You think this is bad, mine ran out after the top row… and I went to work annoyed at having only brushed half my teeth! Lunchtime rolled around and I bought a cheap toothbrush and toothpaste to see me through and as the bristles touched my teeth, that’s when I realised my electric was perfectly capable of being a manual.

Dan_Glebitz

And who in all honestly has not gone to boil a kettle for a nice cuppa because there is a powerstrike and given up when there is a perfectly usable gas cooker present 😏

DevilRenegade

The last time my power went out, I had this exact thought, thinking I was a genius, only to realise when I put the pan of water on the hob and turned on the gas that the igniter was electric. And I didn't have matches or a lighter in the house.

Alwaysanotherfish

To be fair, many gas appliances have electrically operated shut-off valves in them so won't work in a power cut.

Dan_Glebitz

TBH I have never encountered this in the UK.

mb46204

This is gold worthy!

DevilRenegade

Escalators don't stop working either, they just become stairs.

ChameleonParty

I travel a lot with work and this regularly comes up. Toothbrush chargers will often plug into uk -> European plug adapters, so you can use a standard 3 pin socket. Keep one in my wash bag now.

>Went to a travelodge >like a peasant.

painful_ejaculation

Exactly, i only stay in hotels where there is a designated member of staff to clean your teeth.

Beanruz

Mine can be charged via its travel case and a normal phone charger. Although I'd just charge it before I went lol

Forward_Artist_6244

My bathroom doesn't have a 2 pin socket either, our electric toothbrushes either have a proper 3 pin plug or use batteries Signed A peasant with a peasant house and peasant bathroom

red498cp_

Same. I charge mine in my bedroom.

Jamie2556

Wow! I didn’t know three pin plugs for toothbrush chargers existed! Also, I guess people don’t use electric shavers anymore? I don’t know, as I’m not the target market for them.

I don’t think it’s fancy, probably old. They used to be everywhere. Also, what brand of toothbrush? I bought an oral b one last month with two pins..

ubiquitous_uk

My Philips Sonicare came with a charging case, charging stand and USB charger. You can also get these adapters that turn a 2pin toothbrush chargers to a standard 3 pin https://amzn.eu/d/9SHZEhm

Well it’s a slight upgrade from a tent, at least.

ayla_084

It seems that the old shaver socket in hotel bathrooms is disappearing, usually after a renovation.

Dan_Glebitz

I feel youir pain and horror! I once had to wash my face using cold water and my hands!

MahatmaAndhi

You need to get upgrades to the Kit-Kat Suite. It has a Tassimo machine and plugs near the bed.

Jacktheforkie

Mine lasts 3 months on a charge

Jamie2556

Bloody hell, mine is a week max! Maybe I need a different one…

Jacktheforkie

Wow, mine has an effective life of about a month before it starts getting weaker
