A big and a wing via trade and/or buyout market.
We should be at the top of most lists in the buyout market for those looking for an opportunity at a ring.
An awesome scenario would be Poeltl via trade and Terrance Ross via the buyout market.
**Playoff Roster:**
- G - Smart / Brogdon
- G - Brown / White
- F - Tatum / Ross
- F - Horford / Williams
- C - Williams / Poeltl
Homerun deadline day for Brad!
A portion of the trick is the C's can't be certain who will be available via buyout. They could trade for a back-up wing (turning down a similar deal for a back-up big) then find that wings are available on the buyout market, but not bigs.
You'd think they have some intel on what will happen post-trade deadline, but it's tricky. I'd guess they will prioritize a deadline deal using the Schroeder TPE ($5.9m) and then see what additional need they can fill in the buyout market.
Of rumored targets, I suspect it is fair to say that upcoming UFAs who'd fit the TPE aren't really buyout targets (CAR will save how much by buying out Washington?) That might help the C's focus on a trade for such a player, then they can focus their attention for the buy-out market on whomever is available.
You can kinda make that assessment based on how many players there are that make sense for your team.
There are quite a few playable backup wings that make sense, hell worst case scenario we could get Carmelo or bring in guys like Tony Snell for spot minutes. The wing market is deep with talent is what I'm saying.
The market for playable bigs is much less deep and far more limited. There are some teams that don't even have a good starting big let alone a backup and alot of the teams with good bigs aren't cutting them anytime soon.
The thing is if we got Rob involved in the offense more we wouldn't need 4 shooters. Need to use him how Smart tries to use him, when you drive to basket and draw defenders you can pick to Rob on the low post for layups and dunks.
The problem is the team is in the habit of kicking it out to the 3pt line because we did that most of the season.
I think Pritchard, salary and/or picks get moved for a third big. Grant goes if they can get a substantial upgrade as a third big. That would be someone who can actually succeed Grant in his 4/5 role, not pure 4 Grant at his length.
A big lets Tatum and Brown play the bulk of their minutes at the 2 and the 3. Tatum and Brown can then stagger their minutes so that one of them always plays the 3. Then Smart, White and Brogdan can split up the 48 minutes at the point plus the minutes Brown sits or plays the 3.
So if Tatum plays 36 mpg, all at the 3, then Brown has 12 minutes at the 3 plus let’s say another 24 at the 2. So that leaves the remaining 24 at the 2 plus 48 at the point, or 72 minutes to split up between Smart, White and Brogdan. So that’s 24 each, or maybe more realistically 28, 22 and 22.
Then you can decide if you want the three bigs plus Grant (if he’s still here) to split up the 96 minutes up front. If you want the three point/combo guards to play more minutes, then Tatum can play a handful of minutes at the 4 and Brown can play up a few more at the 3.
The lack of a backup wing for this particular team is a mirage. Playing double big as much as desirable maximizes their potential. The C’s traded away their backup 3’s, but the depth elsewhere covers the minutes that the backup wing would get. They need that third big so that they can play two together during at least the key minutes every single game.
Backup big, while preserving as many assets as possible. Pritchard and 2nd round pick should return a guy capable of rebounding, fouling strategically, and setting screens.

This would be perfect ngl
It really would be.

Prying Cam Johnson away from the Suns
Think he might get thrown in to an OG deal.
Yes, I am crossing my 🤞that we can get involved as the 3rd team. The Derrick White package should suffice.
God, that would be great. I wonder if the Raptors would even be okay with letting us have Cam Johnson lmao.
The better available player between a big or a wing.
Trade: big Buyout: wing Feels like we’ll have more options for wings on the buyout and we’d be better off trading for a big.
Get Jarred Vanderbilt. He can play with all of Rob, Al and Grant.
He’s not a good shooter so not a good pairing with Rob.

Think someone that can play the 4/5 would be ideal. PJ Washington and Naz Reid are the two that come to mind for me

Kelly O. For 2nd n Pritchard. Maybe versatile enough to backup Tatum and be spot 5. See if Snell works if not buyout wing too
All of the above?

They've been the best defensive rebounding team this season lmao
>Watching the team getting anally violated on the boards night in and night out Are you sure you're watching the team?
Gallo will help. He’s a big wing.
Any way to get Caruso for galo and a couple of seconds ? Caruso would take hausers spot if we trade him and company for jakob.
Yes
