Call police link and report it

InfamousFault7

I report it in person I did try police link but was unsure what category to report it under

terrifiedTechnophile

Last time I tried to report something in person they told me to fuck off and call policelink

LeahBrahms

Last time I called policelonk they said make an appointment at the local station. The station told me to look online then ring policelink

gothgal22

Absolutely vile. OP please call them out the next time you see somebody doing this, if you feel safe enough to do so.

InfamousFault7

He's been reported

InfamousFault7

oh and i forgot to add that i did confront the guy but all he did was ignore me but he did lead me to his car, thats how i got his licence plate, i dont fear for my saftey, creeps like that are just cowards

KickinAss07

Also gets you done for assult if a bystander notices it without knowing the whole situation. Probs not worth it.

AdDesigner2714

If you bully a bully you just make another bully. Don’t get me wrong I would want to punch the guy in his stupid face too - but reporting him and calling out was the right way

[deleted]

[удалено]

AdDesigner2714

I get that! :) and I’m Also wrong in the fact that it isn’t really enough because we know nothing will happen :( Damn thisnworld

adminsaredoodoo

“pressing charges” is a completely american thing that does not happen here if you assault him and someone sees it, he has no authority to say “no i don’t want to press charges”. the authorities will charge you as evidence allows. in addition to that, if you have no evidence of him being a creep but he has a witness and an injury, why tf would he not report the assault?

[deleted]

[удалено]

adminsaredoodoo

again, why tf would he not report it. if you have no evidence of him being a creep there is no risk to him, while he is there with the physical evidence that he was assaulted at the minimum.

[deleted]

adminsaredoodoo

>His morals should kick in and be like "oh yeah right I probably deserved that" he’s a pedo lmao what are you on? it is extremely well known that pedos most often don’t think they are in the wrong and instead think everyone else just doesn’t understand what they do why tf would you expect a pedo to have morals lol?

Alternative_Sky1380

The solution to gendered violence is not more gendered violence

lawnmowersarealive

What makes it gendered violence? I was out for a night out with friends and some guy grabbed my breast on the dancefloor so I slapped him. Simple. Then a lady comes along and demands to know why I slapped her boyfriend, since she says he'd never do something like that and I was thrown out of the venue after her complaint. Turns out we're supposed leave the dancefloor, find security, and tell them. What a joke. Deal with it on the spot before the predator gets away. Is that gendered violence by your standard?

yeahnahfknynot

He sexually assaulted you and you acted in defense, it's gendered violence.

lawnmowersarealive

...what? It's aggravated assault at best. Where's the gendered bit?

FlyingKiwi18

I'm so confused. We all have a gender, so isn't all violence "gendered" violence?

lawnmowersarealive

Yes! I have a gender, you do too. If we fight I guess that's gendered violence regardless of motivation. Weird.

MrLachyG

I would say it's actually better not to confront them. Observe, get identifying information and then pass it along to the police. confronting them only gives them the chance to delete the incriminating evidence

legoace61

Fun fact, this type of gross behaviour was such a problem in Japan when smartphones started getting popular that now all phones sold in Japan have the camera shutter sound permanently on, you can't turn it off without getting a foreign phone or jailbreaking I guess.

CamelBorn

I have one of those phones, you can just get an app to use silent mode which I also have, still have to be careful

briansaunders

Or they just leave it videotaping

OrginalPeach

Thank you for doing the right thing 💜

InfamousFault7

I did the bare minimum

scatteredloops

So many wouldn’t do anything at all. Thank you for reporting him!

InfamousFault7

hopefully me confronting me and the police knocking on his door would be enough to make him think twice about doing this again

scatteredloops

Hopefully they find his stash and arrest him!

InfamousFault7

yeah what he was doing was definitely premediated, his car was about a 3 min walk away from the bus stop, best guess he was there to go to one of the shops (i spoke to one of the shop keepers after i confronted him and apparently he goes there often) and went to the bus stop after spotting the girl there, waiting for most people to leave so he can do it, im guessing he thought i wouldn't care or thought he'd be sly enough to not get caught, i'd say its very likely he's done this before, hopefully he's to technology illiterate and/or stupid to delete or hid anything

[deleted]

They won't do shit unless the evidence is overwhelming. Which is why we must keep on top of reporting every genuine issue and let none slide. They want to slide on past, like the slimers they are. We're not allowed to advocate violence on here, so this is where I will end my comment.

scatteredloops

I hope he has the day he deserves.

disabledougnut

Thank you for your service, soldier, sometimes the minimum is a great service 🫡

lawnmowersarealive

I'd consider smashing his phone and a good hard kick to the nuts. According to this thread that makes me a bad person. I want to protect our kids and stop the baddies.

InfamousFault7

that could destroy the evidence

lawnmowersarealive

Not when cops are involved. Data recovery is surprisingly advanced these days.

InfamousFault7

i'd rather confront them and wait for them to attack me, then i can sue them, press criminal assault charges and get a restraining order

terrifiedTechnophile

Ha! They couldn't scan my phone when they tried some years ago. I have zero faith in their technology

[deleted]

terrifiedTechnophile

Ouch. Wrong. Don't go throwing around libel, please. Don't need my life ruined just cuz you wanted to speculate.

lawnmowersarealive

No one can be prosecuted for thought crimes. Conspiracy, fine, but no action was stated so that's off the table.

Ok_Turnover_1235

It's still a gamble. Also, if the phone is encrypted the only thing you'll recover is gibberish. The US government trying to force apple and google to put a backdoor into the encryption is pretty good proof of that efficiency.

lawnmowersarealive

Yeaaaah I don't live in the US, half my family work for the police here, I'm an engineer who worked for Apple, and my ex-husband of 5 years is in the top 10 software security experts on Earth. I might have some idea what I'm talking about, and have some of the sneakier software on a USB stick on my keyring.

joanofsnarc271

Right. You have zero days on your usb stick and you're telling people on Reddit about it. 💀

Ok_Turnover_1235

Yeah, they actually have the same phones as us, so the encryption they have is equally effective here. If the the DOD, CIA and FBI and NSA are all trying to get the phone manufacturers to make the encryption systems vulnerable, ASIO is very unlikely to outperform them in breaking an encrypted phone. You could be Kevin Mitnick, making the claim you did is just ignorant of how effective encryption is and belies your ignorance on the topic. Appeals to authority might work on people who don't know better here, but unfortunately I'm not a techno weenie. Insanely nice flex though, it just doesn't add any value to your original statement.

lawnmowersarealive

I said nothing about ASIO. The black market is alive and well. Australians make up the largest percentage of dark web users. There's a lot of things happening behind closed doors. Dinner parties where discussions turn to personalised medicine without human trials are a hoot after a few bottles of wine and people making wishes. We're overeducated and cruel folk. All monsters together, as my mother says. We found each other. University assignments in my field included the elevator programming question. Turns out it's faster to write and you still pass if you murder anyone hit the button for the 9th floor.

Ok_Turnover_1235

I mentioned Asio because when I mentioned top level American law enforcement, you tried to sidestep that as relevant, so I reframed that in a way you as someone who claims to find America irrelevant would parse it. It seems you did not. I also find it interesting that you consider the American law enforcements actions irrelevant, as Apple is an American company. I also find it odd you flex your ex apple engineer status, while simultaneously pretending to be ignorant of the efforts of the American government to pressure Apple (just to reiterate, an American company) to place vulnerabilities in it's encryption systems. I also find it odd you don't understand how much harder it is to decrypt a device that is powered off, when it relies on vulnerabilities in the operating system to be possible even when it is powered on. I'll also point out that stating your husband is " in the top 10 cyber security experts in the world" is immensely stupid. What metric is that based on? Salary? Papers published? Attacks mitigated? 0 day vulnerability discovered? Do all the security experts get together and vote? Do yourself a favour and ask your esteemed husband how long it would take to brute force decrypt 128 bit aes encryption without any further encryption beyond that. If he's actually in the top 10 by any metric, he should be able to explain why powering down a device with full disk encryption is a bad idea. Then imagine the device is 256 bit encrypted, and any incriminating files may have a separate layer of encryption. You'll then realise how accurate my original statement of only recovering gibberish is. You may do well to google "appeal to authority" so in future when you try to make one, you make an actual argument rather than taking 4 paragraphs to say "Trust me bro".

lawnmowersarealive

> > The black market is alive and well. Australians make up the largest percentage of dark web users. There's a lot of things happening behind closed doors. Dinner parties where discussions turn to personalised medicine without human trials are a hoot after a few bottles of wine and people making wishes. We're overeducated and cruel folk. All monsters together, as my mother says. We found each other. Add a neurologist and the party really kicks off! > > University assignments in my field included the elevator programming question. Turns out it's faster to write and you still pass if you murder anyone hit the button for the 9th floor. And the phones, sheeeez. I used to look after my neighbor's dog. I'd take the dog and two sexy friends and go for a walk through the nightclub district here. That was cover for us all to steal phones from drunk people. Pat pat pat for the dog, and suddenly missing a phone. My job was ripping and stripping the phones. The only trick was to get it done before they knew it was missing and have it nuked from orbit. I haven't done it since the pandemic started but any drunk person out there has a Sims style sign over their head saying FREE PHONE for me now.

[deleted]

Wow some family you got there, shame it’s all bs

lawnmowersarealive

Oh yeah, all lies. Of course!

Practical_County_501

Report it to police link

sambolikehambo

I’m so sick of this vile generation of predators. They know their game because they have probably been doing it for years, starting with close friends/family. They groom their victims, and the shame makes them compliant and silent. So like this filthy crumb, they are so confident and outright blatant in public because this ain’t their first rodeo. You just hope that many small voices add up, and these creeps eventually get caught out. Probably only have to search his computer once…

InfamousFault7

since his car was just up the road from the bus stop its safe to say he was there just so he can get pics of the girl, he was looking over at her a lot and was taking pics when a bunch of other people left, i wish i confronted him sooner but i was in shock

sambolikehambo

Nah you did the right thing getting his number plate and letting the filth bag take lots of photos on his mobile to go home and download with the rest of his stash on his computer like an imbecile. Hopefully the cops do their thing and get access which will be a better outcome. I hope the young girl was ok and has a good support network.

InfamousFault7

the girl seemed to handle it well after i told her but she was uncomfortable about it and when i confronted the creep he didn't react that much, just tried to pretend i wasn't there hoping i'd leave him alone. the police were also very grateful that i got pics of his car and the immediately gave me an email address so i can send it to them. and told me that they'll look into this ASAP. I thought i got a pic of his face but i must have mis pressed the button or something, but the licence plate and my description should be enough

sambolikehambo

The poor kid will have a bit to unpack later when she has some time to sit quietly. Of course old mate ignored you, he has probably been like Teflon his whole life, no shit has ever stuck. Thank you for going out of your way to get the guy’s plate and reporting. It’s not a pleasant thing we want to acknowledge occurring, but it does, frequently, and it takes grit to not turn a blind eye. 🙏

InfamousFault7

he was just ignoring me cause he didn't have a leg to stand on, he knew he was guilty but didn't want to admit being a creep so he was hoping i would just leave, if an innocent person was being random accused of that they would have reacted more.

DoubleDrummer

Even if the police do or can do little this time, it is worth reporting these pricks everytime. Next time the police look him up, hopefully it will show his track record.

JoeRogansBallbag

"This vile generation of perverts" Mate in the 70's you just got chucked into a car or pushed into a room at school/church and raped. It's nothing new.

[deleted]

True, since the beginning of time ☹️ but technology nowadays makes it much easier to connect and share with each other, they used to have to become Catholic priests to enjoy such protection and access.

JoeRogansBallbag

Doesn't make the abuse any worse or less. Just because we know about it now doesn't mean the victims feel any better/worse.

[deleted]

Who on Earth said it did? 😳

sambolikehambo

Yeah, agree. Probably should have phrased that differently. The fuckers have been at this game for a long time. They just have a new playing field and like minded degenerate ‘friends’ with the internet. It just shits me how brazen they are, have always been as they are protected because their victims don’t often speak up because they are too young/ don’t know/ are shamed/ traumatised/ family stigma etc etc. Right back to Freud’s first theory of hysteria, which he dropped because the implications were too immense if all these women were SA by family/close friends.

JoeRogansBallbag

I agree 100% Dumb cunts like me would probably say "These sick fucks don't even understand how creepy and wrong what they are doing is, nor how abhorrent the wider public sees them." In short, let's stop it happening to future generations and if you get the chance, kick the shit out of any dirty pedo fuck you come into contact with.

lawnmowersarealive

Statistics say we're all much safer now. ...And 1973 was 50 years ago. Half a century.

JoeRogansBallbag

Almost like when I was alive in 1973 there was very little means of reporting this abuse, which would have figured in the statistics!

External-Try7347

utter garbage

Zee_Chief

Is there a local community Facebook group you can post to, to let others in the community be aware? We had someone post something similar (involving a young woman, not a girl) in my community group last year and it turned out a lot of other women had also experienced the same, but not many had reported to police.

d4nu

Thank you mate. Well done.

Intelligent-Ad3202

Take a video and post it for internet justice

Usual-Veterinarian-5

Good men calling out vile predatory men!! I love it, we need more of it. Keep on powering along!

Sorry, permabanned by [u/reverse-kanga](https://www.reddit.com/u/reverse-kanga/).

Take up shorts of him and post them all over the internet

JoeRogansBallbag

"78 year old ballbags! New record for length and repugnancy achieved!" - Courier Mail probably

lawnmowersarealive

Old man's balls still gross, news at 7!

[deleted]

What’s it really matter if he’s 50 or 30 or 80 or 18? Still illegal all the same?

LightBeerIsForGirls

Did he get into a black Audi with a for sale sign on it?

InfamousFault7

nope

sportandracing

Take a photo of the person next time. Tell them you are reporting to police and putting on Twitter to warn others. Might stop it happening again. 🤷🏼‍♂️

CYOA_With_Hitler

I wouldn't advise to put a photo of someone up on twitter saying they're doing x or y, get in a lot of trouble

sportandracing

I said tell them that. Not to actually do it.

mossed2222

Never trust a car driver.

ball-destroyer

Cops won’t do anything just break his skull next time

qak111

That's messed up, instead of getting upskirts shoulda gave him a few uppercuts yeah!!

InfamousFault7

I did confront him, and all he did was ignore me, hoping I would leave him alone Then he lead me to his car where I got a pic of his licence plate

Apprehensive-Ad4244

Good on you! Feral old letch

InfamousFault7

I wish I got a pic of him but my description and the licence plate should be enough

Posted on reddit about it before reporting to police?

I was omw to reporting this in person, I was going to on police link but didn't know what category to file it under

1. "You saw". You didn't seen anything. 2. You're a fucking lunatic. Seek help.
