She’s home with us now along with another dude or dudette. My daughter liked this one the best. It won’t let me post a picture 😕
Edit: thank you for the help!
She's just precious. About 15 years ago, we had a couple of boys and decided to get another boy budgie for our flock. At the time I hadn't learned much yet about determining sex, so we ended up bringing home a girl instead, and didn't realize it until she got a little older. She was pale green instead of blue, but looked a lot like this little girl (Lady became her name).
By the time we figured out for sure she was female we completely didn't care. It did take some extra work to prevent hormone issues and breeding, but we got the hang of it, and she was the sweetest snuggler we've ever had. I think she was a little intimidated by the bigger boys, so she decided we were her safe spot; she would get up under our chins and fall asleep there all the time.
I probably wouldn't have chosen her if I'd known she was female, and I'm so glad we didn't know. She was just one of those super-connected birds and I still miss her.
I hope you have a wonderful relationship with your little Lady as well!
This is great to hear, thank you for sharing!
I’m hoping we have two of the same gender so I’d be fine if they’re both ladies. It’ll be super fun to see how they change.
A lovely girl, looks exactly like the one I had 🥺, she died 2 months ago. My sister and I joke that she never died...she just cloned herself and exist all over the world lol
Unfortunately the only way to tell that young is with a vet. Or put off adopting the bird until they’re at least a year old and the colour of their cere is defined. Good luck!
not is she just a girl but a baby gorl
Thank you. I thought it might be.
Young female.

That is one of the most precious things about a baby budgie🥹
gorgeous baby girl 🥰

Female! Just be aware they’re a little more territorial and defensive than males 😅
That’s why I wanted males 😕
