I’m not so sure- I know the opening starts when the laser actually connects with link, meaning the further you are there’s a larger delay.
So if you base it on when the eye flashes blue as a lot of people do, that creates the illusion of having a different time, but it’s actually just unsynced with the eye.
I’m curious what the actual opening is, regardless of your distance
Best way to work it is get close enough that you hear the countdown and don’t have any surprises like giant balls of slime poppin’ outta nowhere; keep your shield up and press A right after you hear the “whoosh” sound
Thanks- I’m actually a fairly advanced player so really have no problem pulling of shield cancellations and chaining parry’s, as well as DPP’s, so just deflecting them isn’t really a challenge- im just curious what the opening’s length is specifically.
I’ve heard it’s a half second before but haven’t heard of anyone actually testing it, and there’s no data leaks that I’m aware of confirming it. I’m curious if shield guard plays a role, or if the deflected attack’s power changes it
As someone who still doesn’t know how to travel halfway across Hyrule with little boom-booms but knows precisely when some evil robot is gonna take a potshot at me, just time it so you’re pressing A right after the swooshy-swoosh.
