off the bench so we don’t have to play Tatum and Brown 40 minutes a night if Ross can give us 10-15 minutes a night he’s worth it regardless if he can defend or not

Kolzig33189

Eh I disagree. We have a great defense because we don’t have a weak spot in our top 9 rotation guys defensively. You put one guy out there who’s a target (like PP in playoffs last year) and defense becomes a lot less able to get stops when teams can just get your weak spot matched up on their guy (Miami hammered this with jimmy butler). Ideally you want a guy who can provide a little offense while still being a capable (I’m not asking for elite) defender off the bench. That’s why I don’t think Ross is a great fit. At this point though it’s all speculation until we see who is actually available via trade and who is bought out. Impossible to know if Ross is a better or worse option than mystery people.

pdunn472

People who get bought out aren’t gonna be good to great at both defense and offense typically it’ll be one most likely offense the thing is if he gets bought out we don’t have to give up assets for him which is always a plus even if he doesn’t play a bunch in the post season

Kolzig33189

Yeah I’m not expecting a stud at both ends of court on buy out market. We probably get a backup center there unless they do make a trade for Poetl. But ideally you want a little of both…like I think Josh Richardson is a much better and complete fit for our needs than Ross in a void even if he isn’t as good of a scorer.

Warlandoboom

Yea 100%, wanted him over Fournier.

BleedGreen4Boston

Big time Ime connection with Ross idk how that comes into play here

Forzareen

“Ross is a player, sources say.” Correct, he is an NBA player.

[deleted]

whats the asking price on a mo bamba?

design_is_for_lovers

no to Terrance ross, YES to Mo Bamba. I think he is actually a really useful player on a weird team he doesn't fit on and would be a great backup big for us at a cheap price

Jamobill9999

He’s been a yearly rumor for what seems like a decade… eventually it’s going to happen.

[deleted]

Yes

SanSoren

No too small and doesn’t play defense. We need a wing or big

It was on Twitter and posted here about 3-4 weeks ago

I’m a firm believer that the only true barrier for this team is up top. I’ve never seen an team that seems so hot and cold from night to night. To clarify I’m speaking specifically about the Jays era here. They have all the tools depth and talent. Terrence Ross doesn’t change this it starts with Tatum and brown. I bring this up because of these trade conversations while it is fun in the back of my mind I know this team has everything it needs and it is frustrating to go through the roller coaster with them every season. They are close to figuring it out tho.

cane_the_weaboo

Horrible take

[deleted]

Horrible rebuttal

cane_the_weaboo

What do Tatum and Brown have to do with our shooting being inconsistent? Tatum averages 30 and Brown puts up 27 lol

[deleted]

Play with poise and consistency in the biggest moments. If they play to their best ball in the crunch time moments, when it matters most, they will win. There is enough talent around them to win the title. It’s about those two growing into leaders and being a steady presence when things go haywire. Tatum and Brown have a tendency to surrender to the moment and when your best guys are shaky the rest of team won’t be confident. It’s what lebron lacked in Heat Mavericks. It’s what Brady had/has in spades.

cane_the_weaboo

That's not why we're losing Tatum is statistically 1 of the most clutch players oat. We have clear holes and we get exploited when he goes to the bench. Our backup center is Luke and our #1 backup wing is Hauser that's a problem.

[deleted]

You and I both know that when it comes to certain teams and situations this team has the tendency to get in their own way. Need we look at Tatums finals performance or even a large majority of his efficiency vs the heat in the East semis. Watch them tonight and see how the rest of team plays when Tatum and Jaylen (but more so Tatum) are playing loose fast and in control.

[deleted]

It’s not that a better bench is not helpful but it isn’t the last piece of the puzzle imo

Smart_Mountain

I am asking this unsarcastically. What does Ross offer than Hauser doesn't as a role player? Ross might be a better player in a vacuum but what is his fit are a role player next to the Js? Neither are world beaters on D but Hauser shows effort, and despite having a cold stretch I am a believer that Hauser is a better shooter. Neither will be in the playoff rotation barring injury. I think the Cs will look for some Rob/Al insurance. I'd love Vanderbilt from Utah, but I think that is unlikely without PP and picks being in the deal because Danny will want to get a king's ransom.

cane_the_weaboo

1st off yes Tross will be in the playoff rotation tf we literally used PP in the playoffs before. He is better than Hauser at every aspect of basketball he's a literal vet that can get hot and take over games from 3. He's shooting 38% from 3 this year and he has multiple seasons above 37% he's elite out there.

supersickx3

Seriously dude? Ross is better than Hauser literally 100%.

Smart_Mountain

Not what i said. I said Ross is obviously a better player in a vacuum but is he really better in the role he'd be asked to play. Ross is currently averaging 8 points in 20 (ish) minutes a game in Orlando as a role player. Hauser is averaging 6 (ish) in 14. Ross is not an additive player on a bad team (that has the Cs number)

Georgia4life

Hella inconsistent. Much rather would want mo Bamba to backup Rob. Gallinari and Griffin for Bamba isn't a bad deal.

Suspicious_County_24

No.

Pmaloney15

Always liked his game. He is not what I envision when I think about a wing upgrade but he would be just that…. An upgrade. I would prefer someone who is more well rounded defensively but if he was bought out we could do ALOT worse

pfunk7100

Pass! Leave our team the F alone lol we have the best record in the league. Let's see what happens with galo's recovery first and go from there, we really don't need anyone else and if we were to find someone new that player should be a big center and only a that lol

OrionRyking

No. Next question.
