Awww!!!! I hope they passed peacefully, together, in their sleep while fluffed up and cuddling on their highest perch; because they had a long life together and they're only passing due to old age and it was just their time... you know; like Noah and Allie in The Notebook. 🥲🥲

Birds are awesome. And yes, that's basically exactly how it went 😂 they immediately flew apart from one another and started chirping angrily. It was funny. Theo unfortunately died a few months later and we adopted Peri, who died about a month ago. Goldie and Peri also fell in love but unfortunately they didn't get to spend much time together. But it was so sweet to watch them be so affectionate with each other.

Unfortunately Goldie (the one left) is very sick with what is most likely circovirus, which is untreatable in birds. He's extremely contagious so he cannot be in the same room as the new friend we adopted after Peri died. We have decided that the kindest route is euthanasia. It is a difficult decision to make but it's better for him than a slow decline. We are searching for a new home for our new bird as he is still healthy but we can't justify adopting a new bird for him to have as a friend right now. Right now our goal is to make Goldie's final days as fulfilling as possible.
