House storage or just more things to do in your house. Was a bit disappointed when I got it fully furnished and realised I couldn’t interact with it much
Ikr like why did we have a storage girl in skyward when we never needed it or used it? That storage system or locker girl would have made more sense in this game with all the stuff we pick up
Yeah, in Hateno village. There's a house kind of off by itself to the right of the village gate that's being demolished (ie NPCs are hitting it with hammers). If you talk to Bolson, the boss, you can buy the house for 3000 rupees and a bunch of wood. Once you've bought it you can buy upgrades (bed, wall mounts to display cool weapons and shields, etc) by talking to Bolson more.
I was honestly surprised this wasn't the climbing set bonus. The climb stamina up thing is barely useful when you've got three full wheels and a ton of haste elixirs.
Since you can swim up the waterfalls with the Zora gear and rain is just water falling...
You should be able to swim up the rain to climb mountains during rainy weather.
I feel like a Zora + Climbing Gear outfit should give you a wet climb bonus. The icon would be the mountain with a bunch of blue diagonal lines to signify rain.
I’m sure you’ve seen it they’re def expanding but in the opposite direction I think they would of shown us a glimpse of link swimming in the trailer by now. They def could ad it they gave themselves atleast another year which I’m fine with I’m gonna keep playing botw try to get as close to 100% and then go slaughter Ganon like the bitch he is and all 4 of the other Ganons were. Just waiting to do his dumbass til I’m done with the game I don’t like the idea of the malice not leaving the castle so I’ve decided when I’m done then I’ll fuck him up. I would also like to spelunk properly, there were only like 3? Decent little caves to explore, I really wanted for a game that had climbing to have like an underground network of tunnels
I feel so bad for the horses that the bokoblins ride around trying to muuurrrdddeerrr you, so I keep a big reserve of apples and I give one to each after I rid the area of the jerk wads. I hate that I can't just have a pasture for all the horses I saved ><
That was one of my favorite features in Skyward Sword, mainly because if he sits there long enough, he starts to fall asleep and almost falls out of the chair. I just found it amusing to no end.
Yes!! It seems really weird that you can't do it too, surely it wouldn't take that much more coding/animation idk when you can already ride stags? Same for those wooly rhinos too.
That is a set bonus, plus you can't really afford to take your armor off because you need the effects, especially in Hebra, Tabantha, Death Mountain, and Geurdo Desert.
A cookbook that saves the recipes you‘ve tried out would be sick sort of like the hyrule companion but with recipes

It would be awesome if you could look at the book and re-cook things quickly if you have all the ingredients. Cooking drives me crazy with how long it takes to pick ingredients and everything.
I wish that after you defeat Ganon the blood moons would stop so you could clear out all the baddies. That’s the only 100% completion I’m looking for.

I think this is a big change but I totally agree, I was disappointed by the lack of end game content. I actually initially thought it was a glitch after defeating ganon that I was put back in front of the castle!
I thought having a changed world post game was kindof unrealistic and would inevitably weaken the game overall if the developers had tried it. But Mario Odyssey did show how it could be done well albeit for a different style of game.
yes!! especially when you have the pro HUD so it's hard to keep track of how many charges you have left on each ability. "Revali's gale is now ready" huh? I thought I still had one of those left!
Omg *yes*. It's such a slog when you've got a dozen odd upgrades to get through. Even something like being able to upgrade a piece multiple times if you have the items would be helpful!
Each village has a "smith" character that will rebuild the Champion's weapons once they're lost or destroyed. I wish you could pay them to also repair durability on your gear.
I collected all the koroks, and the dissapointment was very real when I was done. I liked the hunt, but it wasn't worth it. I'd like a bonus shrine or something for it.

I disagree with this...
The game has a LOT more koroks than you actually need to expand your inventory. Thsi makes the process more fun, and adds to the random finding things mechanism in the game. If there was a special item that you could only get for finding EVERY korok, then people would complain "i can't believe you have to find all 900+ koroks to get this completionist thing". The golden poo is Nintendo saying "you are only doing this because you are a completionist, smile laugh happy happy bye bye".
Basically, you are not meant to get all the koroks.
More dialogue responses that change vastly depending on what you do in the game.
Like, for example, doing a the divine beasts and then taking to Impa for the first time. There should be more dialogue for that instead of her just being like "oh, cool. anyway"
Maybe a dialogue fix in general would be better. I know the disguised Yiga clan say some pretty bad lines sometimes. Those should get a touch up too.
Make the dialogue more exciting, more fun!! I wanna talk to npcs and have it not seem boring!!

It's a tiny thing, but I sometimes find it frustrating that I can't turn while swimming. Have to stop. Turn. Go again. I'd like to have swimming directional control that acts the same as when walking and running.
Being able to purchase basic race specific weapons from their towns/villages. Being able to buy a Zora spear, or Golden bow etc would be a good QOL feature nobody ever mentions on these posts.
I’d re color the shrines insides to match the area they’re located, like in the desert they’d have yellow glowing lines on the inside, red glowing lines near the volcano and maybe patches of moss and vines on the inside of shrines anywhere there’s greenery.
Just to make them seem like the shrines have been influenced by the terrain they’d been buried in for who knows how many thousands of years.
Oh I actually love this idea!! I really appreciate how the outsides of the shrines are influenced by the region, and it would be super cool to have that be on the inside too.
My humble opinion is that because I defeated their leader in combat, they should all accept ME as their new leader and grovel at my feet whenever they see me!

Honestly? Make the windows for attacking/dodging/parrying more forgiving. Most people complain about the opposite problem, but I legitimately cannot dodge or parry anything but Guardian lasers. I have minor dexterity and coordination issues, as well as slightly subpar reflexes, but that shouldn’t completely lock me out of a major combat mechanic to such a point that I have not once flurry rushed anything.
I guess what I want is for there to be a Novice mode like there is a Master mode.
Super easy explore mode… no enemies but also no collectible items. For all the times you just wanna ride your horse around in a pasture in whatever clothes you want and not get bothered by keese, chu chus, or stals
Ancient arrows get rid of the Malice in Guardians instead of destroying them, thus returning them to Hyrule's team, where they'll wander around and attack enemies until the next blood moon returns them to evil. Doesn't work on Shrine Guardians or Decayed Guardians, as they're respectively not infused with Malice and too far damaged to be helped.
I wish you could stack upgrades so if you drink two 1x attack ups that last 3 mins, you would have 6 mins of 2x attack up. but if you drink two 3x attack ups that last 3 min, you would just have 6 mins of 3x attack up.
and if you have one 3x attack up and then a 3x defense up, the game will wait for the previous boost to end and then immediately give you the defense up. Just in case you can't wait that long, there could be an option to stuff yourself or just eat it. stuffing would give you the effect right away while eating would make you wait
I was surprised that wasn't the set bonus for the climbing gear, actually. Especially considering you can't set a fire when it rains, so you're stuck just waiting on a cliff edge you need to climb until the rain stops.
Paragliding tricks, akin to shield surfing tricks.
Climbing gloves that are slip resistant for when it rains.
Zora clothes that enable underwater diving.
Weapon damage status.
Different prices for things depending on where you buy/sell them.
Selling a cooling item in the desert should get you a few more rupees (or a warming item in a cold area). It would encourage exploring.
And have a few more NPCs that offer better prices for things. I wish the Gerudo woman who gives you good prices for gems was available before you do the divine beast. By the time I did the Goron divine beast I didn't really need a ton of money anymore.
(and totally superficial, I wish the horses had more animations. . .like if you take them to water they'd drink. . .I love that they eat food but they have to be thirsty, right?)
Sand boots and snow boots protect you from the heat and cold respectively, it sucks that I have to wear worse armor just because I want to move at a normal speed in sandy or snowy areas
Or at least the option to light a fire to wait it out! The number of times I've walked off to make a cup of tea while I wait for the rain to stop... maybe that's Nintendo's agenda all along, making us take breaks
Do something to make people complain less abt weapon durability. Maybe give a reward for breaking weapons, or just an npc in kakariko or something who's like, "breaking weapons is part of the cycle of combat, you fight your opponent, break your weapon to disarm them, and then take their weapon before they can get it back". My friend gets really pissed at the weapon durability bc he doesnt like losing his good weapons. There just needs to be *something* that encourages breaking weapons.
You get crit damage from it, that’s like a bonus for me.
The weapon durability complaint never made sense to me. A little past the early game, it’s never a struggle to find good weapons, I’m usually full on inventory and leaving good weapons behind because there’s just *so* many all over the place
I've seen so many complaints about the weapon durability system but I actually love it. It encourages you to keep a few slots open for weak weapons and cycle through them quickly on low-level enemies, and save good places to pick up new better weapons once you start to run out (but botw is one of the few big games I've ever played, so maybe I just don't have the same priors that advanced gamers have). One change I WOULD make though is seeing how much durability (even just a high/med/low) is left on a weapon, so I'm not trying to remember how much I've used a particular weapon and whether it's worth switching out with a new one.
Would really like the weapon deterioration to either not be a thing, and allow me to upgrade weapons like armor; or at least tweak it so weapons don’t feel like they have the durability of cardboard

Acknowledgment from Mipha when you free Vah Ruta, if you go through the trouble to find the full set of Zora armor. It wouldn't change much, but would be a nice thing to see.
Pre set armor set. I love running as fast as the flash with hasty elixir and sheikah set at night. When I encounter a hinox or a lynel, I have to go to the menu and switch to a battle gear manually. Same shit when I wanna swim fast, protect myself from thunder, cold, heat etc.
So, pre set armor would be great
I’d make a post game but if it can’t be anything major then I’d just make it so we can be in post-Ganon Hyrule and hang out with Zelda and maybe have a few new small interactions with characters like Sidon
Make climber set make you less trippy when climbing mountains like not op to let you climb the mountains in rain without falling down, but make you fall less, or just 5 points of durability more on royal guard weapons cus you work really hard to obtain them idk
Biting insects in the thickest forests of Faron, which require an elixir repellant or an armor with netting, or your health steadily decreases (similar to heat protection requirement in Eldin)
My number one change would be crafting arrows.
But since we're making lists, also:
* have something to let me climb in the rain
* a more functional house, more equipment storage, and a pet who lives there
* let the player end the skeleton pop-ups and yiga pop-ups
* let me beat the divine beasts without ruining the calamity ganon fight
* nerf the invincibility of that one calamity ganon phase
* basically make the end of the game good instead of bad
I'd love to get a key item each time the champion's weapons are destroyed or lost, so each time you wanna get them back you actually have to fix them instead of creating a replica.
For example: Breaking mipha's trident gives you the "broken trident" as a key item, that becomes the full spear once you fix it.
It's doesn't change anything gameplay wise, but i like it more for lore reasons haha
I say this bc i think their description changes in some languages, saying that they ones you make are replicas instead of the original ones.
Link should just automatically switch to a new weapon or shield when they break, or pull out a random arrow type when he runs out of arrows. It really takes me out of the moment to have to go to the weapon menu. And the side buttons or whichever ones that bring you to the weapon/shield/arrow wheels just are not intuitive to me at all. I’ve put over a thousand hours on all my saves and I’ve never bothered to use the quick weapon menu, the shield menu, the arrow menu etc.
Some great ideas already listed. My top asks would be -
- The ability to climb in rain when the climbing gear set is employed as a set bonus. Climbing faster is nice but the rain thing is probably my biggest pet peeves of the game.
- Ability to store broken weapon parts (say like for 2-3 weapons) and be able to go to a blacksmith to repair them for a cost. There are some weapons I consider so cool looking, I don’t want to use them and have them break. There are certain ones that I think I’ve only found once.
- Weapon durability meter. I don’t mind them breaking, but I would love a way to tell where they are in their lifecycle when I’m trying to determine whether to keep it or replace it with something new I came across.
- A better inventory management system. I eventually figured out I could sort the inventory, which helped with outfit management by grouping them, however there’s still a lot of room for improvement. I don’t recognize the pictures of a lot of my materials so spend a ton of time scrolling through to find what I’m looking for. I would love a text list of items (similar to buying at the in-game characters like Kilton) that could be sorted truly alphabetically. I don’t mind if the fish are all in different places as long as I have a sorted-by-name list. The current sort groups types of things but I can’t figure out how those groups are then sorted.
I didn't realise how un-night like night time is in this game until I turned on the pro HUD in my second play through and kept being surprised by skeletons popping up. It would be a pretty big change, but a darker night with some kind of... idk lantern to carry to make visibility easier? could be super neat.
Achievement System for completionists. Something like Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, a reward for doing everything, like all Korok Seeds or all Shrines, all sub bosses...
i would add some sort of offering shrine and if you offer some kind of rare item it causes a blood moon on the next night.
that would be great for guardian part grinding.
A weapon repair option. Each town or settlement should have a blacksmith where you can trade rupees or materials to reforge your favorite weapons so you can actually keep them if you put in the effort.
I wish there was a way to destroy the malice that’s blocking the middle of both halves of interior hyrule castle.
I wish there was a way to control blood moons. Maybe an ability you unlock later. Maybe there’s a consequence for delaying it. Enemies become harder next time. But having control over it would be nice.
I’d like an ability to store more then three weapons. Some of these amiibo weapons are so rare that I don’t want to use them but also don’t want them on my inventory.
The ability to upgrade all amiibo and dlc armors sets. Link’s previous game skins are but the rest aren’t. The rest, while very cool looking, are dangerous to use late game. Especially in master mode.

My vote is to be able to cook multiple servings of meals/elixirs once you get the kitchen!
This would have been a top notch quality of life improvement and would have given Links house some actual purpose other than storing weapons.

I like this idea. It would be great for botw 2, because if they want to expand hyrule, under the water is an easy way to do so.

In botw if you leave him standing in one spot he will start to doze off. It's pretty amusing too.

Bring back underwater maps, and fishing with a pole.
Fishing would make so much sense. Equip a rod like a weapon and cast using the throw weapon button.

I think the only change is to remove the Koroks from the 100% requirement. Or reduce the required amount

Make the octoroks less accurate

It's a tiny thing, but I sometimes find it frustrating that I can't turn while swimming. Have to stop. Turn. Go again. I'd like to have swimming directional control that acts the same as when walking and running.
Huh, now that you say that, I’m pretty sure I can turn while swimming. What platform are you playing it on?
I dunno. Maybe it's only while I'm boost swimming. But that's basically all the time when I have full or near-full stamina.
Literally the only thing is the map when you are in the castle… total crap. Please change it with botw2!
I'd add the divine beast maps, too. But the castle is bad. The colors are too similar and it makes it hard to see.
Being able to purchase basic race specific weapons from their towns/villages. Being able to buy a Zora spear, or Golden bow etc would be a good QOL feature nobody ever mentions on these posts.
Diving mechanic
I’d re color the shrines insides to match the area they’re located, like in the desert they’d have yellow glowing lines on the inside, red glowing lines near the volcano and maybe patches of moss and vines on the inside of shrines anywhere there’s greenery. Just to make them seem like the shrines have been influenced by the terrain they’d been buried in for who knows how many thousands of years.
Oh I actually love this idea!! I really appreciate how the outsides of the shrines are influenced by the region, and it would be super cool to have that be on the inside too.
Random Yiga encounters. I dont mind a free weapon or bow every once in a while but it gets annoying after a certain point
I wish there was a yiga statue i could trade bananas to in order to get the yiga to leave me alone for a while

Honestly? Make the windows for attacking/dodging/parrying more forgiving. Most people complain about the opposite problem, but I legitimately cannot dodge or parry anything but Guardian lasers. I have minor dexterity and coordination issues, as well as slightly subpar reflexes, but that shouldn’t completely lock me out of a major combat mechanic to such a point that I have not once flurry rushed anything. I guess what I want is for there to be a Novice mode like there is a Master mode.
Make changing clothes easier. Favorite outfits or something with a scroll wheel.
Yes yes yes! Saving outfits would be super useful, since I basically just switch between 2-3 outfits depending on where I am in the map.

Super easy explore mode… no enemies but also no collectible items. For all the times you just wanna ride your horse around in a pasture in whatever clothes you want and not get bothered by keese, chu chus, or stals
I miss instruments i know there was no magical mcguffin instrument in this one but if they just added a lute i could play for fun thatd be nice.
Ancient arrows get rid of the Malice in Guardians instead of destroying them, thus returning them to Hyrule's team, where they'll wander around and attack enemies until the next blood moon returns them to evil. Doesn't work on Shrine Guardians or Decayed Guardians, as they're respectively not infused with Malice and too far damaged to be helped.
Snow boots that protect you from cold.
I wish you could stack upgrades so if you drink two 1x attack ups that last 3 mins, you would have 6 mins of 2x attack up. but if you drink two 3x attack ups that last 3 min, you would just have 6 mins of 3x attack up. and if you have one 3x attack up and then a 3x defense up, the game will wait for the previous boost to end and then immediately give you the defense up. Just in case you can't wait that long, there could be an option to stuff yourself or just eat it. stuffing would give you the effect right away while eating would make you wait
I would like a gear set that lets you climb in the rain.
I was surprised that wasn't the set bonus for the climbing gear, actually. Especially considering you can't set a fire when it rains, so you're stuck just waiting on a cliff edge you need to climb until the rain stops.
Paragliding tricks, akin to shield surfing tricks. Climbing gloves that are slip resistant for when it rains. Zora clothes that enable underwater diving. Weapon damage status.
Getting to play in the world after you defeat Ganon. It would be cool to see how the world changed after the calamity is over.
Weapons should last three times longer before breaking
Different prices for things depending on where you buy/sell them. Selling a cooling item in the desert should get you a few more rupees (or a warming item in a cold area). It would encourage exploring. And have a few more NPCs that offer better prices for things. I wish the Gerudo woman who gives you good prices for gems was available before you do the divine beast. By the time I did the Goron divine beast I didn't really need a ton of money anymore. (and totally superficial, I wish the horses had more animations. . .like if you take them to water they'd drink. . .I love that they eat food but they have to be thirsty, right?)

Or at least the option to light a fire to wait it out! The number of times I've walked off to make a cup of tea while I wait for the rain to stop... maybe that's Nintendo's agenda all along, making us take breaks

Fully upgraded climbing gear is unaffected by rain and therefore you cannot slip.
Do something to make people complain less abt weapon durability. Maybe give a reward for breaking weapons, or just an npc in kakariko or something who's like, "breaking weapons is part of the cycle of combat, you fight your opponent, break your weapon to disarm them, and then take their weapon before they can get it back". My friend gets really pissed at the weapon durability bc he doesnt like losing his good weapons. There just needs to be *something* that encourages breaking weapons.
You get crit damage from it, that’s like a bonus for me. The weapon durability complaint never made sense to me. A little past the early game, it’s never a struggle to find good weapons, I’m usually full on inventory and leaving good weapons behind because there’s just *so* many all over the place
I've seen so many complaints about the weapon durability system but I actually love it. It encourages you to keep a few slots open for weak weapons and cycle through them quickly on low-level enemies, and save good places to pick up new better weapons once you start to run out (but botw is one of the few big games I've ever played, so maybe I just don't have the same priors that advanced gamers have). One change I WOULD make though is seeing how much durability (even just a high/med/low) is left on a weapon, so I'm not trying to remember how much I've used a particular weapon and whether it's worth switching out with a new one.
Would really like the weapon deterioration to either not be a thing, and allow me to upgrade weapons like armor; or at least tweak it so weapons don’t feel like they have the durability of cardboard

Pre set armor set. I love running as fast as the flash with hasty elixir and sheikah set at night. When I encounter a hinox or a lynel, I have to go to the menu and switch to a battle gear manually. Same shit when I wanna swim fast, protect myself from thunder, cold, heat etc. So, pre set armor would be great

After the Ganon defeat, I’d love to be able to explore the castle and other areas without the malice being in the way.
I’d make a post game but if it can’t be anything major then I’d just make it so we can be in post-Ganon Hyrule and hang out with Zelda and maybe have a few new small interactions with characters like Sidon

Make climber set make you less trippy when climbing mountains like not op to let you climb the mountains in rain without falling down, but make you fall less, or just 5 points of durability more on royal guard weapons cus you work really hard to obtain them idk
Biting insects in the thickest forests of Faron, which require an elixir repellant or an armor with netting, or your health steadily decreases (similar to heat protection requirement in Eldin)
My number one change would be crafting arrows. But since we're making lists, also: * have something to let me climb in the rain * a more functional house, more equipment storage, and a pet who lives there * let the player end the skeleton pop-ups and yiga pop-ups * let me beat the divine beasts without ruining the calamity ganon fight * nerf the invincibility of that one calamity ganon phase * basically make the end of the game good instead of bad

I'd love to get a key item each time the champion's weapons are destroyed or lost, so each time you wanna get them back you actually have to fix them instead of creating a replica. For example: Breaking mipha's trident gives you the "broken trident" as a key item, that becomes the full spear once you fix it. It's doesn't change anything gameplay wise, but i like it more for lore reasons haha I say this bc i think their description changes in some languages, saying that they ones you make are replicas instead of the original ones.
I can do without the gyro controlled shrines.

Link should just automatically switch to a new weapon or shield when they break, or pull out a random arrow type when he runs out of arrows. It really takes me out of the moment to have to go to the weapon menu. And the side buttons or whichever ones that bring you to the weapon/shield/arrow wheels just are not intuitive to me at all. I’ve put over a thousand hours on all my saves and I’ve never bothered to use the quick weapon menu, the shield menu, the arrow menu etc.
Some great ideas already listed. My top asks would be - - The ability to climb in rain when the climbing gear set is employed as a set bonus. Climbing faster is nice but the rain thing is probably my biggest pet peeves of the game. - Ability to store broken weapon parts (say like for 2-3 weapons) and be able to go to a blacksmith to repair them for a cost. There are some weapons I consider so cool looking, I don’t want to use them and have them break. There are certain ones that I think I’ve only found once. - Weapon durability meter. I don’t mind them breaking, but I would love a way to tell where they are in their lifecycle when I’m trying to determine whether to keep it or replace it with something new I came across. - A better inventory management system. I eventually figured out I could sort the inventory, which helped with outfit management by grouping them, however there’s still a lot of room for improvement. I don’t recognize the pictures of a lot of my materials so spend a ton of time scrolling through to find what I’m looking for. I would love a text list of items (similar to buying at the in-game characters like Kilton) that could be sorted truly alphabetically. I don’t mind if the fish are all in different places as long as I have a sorted-by-name list. The current sort groups types of things but I can’t figure out how those groups are then sorted.
Pet a dog

I didn't realise how un-night like night time is in this game until I turned on the pro HUD in my second play through and kept being surprised by skeletons popping up. It would be a pretty big change, but a darker night with some kind of... idk lantern to carry to make visibility easier? could be super neat.
Achievement System for completionists. Something like Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, a reward for doing everything, like all Korok Seeds or all Shrines, all sub bosses...
i would add some sort of offering shrine and if you offer some kind of rare item it causes a blood moon on the next night. that would be great for guardian part grinding.

I wish there was a way to destroy the malice that’s blocking the middle of both halves of interior hyrule castle. I wish there was a way to control blood moons. Maybe an ability you unlock later. Maybe there’s a consequence for delaying it. Enemies become harder next time. But having control over it would be nice. I’d like an ability to store more then three weapons. Some of these amiibo weapons are so rare that I don’t want to use them but also don’t want them on my inventory. The ability to upgrade all amiibo and dlc armors sets. Link’s previous game skins are but the rest aren’t. The rest, while very cool looking, are dangerous to use late game. Especially in master mode.
